So far the laptop has been working well. The camera could be better, but its better than none. The screen size is quite nice, and it has a great refresh rate. I would recommend buying this when it goes on sale.

CPU failure at 1 year, no warranty help.

I've had the laptop for 1 year 1 month. The CPU is basically dead. Clock_Watchdog_Timeout errors causing windows to no longer load. It's a CPU issue, technically it could be a CPU mounting issue instead of a CPU core issue... This started a month before the warranty was up... but I didn't know that error meant the CPU was failing. It progressively got worse till it started failing so much that windows just wont even boot. BestBuy wont fix it, and ASUS wont fix it despite it clearly being a hardware issue.

Loved the device overall, amazing quality, the touchpad is to die for, but it had an overheating problem right from the start, it was really hot even when idle and while performance mode wasn’t even on.

Bought this laptop brand new. Had it for 23 days, and wifi card failed on me and battery would die on me within 30-60 min. I wasn’t even using any heavy softwares or gaming. Just using internet browsers and file viewers. On top of that, i spoke with ASUS for hours everyday trying to figure it out. They said i would have to send in the product for them to check it and if i wanted to return or exchange for a new one they couldn’t do anything because I didn’t buy directly from them, so they would only be able to repair but I would have to send in the product and pay for shipping and wait 7-10 buisness days. I bought from best buy, so they said I would have to do an exchange or return from best buy. So i went to best buy and they said they cannot help me out at all, because its passed 14 days. For a computer of this caliber and price, nothing should be going wrong in such a small time frame but it will.

      Dear Risk,

I'm sorry to hear that the wireless adapter failed and the battery life is short. This is not the kind of experience we want our customers to have. Usually, units that are not purchased directly from us, will need to be returned to a reseller for replacement/refund. Seen that your unit is linked with Best Buy, you can also contact to the Geek Squad team as they should be able to repair it. You can also attempt the steps from the FAQ below. For further troubleshooting, feel free to reach out to me at customerloyalty@asus.com and provide this link for reference. I'll do my best to provide a quick resolution to your case. Your feedback is important as it helps with improvements to ASUS Support channels.

Over all, the ASUS ROG M16 Gaming Laptop with Intel Core i9 does perform well. I had no issues with playing games, but there was some inconsistent performance. In games like Far Cry I got 80+ frames per second, as well as in GTA V. In Red Dead Redemption 2, I could barely get 60 fps. The RTX 3060 is solid, but if you don't need Intel, the Ryzen variant may perform better and more consistent, at a lower price tag. The screen is amazing, as well as the keyboard. I have no complaints about the hardware either. It is definitely the slimmest gaming laptop I've owned. I actually am using it now for work and play. Wish it came with Windows 10 Pro, and not just the Home version for compatibility with some applications. All in all, I love the laptop. I just feel at the price point, an AMD model may be a better option for some, for gaming purposes.

Loved the screen, loved the speakers but I can't tell you much more than that. They say the 3rd time is the charm and I really wish it would have been in this case, but all three laptops I had the pleasure of unboxing all had defective Wireless/Bluetooth cards. They would work intermittently, after a reboot or 4, at least that seemed to fix WiFi, but I could only get Bluetooth recognized in devices by installing the drivers, which required a reboot and then I'd be back to square one a few reboots later. Mind you, I hate returning anything, I'll eat a meal I pay for if something is wrong with it, rather than have to send it back. I really wanted to make this work, but this experience has left me rather unimpressed with ASUS. Hats of to Best Buy, they were great every step of the way.

At first, this device was amazing. It was quick, performant, and had a beautiful display. Over time, I began to notice some of the drawbacks of lowering the display so close to the fans and also stuffing a i9 into this thin body. The heat would get so bad that it would burn my fingers and likely contributed to the keys falling off. The display had numerous glitches likely due to the heat and the fans were no longer able to sustain the 3060 and i9 so game performance suffered.
