Customers appreciate the ROG Zephyrus G14's impressive performance, long battery life, and its compact, lightweight design, making it highly portable. Many also praise the build quality and powerful GPU. However, some users express concerns regarding the device's tendency to overheat, the keyboard backlight, and the noticeable fan noise. Worth twice the price!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for a workhorse machine for something like programming or general productivity tasks, this is by far the best laptop you can buy, since it does have the current fastest 35 watt cpu that money can buy (Ryzen 9 4900HS). On top of that, it has incredible 10 hour battery life and more than enough storage with a 1TB nvme, 16 GB of very fast ram, and a truly great keyboard and trackpad. I think it's unfortunate that this laptop has the "Gaming" title, since the 2060 max q is limited in power and soon the 3000 series nvidia gpus will arrive, making it out of date soon in that respect. Although, if you want more than just a gaming laptop, this machine is the alpha and omega. I purchased this laptop in july, but it came defective. I was pretty easily able to return it and get a replacement. There may be some quality issues, but aside from that: This is the best laptop you can buy for your money. On userbenchmark.com my 4900HS cpu scored higher than all other ryzen DESKTOP cpus (since userbenchmark is biased toward gaming and doesn't give much credit for multi-core performance). Also, if you are looking for multi-core performance in a laptop-- this laptop DOES deliver. In a 14 inch form factor you get desktop performance, while somehow not limiting battery life. Although, to get the maximum battery life, you do have to do some registry editing to disable the "aggressive" boost settings. In conclusion, if you want the fastest *semi-ultra* book on the market, buy this computer. You will not regret it (unless you get a defective one and wait more than 15 days before attempting to return it). I would also recommend getting an extended warranty since there are a few known issues that you could run into beyond the 15 day return time frame.

Pretty happy with this ASUS ROG
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I opted for this Ryzen version instead of Intel because it is supposed to run cooler. The laptop weight is light enough to carry to class when necessary. The video drives my external monitor (only 1080p) well. For some games I can get high frame rates. Fan comes on a lot, and may be annoying to some. I wear headphones so fan noise is not an issue. I would consider another ASUS ROG if I needed one.

In love already
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop! I'm an avid sewer, so I don't have enough desk space for a permanent desktop rig. After much research, I decided to splurge on this gaming laptop. I am honestly astonished by the performance of this laptop. Compared to my 2015 MacBook Pro, it is fast as LIGHTNING and it has run the four games I've played as smooth as butter. I highly recommend this laptop if you're looking to play games with not enough space for a desktop.

Great laptop.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop if you know what you're getting ahead of time. I bought it for some light gaming and drawing with my wacom one. So far I have no complaints. The biggest downside is the lack of ethernet port, but you can get a cheap adapter to fix that. If you're looking for a built in camera the laptop doesn't have one. And the keyboard lighting could be much better. The battery life is great, and for a ROG gaming laptop, it has a very nice subtle look.

Excellent purchase for a designer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review might be a little biased because my previous laptop was a mid-2012 Macbook that had become so bloated with software and files that it took over a minute to load a single webpage. I have had this laptop for about 3 weeks now and it seems I can throw literally anything at it and it won't slow down. I'm a graphic designer so I have mostly used Adobe software on it so far. I have easily run Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign at the same time with no problems. That is something that I would never think of doing on my old laptop. I've run a few simple Steam games on it so far, like Stardew Valley and Papers Please and they have run beautifully. I'm not into shooting games or anything that needs 60fps but I imagine that those would run great as well on this powerhouse. The quality and build of this laptop are absolutely amazing! I had no problem switching from macOS to Windows. The 14" screen is perfect and the fans are audible when working in Adobe, but they do not interrupt my Zoom calls and don't bother me at all. It does seem to run a little hot on the bottom, but buying a cooling pad solved that problem quickly. I highly recommend it for not only gamers but designers as well!

Amazing!
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this for like 6 months now, and there have been no issues. As someone who has school but likes to play games as a way to procrastinate, this is amazing. The color is nice, and of course like most gaming laptops when charging, it gets a little windy. But overall, I love it. I like that it has a c type charger so if I ever forget the charger, I can use my phone charger for it. Not as strong of a charge but enough.

This Laptop made me leave the Wall Garden
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a die-hard Mac guy for over 15 years. it's not that I didn't like PC's I just prefer MacOs and the quality of Macs. So, I was in the market for a new MBP I decided just for giggles to see what else was available in my price range. I started seeing youtube suggestions on the G14 and couldn't believe the power I could get for the price. Also, every reviewer was totally blown away with this beast. The Ryzen 9 has no equal in this form factor. The build quality is excellent and the RTX 2060 has enough juice for high to ultra gaming on triple AAA titles, which means it would have no problem editing 4k videos or anything else you could throw at it. So at the moment of truth, I couldn't bring myself to buy the MBP and couldn't be happier about the decision, and I save myself close to a thousand dollars. Pound for pound this laptop is a unicorn. There is nothing that compares to this system. As a tech enthusiast, this little Ferrari is impressive. Gaming power with professional esthetics in a tiny footprint the size of a 13-inch MBP. This is now my main rig, a portable destroyer not much bigger than ultralight. Asus changed the game with this one. Stop reading this review and buy it already!!! Pros: Power, Size, excellent build quality, excellent sound, excellent trackpad, excellent battery life, excellent monitor (after a little tweaking) system is quiet, and very efficient until you summon the beast, and then it can get loud. Cons: Keyboard backlighting, the system can get a little toasty PS if you do buy this system join the G14 community on Reddit and follow some of the guides to tweak your system for top performance. Also, make sure sure you do all the driver updates.

The best of its class!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Zephyrus G14 is an absolute monster. I had a MacBook Pro before and without a doubt the Zephyrus completely outclasses the MacBook in speed, looks, and multitasking. It is a gaming laptop so you gotta keep in mind that the battery life isn’t going to be great as I’m finding myself charging the G14 like at least once a day compared to the MacBook where you can last a few days without charging it, but it’s definitely worth every penny !

||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did weeks of research on gaming laptops, always kept coming back to this one as the best available for the price point. It has been a win of a purchase. I enjoy it very much for gaming as well as small things as far as emails, streaming, and Microsoft apps. It’s very fast and clean. Perfect size for on the go gaming as well as just pulling anywhere in the house to use. I would highly recommend this laptop for gaming.

Overall happy with purchase
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this laptop. Super thin. VR compatible out of the box. Good price for what you get. Wish the display could get brighter and speakers louder. Only 2 USB ports and 2 USB-C ports so I got an adapter that gives me more. No Ethernet port though. Charger gets HOT. I bought a cooling pad with fan for underneath the laptop itself. Sad that this version doesn’t have the LED display on the back of the display.
