Low FPS for gaming but still a good laptop.

(Fortnite) This game requires at least 144hz if not more, so the laptop never really kept up and I didn’t think it was a good buy. Unless you’re trying to play some lower FPS games, I wouldn’t really recommend this laptop. Aside from that, this laptop is still fairly nice and functions pretty well in general.

Perfect blend of power and portability

Overwatch comfortably gets over 140fps at 1080p High details. I swapped out the available 8GB so-dimm stick and put in a 32GB DDR4-3200 stick for a total of 40GB of RAM. Photo and video editing are now even better. Great system for development too with VS Code, WSL 2, etc. There are some initial quirkiness with the machine - just check the Reddit forums for tips from other users.

A truly portable gaming laptop

I'm a graduate student too, so portability and battery life count too. This does the job. One thing that annoyed me when I first got it was the weak keyboard backlighting. In a brightly lit room it was difficult to read the keys. This is solved by turning off the backlighting (Fn + F3 key or you can always look it up on YouTube).

The only big drawback is the screen brightness. Don't purchase if you ever plan to use it while sitting outside on a patio. Even in the shade the screen is so dim it's nearly unreadable. First time I've ever encountered an issue like this on a laptop.
