Please allow us to make your experience with ASUS a better one. We would recommend that you try changing the channel bandwidth of each band of 2.4 GHz to 20 MHz, and for 5GHz please select 60MHz. Test each of the channels first for improved stability. You can also do the speed test for each. Poor support from the manufacturer.

I returned it after 3 consecutive weeks of this happening.

Works great then locks up

When it works it's great with no lag with a bunch of devices streaming but i have had to restart the thing twice now because it locks up. I realize it's not working when I check the cameras and can't see anything. Then i can't check cameras until I get home because i have to restart the router. Nothings working until I get home. Very disappointing

Failed after warranty ended

Always had trouble with it connecting to 5 GHz band, but it still did what I wanted, though slower, so I ignored the problem. Now it doesn't connect to the internet, tells me it is an issue with my ISP, only thing is I have the cable from my modem that was connected to the router connected to my computer and am writing this review on the internet. Funny how the router crapped 2 months after the warranty ran out.

Service or Router?

Was a great router until I got updates

I also bought a second one and put it in a mesh. However, with each update over the last 6 months it got increasingly unstable to the point I could not keep an internet connection to my gigabit FIOS for more than a couple of days. I would often wake up in the morning to "no internet" messages. A reboot DOES NOT fix it and it requires a power cycle to re-establish a connection to the ISP. Wireless connections are also unstable requiring a reboot to regain connections, especially to SMART phones. All of this occurs with nothing in the log to indicate a problem other than an occasional "Your ISP's DHCP is broken" message! Other issues were DDNS registrations stopped working with one update. IPv6 tunnelling stopped working and other issues. I'm really disappointed in their firmware and wish they could get it right because there is a lot to like about it IF it was stable and updates didn't make things worse. I tried resetting to factory and reconfiguring with no luck. I'm out hundreds for two of these that are no longer useable.

Ok but not as fast as expected

I’d be as bold as to say it was worse in some instances. Ended up returning and keeping the spectrum issued router.

Just ok no improvement

Went downhill couple weeks after setup.

After, I've already had wifi stop broadcasting, so not able to connect until I restarted the router. Now it seems like if my desktop is using all my internet bandwidth, wifi doesn't transmit any data to my phone or laptop. And the web interface is just garbage.

The router is good but Parental feature sucks

Thought it would be better with this model. What makes it so hard for that feature. Shame ASUS. Should have bought the Linksys 3200.

asus terrible router

After 8 technician visits, it was escalated to a higher level tech, he was in my house over 2 hours and showed me the readings he was getting from the cable and modem, it was from 1100 to over 1200 mbps, when he connected to the router the signal was unstable and readings were from 54 to 400 mbps. Asus customer service is terrible, I don't recommend this router or company. stability issues.

Routers USB drive? Forget about it!

It took several days to find something that would work to allow accessing that USB memory stick on each of my three PCs. The published information that came with the router did not work with Windows 11. At all. I finally found something that worked somewhat OK in you tube. Setting up everything else on this router was quite simple, as it should be.
