Wifi speed is slow
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I configure this as a router and the wifi speed is less than 50% of lan speed. I worked with support and they could not get it any faster. Also, buy from Microcenter since Best Buy has decided to not support small businesses that are resellers. I guess it is ok for them to make money, just not us.

Not Thrilled!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the 2nd ASUS router I've purchased. The first one was much easier to integrate into my components than this one, and this one is simply not on par with the first.

MUCH Better Choices Out there for the Money
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm an advanced user for computers/networking and I have to say I should have read the reviews more closely. There are SEVERAL reviews stating the 5ghz band just randomly drops out, you cant connect to it, and devices are just off the network. This has happened to me and its a daily thing. I do indepth tech support from home using a soft phone so its extremely easy to see when I have bandwidth issues, I had to switch over to a wired connect since purchasing this low quality piece of junk. I really should have stayed with Nighthawk. There are some positives with this router but the negatives greatly outweigh the positives. -Traffic analyzer -AiProtection -Decent looking UI Negatives -Alexa is extremely gimmicky and pointless - no point in using it -QoS is extremely unstable and watch the CPU get pounded, thats what she said -5GHz band is extremely unstable and I have drop outs and several devices dropping off, I have already had comcast out here and they have verified I have a clean signal coming in -Range isnt impressive -Cost -Their "techs" have no idea what they are doing, unless I lucked out with getting 2 techs that seemed like it was their first day. If you want anything done try and reach tier 2 Overall this is an overpriced $200 router with a couple features that are good but the performance and reliability of this is TERRIBLE. Return it if you can and go Nighthawk.

Worked for a few weeks, now I have to reboot daily
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bestbuy rep recommended this router. Its router and support are garbage. It keeps disconnecting every device and now reboot at least twice daily. I called customer support and they sent me a random link for troubleshooting to my email. No help at all. Do not buy this router, so not make the same mistake I made.

Was Good While It Lasted
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When it was working normally, it was great! However, last month we had a power outage due to a storm and this product did not survive. All of my electronics are on power surge protectors around the house, and all of them survived the power outage, EXCEPT this one. Specifically the ethernet ports are completely dead, whatever chip controls that got fried. Lack of quality internals or protections inside the router were subpar and now I have a very expensive paperweight. Browsing online discussions, it seems this unit has particularly weak internals. If you live somewhere that has power flickers at all, DO NOT purchase this. If you live somewhere free of storms and natural disasters and have steady electric, go for it.

Posted .Dear Valued Customer,
I'm truly sorry to hear that your Ethernet port is completely dead after a power outage. This is absolutely not the kind of experience we want any of our customers to have. Certainly, power outages can damage hardware components, and we have no control over that. If you have any concerns, feel free to reach out to me at customerloyalty@asus.com and provide this link for reference. I'll do my best to provide a quick resolution to your case. Less than a week NOTHING but headaches.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, decided to cut the cable BUT use some of the money to subscribe to a VPN. The VPN company stated the ISP router would not be adaptable unless I did a bunch of tech stuff like flash it. I can build PCs, I can do very basic things and when shown or told I can pretty much make anything work. Chose Asus because I like their product, just built a PC with an Asus mobo (Z490 ROG Strix E) and an Asus monitor (PA278) This router is supposed to work well with the VPN company I chose. First upon the simple (and it is simple) set-up, I received no signal from the modem to the router. Called Asus and they helped me get a signal. I was willing to put that down as perhaps I made a mistake. Tried to install the VPN and when VPN was activated a loss of internet on the PC but not the 2 Rokus. Contacted the VPN company who worked on it from their end and couldn't find an issue. Contacted Asus again and again, they helped but when the VPN was on the PC was offline EVEN hardwired into the router. Had a professional come in to set up the network. He did but VPN drops download from 200+MBPS - >50. He told me to contact the VPN company again... they had me run some configs and nothing. I would call again, but and I know it is something that companies do to keep prices down, but when I can't understand a single word the phone help is saying (because I can't be online if working on the internet with possible outages, due to the working on it.) So, I won't call them, asking them to repeat and talk slower makes me feel embarrassed. I rarely complain about the telephone outsources because it is what it is, but Asus' by far the worst. So, while it FINALLY, gets me signals to everything I need the fact that a hardwired PC's download speed drops 75% is frustrating and I would return it but with the market the way it is with stock on shelves down (bought the last one) and the need for one that handles wifi6 AND VPN there may not be anything else available. It breaks my heart to have to write this review because as I stated I truly like Asus products.

Posted .Dear PanCDCA,
We do understand the disappointment and inconvenience this may caused if you are experiencing stability and connection speed issue.
The router supports speed of 574 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 2402 Mbps on the 5GHz band, it will provide the maximum speed the ISP provides. If speed is slow and connection is unstable, please verify if the ISP modem is working properly, meets the system requirements of the ASUS router and configured correctly.
Should you need further assistance with the router, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than happy to help. Or, you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent at: http://bit.ly/AsusLiveChat.
Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

Rodel
