Great laptop but BATTERY LIFE, Thermals & Support
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PS: If you guys have a solution for these issues please reply :) It is a great laptop when it comes to specs but: The battery life right out of the box is 3 hours or so for regular tasks like light internet browsing. Thermals - The CPU and GPU touched really high temperatures (+80 Celcius). You can feel the heat through the thin metal chassis. I had to manually (Armory Crate software) crank up the fans to like 100% - very noisy Support: Both people at Best Buy and Asus have been unresponsive to my concerns. Furthermore, the hardware warranty for my device is set to expire soon - it was based on the manufacturing date and not the date of purchase apparently. The cherry on the cake - AMD rewards: The retailer (Best Buy) has been ping-ponging me to Asus and Asus back to best buy for a simple AMD coupon code!!! Despicable support and service

Posted .Dear DidYouFixTheseIssues,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having performance issues with the machine, and with ASUS and Best Buy Support. This is not a normal reflection of how our company handles customer service. Can you please provide me with the case numbers from your interactions with Support? While this machine would receive warranty service from Best Buy directly, we can assist if they refuse service. If bought new, this unit has a twelve month warranty from the date of purchase, not manufacture. Please reach out to me at [email protected] and include case #N201034824 in your email for reference. I'd also like to investigate the coupon code issue for you.
Thank you for choosing ASUS!
Best regards,
Lane

Not perfect but a decent laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not having a webcam is a big problem, even having an average quality webcam would have been enough to make this a perfect laptop. Frankly, this doesn't come with a 9 - 10 hrs battery life. Need to make many changes to achieve it and it's not worth it. CPU keeps bouncing from 4400 MHz to 1400 MHz. One 8 GB RAM is soldered which is a drawback as it cant be changed. MyASUS and ARMOURY CRATE. These are not that much responsive. I like Dell's SupportAssist much better.

Gaming Beast!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.GOOD: Great fast machine! Not perfect, but if you are looking for a small laptop that is easy to carry and can run just about any game, you have to buy this machine. BAD: No camera. Fingerprint sensor seldom works, and keyboard backlight sucks.

A WONDERFUL laptop - 9 months later
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got tired of running my (slow, ugly) old rig and wanted something quick and easy to run World of Warcraft. I found it in this little machine. It does not overheat and runs like a dream. One of the best machines I have ever purchased. I always wait prior to posting rave reviews, but this laptop deserves the praise.

One of the best, if not the best, well-round lapto
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Performance? Ryzen 9 is one of the best mobile CPUs in the market today. 8 cores. Can power through any task you put it through. Check. Portability? At 14 inch it's not too big nor too small. Lightweight and portable enough to stick in your bag and not be a nuisance. Check. Design? Does not scream "gamer nerd" with futuristic aesthetics or RGB shenanigans. This would blend in perfectly in a classroom, business meeting, or cafe. Gaming? Great graphics cards. Great thermals, especially if you tweak it (disabling boosst etc.). Yes, the display isn't 4K or 1ms response time, but I've had no problems playing competitive FPS games on here. Looks great, 1080p, no issues. Battery life? Easily 9-10, might have to do some tweaks, but that is incredible given that at it's core, it is a gaming laptop. Most gaming laptops run out of juice at less than 5 hours. For someone that wants a jack-of-all trades laptop that can game, be amazing for productivity, and have great aesthetics, this it and is the laptop I've been looking for for many years. Yes there are better specialist gaming laptops or ultrabooks with 4k screens but if you want a one-and-done laptop that can do it all, there isn't much competition to this in the market and at this value. As someone who like to game once in a while, I can't imagine buying a $2k Macbook Pro 16 that I won't be able to even game on. Another tip is that BB has $100 discounts on these at times.

Good value laptop
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop does struggle to run some games. Playing new world is a struggle at times for example. Good: size and weight is amazing for taking anywhere Looks is great medium Battery life is decent for gaming Cons: The keys backlight is awful. In medium dark room you won't be able to read the keys Runs hot ASUS preinstall software is bad

The perfect laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No issues with the laptop so far, I think some people complained about driver issues, but that's a software update issue that can be addressed. It does get a little hot when gaming, but that should be expected when your gaming.

The ROG 14 is a portable powerhouse for gaming
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In 2020, this laptop won several awards for best laptop of the year. In 2021, it is still a beast, and a more affordable price than last year. With an AMD Ryzen 4900HS processor and Nvidia RTX 2060max-Q GPU, it is incredibly powerful. The FHD 14" IPS 120hz panel looks gorgeous and I can easily play Apex Legends on max settings at 110fps avg. I hook the laptop to my FHD 25" 240hz monitor and achieve an average of 200fps in Apex Legends with "medium" settings. Control with RT on gives me a constant 58-65fps. I'm more than satisfied with the gaming performance. My work apps also run smoothly. Keep in mind the laptop weights only 1,6kg (3,5lbs) and the battery lasts up to 10 hours (in my experience for typing and web use), so it's also very portable. The typing experience with this backlit keyboard is very pleasant, keys are stable, responsive and quiet. The aluminum body is soft, the white backlight does a fantastic job in different day lights and nighttime. The fingerprint reader is reliable, the speakers deliver clear sound all the time and the bass is surprisingly accurate, it doesn't distort at high volume. The laptop doesn't have Thunderbolt 3, but the USB-C with PD+DP is good enough for me. It doesn't have a webcam, instead Asus includes software to connect your phone via BT and use the phone camera, so my videocalls look way better than the regular 720p/30 webcams in other laptops. The laptop can get hot (in demanding games, GPU at 85°C), but it is built to handle such temperatures, just don't block the vents. The glass trackpad is smooth, it could be bigger though. Overall, it's a premium laptop with a sober look, it ditches the RGB aesthetic and delivers a great experience, especially for gamers.

Fantastic machine with vibrant display
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While this machine is a bit smaller than I typically use, the quality of the internal hardware and display satisfied any lingering doubts about this machine. The product overall as a strong feel of quality. One of the best computers I have ever purchased.

RAM dies and warranty is only within US
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this machine for 8 months -- powerful with great battery performance. However, I had quite a few BSODs lately and memory diagnosis reported a memory hardware error. I hoped that was on the user-changeable RAM unit, but it's not -- it's the soldered-on one. Another reason why soldering on half of the RAM is a bad idea, especially when its quality is not that good. Unfortunately, I'm stuck in Toronto due to COVID and I cannot get Acer or BestBuy to cover either the shipping fee back to US, or to repair my unit. This feels horrible.

Best computer I have ever owned.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Performance was most important to me when searching for my new laptop. I was initially looking for a MacBook Pro but the steep price tag was tough to accept, so I started looking into alternatives and came across quite a few benchmark comparison in which the Zephyrus mostly demolished the MacBook. All that and at half or less of its price. It is extremely sturdy but not heavy, sleek and modern looking. Performance is fast and powerful! Best laptop I have ever owned!

Great Product for a 14” laptop
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Solid Laptop, it has no problems running most games and is extremely portable. There seems to be minor ghosting when using vsync but nothing crazy. Honestly I love the product for because I get consistent 120fps on the games I love playing (valorant, rainbow six siege, apex legends) and I can bring it to a friends house very easily. Only reason why it’s not a 5 star is because of the lack of USB ports and the missing page up + down keys.
