This laptop is a beast for the $$$. Bought it for business travel. Ended up playing games on it as well.

Awesome gaming laptop, especially for the price. It does run hot out of box(90-95°C), so make sure to watch tutorials explaining how to turn the aggressive turbo setting off for your CPU which helped my temps by 15-20°C (75-80°C). Be warned that like other laptops, you can’t upgrade it when it becomes outdated so the only option would be to get a new computer. Other than those initial things, this thing is a beast and ran Apex at around 100-120 FPS steadily

My first unit had major screen bleed and was unacceptable for viewing streaming of movies from any source. I then exchanged for exact same unit and when I got home to do Win 10 setup the display would not power up. The keyboard lite up and I could hear Cortana speaking to me to select my choices BUT the display was DEAD! The store only had 2 of these, which I acquired over a two day period, so no stock was available after my second unit return. On the first unit I was displeased that you only get 30fps when on battery usage and full fps on battery. No brightness selection on backlit keyboard, no ethernet jack, no SD card slot & keys are hard to see if you have a desk lamp on...the light washes out the keys making it hard to see each letter/number. Lastly this unit wants to use the RTX2060 graphics card on allot of stuff that doesn't need it to. Origin running in the background has the fans and graphics card running hot and loud. My HP laptop for internet streaming in 2 hrs never turned on the fans, this unit had them turn on and off every 8-10 mins and it was loud! Overall my experience was bad and expectations were let down, especially with a unit that had a DEAD display! For cheaper you can get a Acer Predator with a RTX2070 or an MSI with more options, so I will look elsewhere for my replacement laptop. Oh last thing to point out, my HP is a 14 inch form factor and I added a second HD and upgraded BOTH memory slots. The Asus only has 1 HD and 1 slot of memory is soldered to the MB so that sucks for upgrading it on the Asus laptop. Lastly you CAN'T send into Asus for repairs, you MUST take it to BEST BUY for anything ..... it states this on their website and is strictly enforced! Hope this helps anyone looking into this unit, some issues were bad luck others were just a part of Asus's design flaws!

It’s fun. It is much faster than my Five year old laptop that I am replacing with this one. Battery life is good.

I love this laptop! It handles everything I've thrown at it with ease. I can play a game on my external screen while watching videos on the laptop screen. Granted, I mostly play WoW and Overwatch, but it handles those games smoothly and effectively. Both games are beautiful on screen. As an added bonus, I really like the keyboard and the chassis. The metal chassis especially is resistant to fingerprints. Everything about this laptop screams quality.

This is my first gaming laptop and so far I’m enjoying it. So far I’ve only used it for Sims 4 with all the packs and ALOT of custom content and I haven’t had any issues. The only thing is that the fan can be a little noisy but that’s to be expected. If a noisy fan is a deterrent for you then I wouldn’t recommend but if not then definitely purchase this laptop.

This Laptop is beautiful, light, and amazingly fast, with the fast power/ fingerprint login button. So far so great!

Love the laptop! It does EVERYTHING I want it to do! Games, video editing s/w, business apps, surf the net. it's AMAZING! BUT 7 days after I received it the screen went into inky blackness. I recycled power, I rebooted the graphics cards, plugged into an aux monitory - nothing helped. When booting I can hear the splash screen and the HD indicator flashes but the monitor remans dark. I have decided to return the product and exchange for another but unfortunately they are sold out. Yes...I want another one because this laptop is awesome. Maybe the next wave of releases they'll have this problem resolved. I could have handled the monitoring going black and being able to get it working again by just turning off/on (like so many others have) but this one stayed black....can't handle that. Looking forward to getting another one!

I wish it could buy everyone one. This laptop is amazing and fast. The fan is loud, but it doesn’t bother me.

This laptop was pleasantly surprising in regards to it's gaming performance. At 1080p, it is just a dream to play with. Sadly, when connected to an external GSYNC monitor; it cannot activate GSYNC for reasons that are not entirely clear to me after a decent amount of research. If you are planning on using USB C hub to display port; beware of this issue. If GSYNC does not matter; you will be ok. This was ultimately the reason for my return.

Great all around laptop for students that need a thin and light laptop, but that also want to play some games. The Nvme memory booting up or restarting dearly fast. The only weak spot is the display and the speakers. There is not enough space to multitask and the speakers while not bad, could improve a lot. I use mine connected to an intruder monitor and with headphones so i do not really feel these issues. But overall would definitely recommend

I am a college student and was looking for a laptop that could handle all my Engineering Programs but, one that can also last for all the years of school to come. I did go a little bit over budget for this laptop but, come on, look at the specs. I was worried of disappointment but now that I have purchased it and have it with me, it is everything I was hoping for. Also, first time buying ASUS (or any non-HP or Lenovo laptop) and I could not be more pleased with ASUS.

I really wanted to be able to keep this laptop, I really did. Everything the other reviewers say about the great performance is true. But, not everything is a ray of sunshine about this computer. First, it was a pain just to be able to get this laptop in the first place. Asus was having issues left and right just producing the things, and Best Buys system was a total train wreck. In order to get the laptop, I ended up ordering it open box. I ordered it in condition "excellent," so I had high hopes. However, my first suspicions started arising when I couldn't get more than 5 hours of battery life, no matter how conservative I was while web browsing. Then I got a blue screen while playing a cpu intensive game. While this may have been due to me doing something funky in the game, and drivers not being out yet, I was yet more suspicious. Then came the black screens. I had two of them in my weekish of having the laptop. This is a known issue with this laptop, but the fix was supposed to come out with the new drivers. However, my black screen issue persisted. This was unacceptable to me as if this happened while working on a professional application, the only fix is to restart the computer. This could potentially cost me hours of work. So, I returned the computer. I was considering buying another one, when my friend, who got this laptop following my recommendation, reported that he had terrible screen issues. I simply do not trust the quality control these laptops are put through, and as much as I want to love them and buy one, Best Buy, and Asus, have treated me horribly, and I am doubtful that will change.

I bought this gaming laptop for CAD work. It has exceeded my expectations in all respects. My only concern was that the screen size was a bit small for my application, but that will be an easy fix with a remote monitor. It renders large architectural models in Revit and mechanical models in Inventor very quickly. Both the keyboard and track pad are exceptional, and the sound quality is surprisingly good for a laptop. All in all I am very satisfied.

This is a wonderful portable gaming powerhouse. The first one I bought, even after much trouble shooting didn't seem to have the 8-10hr battery life that was often stated in reviews, but upon getting a replacement, I would say I get close to 6-8 with general usage on battery for browsing/writing/etc. Would NOT recommend gaming on battery power as it will either drain the battery too quick or just not run at sufficient performance to be well playable.

Excellent mix of portable, decent power house. Only downfall is no thunderbolt for using external graphics card. Extremely fast at everything, I get an average of 8hrs of use with turbo boost turned off on battery. Perfect size for everyday use. Keyboard layout is perfect for typing. Track pad is nice. They’re whole chassis is metal. 140hrz. With graphics cards being so expensive now it’s lots cheaper to buy a gaming laptop.

I've been using this computer lightly so far. It is super responsive, I am running virtual machines on it with no problem. Haven't done much gaming yet but it seems to be a powerful machine for that purpose. The only thing I don't like is the keyboard light is too bright and since the keys are gray it is hard to see them so must of the time the light is turned off completely. The sound is amazing for those little speakers, that was a nice surprise.

This laptop is the perfect for work and play. Very light and portable, great screen, super-fast, and good looking.
