Couldn't get it to work

I owned an older version of this router for several years. I started to have some problems with it, so I decided to simply replace it with this newer version. I could not get internet to work through WiFi connections, although it worked when connecting through ethernet. I tried everything I could, including calls to Asus (which were fairly helpful), but could not get it to work. I returned it and bought a Netgear router recommended by a Best Buy associate, and had it setup and working within 30 minutes.

BUY A NETGEAR, THIS IS TRASH

Hulu, Netflix, and streaming won't work, when they do it's 360p you might as well watch paint dry. Online gaming by time it loads you're already dead and two rounds in. Customer service doesn't exist after months of being referred to geek squad who charged you then you might find an email address and they'll just give you the run around. $200 down the drain, no casting, no streaming, no gaming, pathetic wifi even if you have fiber internet. Do yourself a favor and BUY NETGEAR. I've been using the hotspot on my phone for months because this router is so horrible.

Bad in congested spectrum

Cuts out completely to restore a connection and meanwhile you’re without a connection. In apartments or townhouses I would not use.

Absolute Trash

The setup experience requires a messy, confusing app, the device won't connect to the internet, the reset process failed multiple times - told me it was reset, then magically had all the same settings I was trying to reset - and the troubleshooting process is useless. Save yourself the hassle and buy LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE.

Constant disconnect’s

Not worth the trouble.

I followed all instruction and this thing gave me nothing so glad i just stuck with the guy knowledgeable in this area.

It’s okay I guess.

Poor warranty turn around, overpriced.

I've bought a $80 router right after this that I've been using for over 24 months now without a problem. Warranty replacement would have taken 3-4 weeks, overpriced.

No so good

Waste of Money / Unreliable

So when I wanted to upgrade, I went with Asus. This one lasted just past the warranty and no longer works. I'm annoyed, there's no reason a router like this, at this price point should brick with normal to light use in less than 2 years.

It started flaking out in August of 2021 - no internet available and a red light on the router. I am just grateful that I purchased an extended warranty so I can return this device. I’m very disappointed on the reliability of ASUS routers and will look for a different brand.

We certainly understand the inconvenience if you are experiencing internet connection issues.
To resolve the internet connection issue, please do a power cycle on both router and the ISP's modem, wait couple of minutes before powering on the modem first. Check if the LEDs status on the modem are normal then power on the router. If there's issues with the modem LED, please contact your ISP to test their modem and internet connection from their end. Also, check if the router is within 30 feet to the ISP's modem, no obstructions that can cause interference if not wired by a network cable, and ISP's internet service or connection is working properly or stable.

LANS DON'T WORK, FREQUENT LOSS OF WiFi

I gave it 3 weeks and finally gave up on it and put my old router back. NONE of the Lans work and I did all the tips I could find on the internet. The devices connected via WiFi, frequently couldn't find the signal. Not one or two devices, ALL the devices struggled to stay connected to the internet. DO NOT BUY! Unless you are in the mood to buy junk.
