I bought this for my transition to fiber optic internet service. The coverage was a lot better than the bgw210 that came with the service. It reaches the front porch and backyard in my 2300 sq ft house after being installed in the living room, which is close to the back of the house if not near the center. We have around 15 devices connected including iot equipment, and all can be managed through the ASUS app. It’s been updated with several firmware revisions, which is encouraging. My first ASUS router, and it won’t be the last. Highly recommend!

Bought this router in 2020 and I gotta say I will definitely be buying another Asus router. I still get updates and new features added. The amount of things you can configure and tune is pretty awesome especially if you like having it setup for security purposes or whatever you aiming for so for those advanced users who know networking this is the one for you if you want an off the shelf router which I think is possible for you to flash your own firmware of choice but I haven't tried that yet. For those non tech nerds who just want a good router this is also perfect for you I highly recommend it for everyone.

Nothings runs better than an ASUS modem or router always will recommend

This router should meet the needs of a small or large home. For larger homes, the aiMesh feature is really nice and allows multiple routers to work together in a mesh mode to ensure the signal is a quality signal through the whole home. Really like the hardware, easy to configure and customize!

Excellent router. Easy setup and App is user friendly.

Based on Price/Performance the ASUS ax3000 is an excellent router for both WiFi and wired connectivity. It boasts a triple-core 64-bit 1.5GHz processor which facilitates both WiFi and wired connections (most current routers have dual-core processors for this price range). In addition, ASUS’s AiProtection (which is Trend Micro’s) Malware and Intrusion Prevention is included free of charge to provide an extra layer of protection to your network as a whole. However, Anti-Malware is still needed on clients. Moreover, Next Gen Encryption (WPA3) is included for the future when devices become available with this encryption ability. I highly recommend this product.

Easy setup, supports multi bandwidth, great app for controlling your devices

It took a few tries to get it setup with aimesh. Ended up I had to connect to my main router as a repeater first to get it online, upgrade the firmware and then reconfigure it as aimesh node. I have 3 ASUS aimesh routers in my 91 year old 2 story house with walls with super thick wood back plaster that blocks wifi. One now in the family room, one in office diagonally across the house with ethernet backbone and this unit upstairs then using the rj45 ports to connect bedroom TV and Tivo mini to my main tivo. Speeds, signal and bandwidth now are rock solid around my house without the multiple SSIDs I had previously with various access points which are now gone.

Overall this is a fantastic router with latest gen wireless tech and fantastic signal strength. The main reason I choose the ASUS router over Netgear and Linksys was the fact that ASUS’s Adaptive QoS allows you to set a “Bandwidth Limiter” for each device on your network. Limiting how much download/upload data can be used, mainly for the 4K streaming devices I have in my home. Unfortunately for the RT-AX58U this feature is broken at the firmware/software level. I have xfinity, and due to the recent addition of a couple of 4K TV’s in our household we went going over our 1TB data cap that xfinity imposes. Our household had averaged 400-500GB’s per month for years, never even coming close. We bring 2 4K TV’s in the home and it literally doubled our data usage. It’s not hard to see why, a hour of 4K viewing uses 7-8GB of data verses 2GB for HD viewing. Fortunately xfinity gives you 2 face months, but then it starts costing big time. I shopped for a solution and this ASUS RT-AX58U fit the price point and features perfectly. Plus being one of the only brands that lets you really control what devices on you home network use in data was exactly what I was looking for. But the bandwidth limits for specific devices do not work at all (i.e. 5Mb/sec for HD vs 20-25Mb/sec for 4K). I spent the better part of the day searching forums and ASUS support trying to figure it out. Used the latest firmware, even older firmware. Even exchanged the router for another one at Best Buy, and it did the same thing. No matter what I set the download bandwidth at (5Mb/sec) for the specific device, the router would allow for full download speed (20-25Mb/sec). I ended up returning the router and purchased another ASUS router, the RT-AC3100. It was a bit more than the RT-AX58U, and previous gen tech, but it worked flawlessly. That router had no trouble setting bandwidth limits. I now have my 2 4K TV’s and my Roku streaming device set to 5Mb/sec download. The image quality isn’t 4K, but it still looks great, and it’s keeping me from reaching my xfinity data limit

I bought this router because I've always had good experiences with ASUS products and my Nighthawk router was having all kinds of wireless connection issues. The AX3000 was SUPER easy to setup, customize and get working. My download / upload speeds are perfect and the wireless is working great. If this thing continues to perform this way I'll never buy another router from anyone other than ASUS. Also, the admin interface is amazingly intuitive and very capable.

It was very easy to set up and it guides you thru the entire process. Set up was about 10 mins.
