Far better than I’d imagined
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this to replace an aging AirPort Extreme. Setup was very simple - the iPhone app worked great. I’d been concerned that it wouldn’t cover the whole house and that we would have to go with a mesh system - but there’s not a dead spot in our 3700sf 2-story house. Good per-device control for limiting internet access by time because kid. Speed approaching the wired connection throughout the house. Even makes it into a room that has three layers of drywall and Green Glue. Love it.

WIFI-6 IS WORTH THE UPGRADE!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have gigabit internet at our house through AT&T and this is the most amazing router. The biggest upgrade over the standard router is QoS (quality of service AI control) and Wifi-6. You will rarely see even 1200 mbps as it is only useful for transferring files from two high-end PC's over 2.5 gbps ethernet. However, as I said, this will work in addition to most routers when operating in bridge mode. No other setup required. It was flawless. I will note, it didn't work correctly (double NAT) when it was setup as an additional network.

Superb Coverage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed to upgrade our WiFi coverage and compared many different makes and models. The ASUS routers had the specs and the speeds we needed to support a dozen devices. Although the coverage was fast and stable in most of the house, there were some slow spots towards the back (where I work). To remedy the bottleneck bubble we added a range extender and now the entire house plus the deck are covered. If you have no experience with configuring a wireless network, the web and app interfaces may be a little daunting.

Great purchase
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I work in telecommunications and I was very impressed with this purchase. I get full coverage across my 1300sq ft single story house even without it being in the center. Now given my house does not have wood, plaster, or metal in the walls. I also don’t have the big 400Mbps package as most because you don’t need it. I push consistently 116Mbps across both my 5G band and 2G band with an average of 16ms ping. I do have my Xbox directly connected to it and it does not sit behind my tv and is out in the open. Would recommend.

Fast and great coverage.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed this with AT&T fiber/wifi modem all in one. I was trying to decide between mesh and just a single router that would provide better coverage. I decided to try this first. Glad I did. I have decent coverage through the entire house now (2 story, 4,300 sq ft.). No need for mesh. I've had it going for 3 weeks now, and no issues at all. It's fast and provides excellent coverage. Setup was super easy.

Excellent Router
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed a new router and decided on the Asus AX-3000. It's been installed for over a month now with absolutely no problems at all. Has good coverage and was very easy to set up. There have been no 'hiccups' at all. Very happy with the purchase.

Its okay.. Could be better for the price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router is okay, but it's not a phenomenal upgrade. I believe the AC 5ghz and 2.4ghz dual bands run equivalent to a similarly spec AC1200-1300 router which should be close to half the price of this unit. The AX 5GHZ runs at full 2.4gbps bandwidth around 10-20feet away(through a wall) which is quite an upgrade over nearly anything on the market and this is mainly what you're paying for. (esp for file transfer). There's 2-5ms lower ping and Loading web pages feel generally snappier than my previous router which was nice to see/notice. The software is generally great, but enabling IPV6 kinda messed up my 2.4ghz performance and the router wouldn't go over 288 MBPS (after disabling and enabling) until I full reset it which... is kinda sketchy. General stability is okay (when it is running well) but I did crash the router clicking through settings within the first couple hours which seems scary but its been stable since. I like this router but I'm not sure what to really think in terms of long term. AC performance is a tad better than a rental router from your ISP, but don't expect amazing. its a slight boost when it comes to overall range. I pay for 400 MBPS and get 460-480 wired. AX performance within 20 feet does equivalent wired speed quite well, but if your client antenna is lower than desk level, expect drop offs. Going to 40 feet distance will peak at around 250-300 MBPS which is okay, but I think I'd have better results with a higher end 3200+ tri-band AC router with better antennas... not sure. AC performance with the same spec wired internet is around 110-130MBPS at 40 feet. ISP router does around 80-100 at this same or similar distance. YMMV. The pictures are deceiving. The router is a lot smaller than it looks and it gives off a lower end vibe which coincides with my initial thought of a basic router. the indicators LED's leak a lot of light through the bar and it seems "cheap", but also well built at the same time. SO TL:DR its an AC1200-1300 router, but full intel AX200/201 capability and better overall features and software than your ISP and or lower end router. Is it worth the 180MSRP? I don't think so. The price should be closer to $120 at best given the features and warranty length. I'll likely end up keeping it unless I run into critical issues which hopefully don't occur. knock on wood.

Fast network, easy setup
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very fast and easy to setup. I configured this one as a stand alone WiFi router, I will will try next time to get a couple of them configured as a mesh. I suspect they have the potential to work better than the regular mesh network access points available at consumer level. With 28 devices connected and some of them very busy streaming, the memory and processors load was less than 50% The user interface is really good, much better than others. The remote management is solid and very functional.

Good Router
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router was easy to setup. It took like 5-minutes tops. After doing research I realized there was no point in buying an expensive gaming router. Its simply overkill unless I had a huge home which J don't. This router is more than fast enough for my situation. It fixed all my speed problems with my Xbox Series X. Id highly recommend it if you are looking for a good router with high speeds for a decent sized place.

Doing it all.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was easy to set up and configure. Has been working great. My house is only 1550sq ft and the unit is centrally located so there is no problem connecting anywhere in the house and even in the back yard. Super product so far.

Not an upgrade for AC wireless
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I currently have AT&T Gigabit Fiber at my home. When I do I speed test from a LAN connected device, I get 900ish up and down speeds, give or take depending on the time of day. If I do a speed test with a 5G device(S10+) I get 400-500 up and down, which is not bad, but leaves some bandwidth on the table. I decided to get this Asus with WiFi 6 to see if I could bridge the gap between the factory AT&T Modem/Router (ARRIS BGW210-700). I set the AT&T in bridge mode, setup the asus, optimized the wifi settings and started to do some testing. On average I would get 200-300 Mbps up and down, and on very rare occasions, I would hit 400's and every more rare, 500 Mbps. On top of that, all of my 2.4Ghz devices (door bell camera) had horrible connections as compared to the ARRIS modem/router. I wanted SOOO badly for this to work and for it to be a nice worth while upgrade, but after 6 days of use, I decided to return it. I'm not sure why the WiFi 6 was not better, but arguably worse than the AC wifi router from AT&T. My suggestion if you are doing this to get more speed out of wifi is to save your receipt. Do your testing and if it is not better (and tha's why you purchased it) return it.

I love this thing. Better than another brand.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this thing. Works great. Better than a previous brand name router that lasted less than a year and always had problems connecting. The Asus has never had a problem. Streams smoothly and connects to all devices with ease. Connected to brand new computer without any problem. Highly recommend.

Great router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this router so far. The setup menus easy to use. Having tried port forwarding yet - but I'm guess it'll be easy too. This router replaced my Netgear Nighthawk which kept having connection issues. This router ran all day without hiccups and only took a few minutes to setup up. I used all the same SSIDs and passwords - so I didn't have to setup all the devices in my house again;}

Issues with 5 GHz band
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router was easy to set up and its performance is excellent in general. However, I had difficulty with some devices on the 5 GHz band. A Dell laptop refused to join the 5 GHz channel and would only connect on 2.4 GHz, I also noticed that iPhones and iPads would prefer 2.4 GHz even when close to the router. I followed some advice I found online and went into advanced setup options to tweak the settings for SmartConnect. This seemed to do the trick and these devices were now able to stay on the 5 GHz band
