A gaming laptop good at both gaming and laptoping
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using this laptop for a year now, and it's still going strong with nearly 3000 hours of runtime, much of that gaming. You probably already know that this laptop is an absolute monster spec-wise, so I won't bore you with that. Just know that with a little bit of effort, it is both a killer gaming machine and a great system to carry around. I bought this for college, and was looking for a gaming laptop that was equally good at both gaming and being a laptop without wiping out my savings account. This one certainly isn't cheap, but it's about the same cost as a Macbook Pro, so I'd say it isn't awful. Gaming-wise, you shouldn't be surprised to hear that it's great. The beefy 4900HS and 2060 have no trouble handling most games, though the GPU seems to hold the system back a bit. The RAM and SSD are plenty for this system and can be upgraded if you'd like. The 1080p screen is plenty for 14" and games look great on it. The cooling system is capable of keeping the internals at manageable temperatures, although it is quite loud and the laptop itself gets extremely hot (to the point of feeling painful if you touch the spot above the keyboard, where the LEDs are). You can tweak the system a bit to reduce temperatures, but this having this much power in such a small form factor does mean it gets quite toasty. Hook up an external keyboard/mouse/monitor and you'll be fine. Laptop-wise, this thing handles itself well off the charger. You'll need to do some tweaking to make sure the dedicated GPU isn't running, but if you follow the guides on the Zephyrus G14 subreddit you'll be fine. You can easily get less then 10 watts of power draw while doing basic tasks like web browsing, meaning around 7-10 hours of runtime. More intensive tasks will reduce this of course, and running anything on the dedicated GPU will get you at best 2 hours. Apart from that, the rest of the system is almost entirely good. The screen looks good and is very fast, the keyboard and trackpad are decent (minus the backlight- it's pretty bad), the speakers sound great for a machine this size, and the whole chassis feels sturdy and high quality. Overall, I'm quite happy with this machine. It strikes a good balance between power and portability. Take the time to make some adjustments and it'll reward you.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You will never find a laptop of this size, this portable with a CPU that kills most 2000+ computers. Sadly I’ll have to replace mine with a different g14, there was a small decolonization on the space bar; it doesn’t feel like I bought a new laptop. Oh well these things happen.

Great Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased for gaming/school for our son who is serving in the US Coast Guard. The first one we purchased was defective ( screen would turn black, flicker, etc right out of the box). The return process with Bestbuy was flawless and easy. The replacement works as it should and according to it son, works very well. Have not had it for long, so this is a short term review. May not be the laptop for you if you spend your entire life playing video games and do nothing else. But this works well for casual gamer and needs a laptop for school, communicating, internet, etc.

Asus gaming laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love It doesn’t overheat runs pretty much any application I want To run. Or game at the most highest requirements for the pc games I do Play. Totally 100% recommended and I’m a new gamer so this was a steal thanks asus. Oh yes it didn’t come with a charger and asus said I have To buy one. Best Buy where I originally Bought it from the box was tampered with. So they gave me a universal charger which had the potential to mess my laptop up. So still ended up spending a extra 100 dollars for the charger. Still 5 stars with the quality

Awesome purchase. Great all around computer!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the screen quality. The specs are awesome for gaming. I got my in the mail and was able to immediately download and play Rocket league. The computer stayed at around 50-65 degrees Celsius the whole time I was playing. The fans were not that loud in my opinion. The ease of use is great and the computer runs smoother than any other I've used.

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tiny Beast Monster is better than too many gaming desktops out of the box out there. and yes OUT OF THE BOX! when I'm buying something brand new should gives me the best performance possible *depending on its specs* with 0 issues out of the box. And this G14 Did IT as fast as possible. THE FIRST IMPRESSION IS UNBEATABLE SO FAR. SPECS Ryzen 9 4900HS. RTX 2060 Max Q 6gb. 16gb 2*8 3200mhz. 1tb SSD. 14" 1920*1080p 120hz IPS panel. *mine looks amazing*. With these specs I was able to play Warzone with High settings *DirectX Raytracing (DISABLED)* 90-110 on screen FPS and Recording using the GeforceExperience for 20 mins,In game resolution,60fps,50mbps with 0 issues at all, and Great video quality as well. That ready to edit right away. The temps I can feel it running too hot almost on fire lol couldnt touch the area above the fans for how hot it was But guess what 1.Didn't cause me any issues. 2.High in game settings.lol. 3.Game performance amazing and smooth. 4.My room already hot lol. plus summer time. 5.Recording at the same time.lol. still no issues. 6.No fans pads or any other helpful things to reduce the temps. *Will I keep it this way?* Of-course NOOOO. LOL .. But this is my best way to test the staff that I pay for. Specially that I'm not an expert. I do not care about the fingerprint. Cause it is not my phone.lol. I do not care about the built in webcam. Cause 95% of the built in are crap anyway.lol. I Did Not notice any latency issue in games referring to the late response time that some was mentioning! sounded 3ms for me! So dudes who reading this review if you are thinking about buying this G14 go for it. *If you tried the exact things I tried and you had issues excluding the temps of course, you need to return it cause most likely it has something wrong*.!! Who Should buy this Laptop in MY opinion!? If you are a student this Monster is the perfect choice for you. I know you may don't have the whole price but do your best to grab one, will last you easy 4 years. If you are an average laptop user go with this one lasting at least 5+ years. so its worth it. If you are an average gamer go for it but make sure to give the best solutions to reduce the temps so it can last you more. If you are a heavy real gamer stick with a high quality Gaming desktop. if you are that person you already knew. ((Over all it's the perfect Gaming laptop I ever owned)). *ASUS* You are the best out there cause you have every single level of price, performance, and quality, for all type customers. My second Asus laptop that didn't let me down. BestBUY Thanks for the best price for this laptop world wide these days. Wish this simple review Helped you out! THANKS

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 - the DO IT ALL BEAST!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price we paid there isn't a better laptop for both gaming and production. I still rate it at 5 stars even if it doesn't come with a camera as the cameras on most of these types of laptops are lacking to begin with so you're better off buying an external camera. It's fast, runs smooth, and tweaking the performance features are super easy that you can easily control the temperature so that you avoid the heat issues that other reviewers are complaining about. If you want an awesome productivity laptop that can game on high settings, this is it.

||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is excellent and gives you the best bang for your buck on the market. It is extremely good at running games and handles everyday tasks very well. I got mine a few months ago and have been very happy with it. I highly recommend this laptop to anyone who wants a high performing laptop. My only complaint is that it gets a little hot sometimes but it is not a huge issue.

A Laptop That Punches Way Above Its Weight Class
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most serious gamers (outside of college) don't usually favor laptops for gaming. Typically, if you want to play brand new games at high settings with consistent frame rate, you'll need hardware so big and power-hungry that you might as well just get a desktop PC, because the laptop will have to be so big and clunky that you'll almost always end up using it at a desk or table anyway. Either that, or the laptop is too small to pack hardware that can play games well enough to really justify the additional cost. Well, no longer. Though it's not perfect, the Zephyrus G14 gets a perfect score from me simply because it is so clearly better than virtually all of its competition that the only way to currently find a better gaming laptop is indeed to just give up and get a desktop instead. And even then, it would have to be a pretty good desktop. The AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS CPU absolutely shreds, and this is currently the only gaming laptop that features it. That does come with a consequence of no Thunderbolt support (if that matters to you). In addition, while the RTX 2060 MaxQ is a great mobile GPU, a 2070 would have been ideal. Oh, and the keyboard backlight is an absolute joke. You can read the keycaps fine with it turned off, but if keyboard backlight is a big selling point for you, that's something you should know. And yes, the lack of a webcam is also regrettable. If that's something you use constantly and you don't already own a good USB webcam, then maybe this isn't for you. But if you're the kind of person who puts tape over your webcam when you're not using it (which is 99% of the time), then this probably won't bother you. Also, TECHNICALLY YES, a laptop with a new Intel CPU and a slightly better GPU would outperform this laptop with certain games, but usually at the expense of size, power consumption, heat dissipation, and, well, just expense. And if you have a 17", 6-pound behemoth that also functions as a space heater, one can't help but wonder why you aren't just getting a desktop at that point. Those qualifiers aside, if you want a laptop that weighs less than 4 pounds, can fit on a small tray or a lapdesk (you know, like you'd expect from a laptop), but still somehow performs just as well as (if not better than) any gaming laptop twice its size? As of July 31 2020, I can promise that you will not find a better choice than this. You want the best possible gaming experience? Build yourself a desktop. You want the best possible gaming experience on an affordable laptop that can still function like a normal laptop? Get this one.

Really nice.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing product. I am in the process of deciding between this and the Lenovo legion (high-end model). 240Hz. 2Tb storage and a non-Max-Q card. I really like the AMD chip in this. I've been testing this out and I can zip up 7gigs of video files in less than 30 seconds...IT'S FAST! The GPU is outstanding. I specifically downloaded a game to play that would crush the hardware...It plays it fantastically. And the raytracing...AMAZING. It does get a little warm on the keyboard while playing the game but it was fine. The sound of this beauty is fantastic. I think it's the best-placed speakers on a laptop I've ever seen. The screen is crisp and clear. My only gripes are that I don't have an actual number pad. I use that frequently and that the screen size is 14". The 14" is only because I'm used to a 15.6". Personal preference on that because the screen is really, really nice. I didn't find the backlit keyboard to be super impressive either. After the driver update, it's a little better but at certain angles, it's hard to see the letters on the keyboard. I have to turn off the lights for the most part. I wish the keys would have been a different color. Off white keys with white light coming through, isn't the best color coordination effort made. Keys are very responsive though and it's nice to type on. Seems to last quite well with watching youtube videos. I had the brightness at 80% and It lasted a little over 5hrs, 30mins. Not too bad for a gaming laptop. Don't know where the 8+ hours comes from. In any event, it's still good IMHO. Weight is really nice. Light. very well made indeed. Got it with the 300 discount. So a winner there no matter what.
