    Not an upgrade for AC wireless

    I currently have AT&T Gigabit Fiber at my home. When I do I speed test from a LAN connected device, I get 900ish up and down speeds, give or take depending on the time of day. If I do a speed test with a 5G device(S10+) I get 400-500 up and down, which is not bad, but leaves some bandwidth on the table. I decided to get this Asus with WiFi 6 to see if I could bridge the gap between the factory AT&T Modem/Router (ARRIS BGW210-700). I set the AT&T in bridge mode, setup the asus, optimized the wifi settings and started to do some testing. On average I would get 200-300 Mbps up and down, and on very rare occasions, I would hit 400's and every more rare, 500 Mbps. On top of that, all of my 2.4Ghz devices (door bell camera) had horrible connections as compared to the ARRIS modem/router. I wanted SOOO badly for this to work and for it to be a nice worth while upgrade, but after 6 days of use, I decided to return it. I'm not sure why the WiFi 6 was not better, but arguably worse than the AC wifi router from AT&T. My suggestion if you are doing this to get more speed out of wifi is to save your receipt. Do your testing and if it is not better (and tha's why you purchased it) return it.

    I installed this with AT&T fiber/wifi modem all in one. I was trying to decide between mesh and just a single router that would provide better coverage. I decided to try this first. Glad I did. I have decent coverage through the entire house now (2 story, 4,300 sq ft.). No need for mesh. I've had it going for 3 weeks now, and no issues at all. It's fast and provides excellent coverage. Setup was super easy.

    This router was easy to setup. It took like 5-minutes tops. After doing research I realized there was no point in buying an expensive gaming router. Its simply overkill unless I had a huge home which J don't. This router is more than fast enough for my situation. It fixed all my speed problems with my Xbox Series X. Id highly recommend it if you are looking for a good router with high speeds for a decent sized place.

    Great value. I have over 50 devices when you count all the computers, tvs, phones, tablets, streaming devices, printers. Many evenings we've got 4 or 5 people streaming different video content at the same time -- no issue. I have a 2 story 2500 sq foot home -- no dead spots. (Install in center of home) Easy to setup and administrate.

    Love this router so far. The setup menus easy to use. Having tried port forwarding yet - but I'm guess it'll be easy too. This router replaced my Netgear Nighthawk which kept having connection issues. This router ran all day without hiccups and only took a few minutes to setup up. I used all the same SSIDs and passwords - so I didn't have to setup all the devices in my house again;}

    Had purchased this to replace another brand's router, due to continuous 5GHz dropouts. This unit has been working well without issues. We have about 25 wireless devices on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. Range is great where I can get solid 5GHz reception throughout entire hours (2200sqft, installed first floor corner can get opposite side of house 2nd floor and basement..full bars).

    Needed a new router and decided on the Asus AX-3000. It's been installed for over a month now with absolutely no problems at all. Has good coverage and was very easy to set up. There have been no 'hiccups' at all. Very happy with the purchase.

    Works quite well. It gives strong signal to all parts of my two-story house. The router interface/bios is very nice - lots of options and easy to use. Don't expect a big upgrade in signal quality or speed unless you have a WiFi 6/802.11AX device to connect to it. I did however notice a slight quality and speed boost to my Xbox Series X that runs WiFi 5/AC, but not much, and the device still has very volatile wireless connection, but that is the Xbox's fault.

    Issues with 5 GHz band

    This router was easy to set up and its performance is excellent in general. However, I had difficulty with some devices on the 5 GHz band. A Dell laptop refused to join the 5 GHz channel and would only connect on 2.4 GHz, I also noticed that iPhones and iPads would prefer 2.4 GHz even when close to the router. I followed some advice I found online and went into advanced setup options to tweak the settings for SmartConnect. This seemed to do the trick and these devices were now able to stay on the 5 GHz band

    At first I was skeptical to change from the other two name brands we always see in routers, but I was thoroughly pleased by how easy this was to set up. The advanced features are also there if you need them, but you could easily guide a parent or family member through the set up by phone if you had to. The performance is great and I love how I am now able to take advantage of the new wireless technology in newer phones and devices. Speed and connectivity are also great!

    Replaced my provider’s router with this one

    My internet provider charges $5/mo for a base router that doesn’t get the job done. When I was told you could bring your own router, I jumped on this one. For the price, it gets the job done. Totally overclocks the maximum speed. I download and upload 5x faster than before. The setup is incredibly easy, just plugs into your modem and then follow the steps for the router login which is displayed on the quick setup guide.

    Excellent router to use with iMesh with my ASUS AC-88U router to create a more useful home network with broader coverage across my whole house. Super fast. I connected this via LAN cable to my hub router on one end of house, and this serves as a node, providing super fast high reliability access on opposite end of house. Awesome. Highly recommend it, even for primary router. Gaming capability to increase game data throughput and prioritization of access.

    Excellent router. I am a beta tester for Spacex’s Starlink. Starlink works great, except for the router that comes along with the dish. I had spotty reception in my house and my Echo devices seemed confused. I read on line that you can add a better router in place of the Starlink router. I bought this one and it is now everything works great. It’s faster, no dead spots in my house, and my Echo devices work perfectly now.

    This router replaced a 3-band router that cost twice as much as this router because it was overheating and failing multiple times a day. Not only does this router with only four antennae provide better and more consistent coverage, but the happy addition of WiFi6 (AX) band which really screams. The AC bandwidth is off the charts as we’ll, much faster than my previous router. Setup was a breeze and it is also very configurable to meet the various user needs. Advanced configuration is available through a comprehensive web hi, while the mobile app should meet the needs of most users.

    Bought this unit to replace an Asus unit that was several years old and had failed. I didn't need all the bells and whistles that a lot of the more expensive units had. This one is nearly identical to the one that failed. It has everything the old one had and is very secure. Good replacement for my needs at a reasonable price.

    Very powerful Wifi router with great software interface. The setup is fast, speed is fast, and range is great. I have not had any network connection drop outs or issues. Never have to reset the router. The admin interface has all the settings you need and there's even an open-source community dedicated to making open source firmware to use with this router.

    As with all Asus products, this one does not disappoint. It replaced my 7 year old Asus router that was finally starting to die. This router seemed to be the best bang for the $$$ amount. I wanted something that I wouldn't have to replace in 2 years because it was out of date, but I didn't want a $400 dollar monster either. This provided me with the best speeds, coverage, and what I wanted for the price. It handles multiple devices at once and handles gaming just fine.
