I purchased the G14 a little over a month ago. I had high expectations as the specs on paper look great. Unfortunately, its performance, battery life, and other features have failed to even come close to its specs or expectations First, the Ryzen 9 and GeForce combo don't even come close to out performing my previous computer a 2019 HP Spectre with an i7. I take and process images in Photoshop. Even with the Ryzen chip and the RTX 2060, stacking images in photoshop is noticeably slower than my previous computer. Stick with Intel based chips, as Ryzen chips still have a long way to go in order to outperform intel chips. Second, the stated battery life in battery saver mode is 6 hours, but that's far from true. I've only been able to get 50% of that on a full charge. And, that with the the screen dimmed and only internet surfing. Anything more like gaming or picture processing drains the battery even faster, less than two hours. Incredibly disappointing. Finally, the screen is disappointing. There is no mistaking that this screen is not 4k. It's fairly dim, no depth of colors, but it seems respond well to games. I'm not a big gammer, but the computer handles games ok, but the fan noise is really loud. Annoyingly so. And, the power port is in the middle of the left side of the computer. It's annoying and ill-placed often getting in the way. On the positive side, the white color and design is pretty cool. If only it performed the way it looks.

Waited over a couple months of using daily before this review was written. This laptop is a beast. Before purchasing i would read all the reviews, until i decided to get it. there are some negative reviews and i was worried i would run into some of the problems others have had. Luckily i havnt so far and im happy with this laptop. Some games do run hot but there are options within this laptop to make adjustments. I didnt disable boost as other have since i want to utilize the performance that is capable.

Wish it had the lights on the back of the monitor like some of the other models, also, itd be great if they were selling the dark grey model. This is one of the fastest laptops I've ever had my hands on though. The speakers and monitor are decent but the trackpad, gaming performance and video editing performance are fantastic. For the price I'd say it's hard to beat

Decent laptop, perfect size for traveling. I got this laptop for gaming on the go, and the form factor is perfect. It fits on the tray table in economy class. - 1080p screen is decent (not as sharp if you are used to 1440p or 4k gaming) - Screen refresh rate is good enough for FPS - On the loud side, I use gaming headphones so doesn't bother me - Works perfect with my Xbox controller via Bluetooth - Runs most game at high setting, no issues with Call of Duty Warzone

I've had this laptop for almost a year and although it has amazing performance, it's given me many issues. The power cord had broken relatively quickly with no signs of wear or tear and there was no official way to replace it, having me to look around for a charger with the same stats hoping it wouldn't mess up my battery. The laptop seems to get extremely hot with temps up to 90c, which is hot to the touch. The bearings for the fan also seem to be an issue for this laptop as the fans have been an issue for me and I do monthly cleanings to make sure nothing is stuck in there. The graphic updates are also worrisome as some have caused me to have blue screens at the worst of times. The battery is also not strong as I can barely get 1-2 hours unplugged and have to spend most of the time being plugged in so I don't have to worry about it dying on me. This worries me when thinking how I paid over $1.5k for a laptop and I'm unsure of it's lifespan, causing so much stress when I just wanted a great laptop for college and gaming.

      Dear Delirious,

We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused.

All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, the broekn power cord is a random problem. A replacement power cord is available at the ASUS online store or from third-party that cariies ASUS replacement accessories.

We do understand your concern about thermal issues. It is normal for the laptop, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially during gaming, WINDOWS Update and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down.

If you need further assistance with the product, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than happy to help. Or, you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent at: http://bit.ly/AsusLiveChat.

Read some reviews on this laptop and everyone was giving it great reviews - and just so happened that I needed a new one so decided to try this one. Boots quickly - the Fingerprint read detects finger most of the time. the RTX 2060 is giving me FPS that I've never seen before (was usually around 85-MAX but now have seen some at 200! ) when not under stress - CPU running ~60C , when under load - 90C Some people complain about the fan and yes, it is strong - but not too bad. There are not a lot of Ports on this device - so take that into consideration - a simple USB-C port replicator can easily add new ports if needed.

The upgrade I had been looking for!

So to begin, I upgraded from an ASUS ROG G56JR, which is a 6 or 7-year-old laptop, i7 4700HQ, GTX 760M, and 8 gigs of ram. It worked fine but I needed a much beefier CPU for my work. Enter the G14, this is a beast of a machine and simply saying that doesn't even cut it. Its more than 4 times as fast as my previous laptop. But let's be objective, the G14 can literally handle anything, computational workloads, games at maxed-out settings, lasts a long time on battery. The Keyboard and trackpad are the best I've used till date. There are plenty of reviews out there for this machine and they dont oversell this. Just buying this laptop for its CPU justifies its price. Let alone the build quality, speakers, the screen, or the gaming performance. This is, in my honest opinion the best laptop, portable and powerful!

First off let me start with what I loved about this laptop; It’s very attractive aesthetically, built out of quality materials, has a nice screen, speakers and Dolby Audio are fantastic, and on paper the specs look amazing, especially at this price point. Now on to the bad... 1st. Upon first boot I was met with fan speeds reporting at 7600 RPM, which is loud! 2. I thought to myself, “Man this thing is installing windows and updating REALLY SLOW.” Turns out, the unit I got apparently has an issue where it will throttle the cpu down to 400mhz on all cores and max the fan speeds if it detects high temps. Unfortunately, the temps were only in the 38-42* C range and then I would have to shut the computer down, not reset, but shut it down in order for the system to stop “Throttling” the cpu, which I would then get to use for maybe between 5-45 minutes before that loud noise came back, which I could cope with, if it wasn’t accompanied by a crippling performance drop that wouldn’t go away. I really wanted to love this machine and after purchasing and encountering my first few problems, I hopped onto the reddit page for these guys and they have been plagued by Q/A issues. To be fair, I only found one other person with the same issues as me, and that community went out of their way to help me try to fix these problems for about two days. Sadly, I didn’t spend $1500 to have to fight to get mediocre performance. Hopefully the next generation of the 14” has substantially more Q/A because it would be an amazing product to not have to return.

I am not a gamer but wanted to get a processor that wasn't going to balk at me occasionally running Photoshop. I couldn't be happier; I've worked online since 2002 and have NEVER had a faster pc than this little beast. I do plan on expanding to 32 mb ram but that won't be a problem on this laptop. It's not the lightest weight laptop I could have bought, but it is no where close to the heaviest I've historically dragged around airports. VERY happy with this pc AND the Asus brand. When shopping I specifically looked for an Asus since my husband and I both have good experiences with them.

My grandson is going into computer programming and hardware classes for college next year and I needed something that would be able to work even into parallel processing and it seems that this computer will. First thing he had to do was update the bios and drivers on a computer is this new there is always a little bit of playing with drivers to get the most out of the computer. My grandson is absolutely happy with this computer
