I had always had Netgear routers. But the Nighthawk I bought was more of a Nightmare. I tried another brand but it didn’t work with my VPN so I ended up with this. Easy Setup great coverage and speed and awesome features. Asus is my new favorite brand for routers.

AWESOME router for a small apartment

I bought this after noticing my phone wifi being more terrible than usual. I was replacing a TP-Link AC 1750 (AKA the literal cheapest gigabit router on the market). Turned out, my phone update was what sabotaged the wifi and it wasn't the router at all. Despite this, I kept the new one anyway because it's SO. MUCH. BETTER. in every other aspect. We're in a relatively small apartment, and still had separate routers set up in each room because the signal on the 1750 just wasn't strong enough to reach (so we wound up buying a second 1750 because they're cheap). After installing the AX3000 and testing it without the second router, the signal on the other end of the apartment went from an average of 5mbps to 300mbps. Needless to say, we disconnected the second router as it's not even necessary anymore. Signal is great, and there are plenty of options in the router BiOS for port forwarding, passwords, and various other networking settings with an intuitive UI. All in all, well worth the price.

Our WiFi router went out during the second week of COVID-19 quarantining. We had to rush to get a new one. The reviews on this product were spot on. It was very simple to install and set up. It provides great coverage throughout our house (2-story, 1800 sq ft). Setting up multiple networks was very simple and connecting to each was smooth.

This router has so far been easy to use and reliable. The app on IOS is not for initial set up (port forwarding and very detailed control options) but after using the web portal for that the app makes accessing your router very easy and friendly. I have had no issues connecting to the device or the device not sending a network signal. Very reliable indeed!

I bought this because I wanted a quality router without paying over $200, and it definitely meets my expectations. Devices in my house were having connectivity issues using my ISP supplied device, but no longer do. It doesn't drop connections, just make sure you follow instructions (and if you're using it with ISP supplied modem/router, log into that device and shut off WiFi on it). Also, never buy devices like this online through the usual market vendors since the device ID, S/N, MAC, etc are all printed on the outside label. Only buy them from from a store such as BestBuy. The $10, if even that, that you save is not worth the risk of someone else having the device data. It's been about a week and it's running solid, no issues, no dropped connections. **Star ratings are based on the routers in this unit's price range. Of course, you can always buy a $300+ router and get longer range and better signal strength.

Every router in the world will have bad reviews, people and networking don't always play nice. This one is a winner in my book, strong signal, wifi 6, has the option of meshing the 2.4 and 5GHz signals or separating them, depending on needs (My old router didn't have this, it's a welcome change!). For my needs, it's perfect.

This router is outstanding. I'm currently using it in AP mode to extend my FIOS service out to my apartment from where the FIOS ONT is in my uncle's house over a COAX MOCA network that I setup. The coverage is phenomenal in both 2.4 G and 5G which I have separated.

Very stable connection. The Wifi 6 works very well. The range has been very good as well as both channels having excellent range for this class of router. It has been in use close to a month and has proven to work better than my previous router made by N**G***. The warranty and support are also very good.

    Great router especially with Ai-Mesh

I've got a pair of this configured as a mesh network using the excellent ASUS iPhone App. The first AX3000 I bought when it first came out and was using an older ASUS router that supported Ai-Mesh as an extension for my network. I decided to replace the older router with a second AX3000. All works really well. I've got full coverage throughout a good sized 2-story house and with 26 devices all suckling bandwidth from the network, it manages it very well. None of these devices are little smart home devices either. With everything from Apple TV 4K, 3 PS4s, 7 gaming PCs, 3 MacBooks, and a half dozen iPads, 4 iPhones, and 3 Roku streaming boxes all running at the same time, these two AX3000's handle all that load perfectly. (We're a very big family). I've had other Mesh network devices and they're just awful. Plume was the worst. I'm very pleased with ASUS's devices and their iPhone App. Even when I'm traveling overseas and running off satellite data connection, I'm able to manage the network from within the App; once even remotely adding an Ai-Mesh device to the network for my wife and kids.

In my experience, Asus makes a great router - setup is easy for a novice, extremely customizable for an advanced user, and overall simply reliable. Sure, you can spend a lot more on a high end gaming router, but if you don't need all of the fancy leds and whistles you won't go wrong at this price point.

Easy to install with proper and easy to understand directions. I've used this product for 3 months without any issues and have been able to completely control it remotely and monitor it via my laptop. It provides me with excellent Wi-Fi signal across 3800 sq ft space where I stream HD on multiple devices. I highly recommend it!

Intuitive design and a great product made by asus. I purchased this to move my home network up to wifi 6 (Ax protocol) and it is blazing fast. You get 1 gig speeds through wifi no problem. Make sure you update network cards or purchase in to the new protocol (wifi 6/ wireless Ax) to take full advangtage.
