I purchased this router to replace my Nighthawk R8000 which is about 5 years old and was not giving me full bandwidth. The ASUS router is giving me my full bandwidth of 600Mb download. Setup was a breeze and the mobile app is great. Very pleased with the performance as I have 24 devices attached including a Honeywell thermostat, various tablets firesticks Blu-ray players etc. It handles them all with ease.

I upgraded from my solid RT-AC68U as I upgraded my internet to 600Mbps and needed something that could handle speeds over 350-400 wirelessly. This one looked as the best options and Asus has been solid for me over the years. I get consistently over 500Mbps with WiFi 6 devices. The Hughes speed I’ve seen is 560Mbps, but we know there are too many variables that affect WiFi speeds, so I’m pretty happy with it.

I was in need of a faster wireless router since everything recently became remote. I also wanted a router that would last or keep up with next gen WiFi, so that meant I needed WiFi 6. I pay for 150 Mbps internet, and this router gets me pretty close to that speed with an average of 130 Mbps. The router does stop working sometimes if I’m gaming or using lots of bandwidth for long duration of time. It takes about 5-10 minutes for the router to start working again even after a power cycle and reboot.

The range is everything to look out for with this router. Asus software is as recognizable as it has always been so ease of use was superb. Gaming QoS and Streaming bottleneck is non existent on my end. Of course I run a gigabit plan for full home coverage of about 20 devices. For the price it is decent and worth every cent. Will be buying the ax6000 when the opportunity arises.

Super easy to setup, range is terrific, and the app with it is very detailed and also easy to use. Really enjoy the control of my router through the app and descriptions you can add to it. Highly recommend

    Wifi 6 Value!

I chose this router after having some network disconnection problems with both Linksys and TP Link routers that I tried. I have since traced the disconnection issues to my ISP modem and simply having the ISP (Spectrum) send me an automated reset signal (as opposed to the tried and true power cycle) seems to have solved the issue. I'm keeping the ASUS AX3000 for 3 reasons over the other brands. The ASUS router software interface is just better and the firmware support lasts longer, the ability to create a mesh network if I so desire, and wi-fi 6 multi-device capabilities (I have a lot of IoT devices). That said I did have to do some tweaking of the network settings because some of the wifi 6 settings were not playing nice with my some of my older devices. Agile Multi-banding and Protected Management Frames were causing compatibility issues (also IGMP snooping to a lesser extent). My final point is this is a solid router and a great solution for my needs (and probably yours as well). There are more changes coming down the road in consumer wifi devices and routers but I expect to get 3-5 years or more out of this router which gives it top marks for value at this time.

Replaced a unit from another manufacturer that had an intermittent wi-fi radio. This unit was a little different, as it did not split the 2.4 and 5 GHz wireless into two separate sections, meaning one router ID shows up on devices rather than two, and I am guessing the router selects the highest speed connection. This has caused no issues and my 2.4 devices connected fine, and all the devices with either all connected at 5. The range was slightly farther than previous unit. A working connection can be maintained at a neighbors two houses down the street on the phones. Setup is simple, and the built in web portal makes adjusting just about anything quick and easy. I do not have any 802.11AX devices yet to connect to it, so cannot report on speeds or anything the new protocol supplies.

We recently purchased a new modem to replace our ISP modem/ router combo. This router reaches further than our old router. The setup was quite easy. It has a lot of bells and whistles but I'm not real tech savvy, so I've gone mostly with the default settings.

I bought this model Asus to replace the Asus I had used for the last 13 yrs. It was a decent setup and yields good coverage in a 1400 sq. ft. multi-story house. Reasonable speeds and support from Asus (firmware updates). Overall a decent router

Great replacement for my ATT router

I have ATT fiber and was completely sick of their supplied Pace modem/router. It runs low on memory/resources because there is no true bypass and it analyzes EVERY packet that goes thru it. Plus you can't tweak any useful settings. After digging around I figured out how to use this Asus with a dumb 5 port Netgear switch and put my old router in the corner. The amount of tweakable items on this is amazing. It also fixed some weird inbound NAT issues i was having on my IP cameras (probably because the old router had resource issues) The WiFi signal, unsurprisingly was way better than the ATT one as this has 4 MIMO antennas. I can't believe I waited so long to replace that old stinky router..now I'm thinking of putting Merlin firmware on it to tweak even more settings.

I have to say it was easy to set up with the app. I went through and did settings and finalized them only to discover I capitalized one letter mistakenly for our existing network. Reinitialized the router and went right through again no problem. The old router kept cutting out and had to be rebooted constantly. Don’t laugh, it was 20 years old but only recently started acting up when we starting streaming. This one has been solid so far. Split level house and the signal is strong everywhere on both floors with just the router even on 5g.

My house was recently hit by lightening which fried most of the electronic items in the house regardless of surge protectors. I purchased this router to replace a netgear ac1750. We saw noticeable gains in speed and signal strength. Happy with the purchase and ease of setup for a non-tech person.

It does have a problem with having too many devices on at once, but it's performance otherwise is fantastic! I would recommend having an AiMesh compatible with this router to boss performance in a large house. It's fast and the Wi-Fi 6 capability ensures future proofing. Would recommend highly of you have a small building.

I've been using this Asus RT-AX58U router for over 6 months. It provides a reliable network connection to my entire small house. WiFi 6 provides great throughput for all my wireless devices. This router seldom requires a reboot to operate properly, which is definitely a change from the previous Netgear routers I've owned.
