Was very impressed
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve spent $400 on routers for several years with upgraded processors, wireless tech, and gaming centric features. All had some level of issues in performance or with software. This time I went with this unit and was presently surprised for the $179 price tag. It’s been stable with great wireless coverage, and my ping stays consistent with low latency and handles are large amount of devices well. Out performs the $400 routers Also love the security and parental control features

Much better than eero and other Wifi 6
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a modest 2500 sq.ft home with a back office I had trouble getting a strong signal and speeds in. Tried eero and the stock comcast router but neother were able to give me speeds close to my 400mbps plan speed. This ASUS product gets me 350-450 mbps, which is solid. i love the fact that you can change the direction of the external antennas. Setup is easy and the app/web interface are solid, but could be challenging for a novice. But still, that doesn't mean you'll have trouble setting it up. Buy it- i think its a good value for the price and build quality is solid.

Very happy with this router!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted Wi-Fi 6 and at first, bought something else...which crashed at least 3 times over 2 days, so looked into the AX3000...So glad I did. Very happy with the performance and the administrative tools (web and mobile app). Liked it so much, I bought a second one for my basement office, using the AiMesh...It was a small hassle to get them to pair; but, once I did, I've been very happy with the entire system. I like the performance and bandwidth reporting, as well as the VPN options. Two of these systems seem to be covering almost 3000 sq. ft without any issues!

Quick and easy installation and effective WiFi
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to install and provides excellent coverage for my entire home and my back yard and patio. I turned off my Verizon Fios WiFi and hooked this router up as an access point using an Ethernet cable. Worked out very well as a replacement for my old Apple Airport Extreme Wifi. Also got a discount from Best Buy by recycling an old Router.

Great product with (maybe too many) great features
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this with a Aris SB800 (?) modem to replace my Mediacom Xfinity gateway rental. A little bit of set up required, and some features had to be changed/reduced to work with the devices I had connecting to it, but all is well now that I got those things set up. I would say that's maybe the one downside to someone who has (unknowingly) a specific need for it, but without the technical know how to set it up correctly. I hear that Asus support isn't the greatest so for those people I could see them maybe having trouble. I am able to connect two Xbox Series counsels via wifi, with my PC connected via ethernet, multiple smart tvs and phones via wifi. The two Xbox's were not "getting along" which is the extra steps I had to take (turned off Smart Connect to create two separate 2.4ghz and 5ghz connections, and changed the bandwidth of those to be optimal for the layout of my house and neighboring networks). The Xbox's are now getting along, with an Open NAT on both, and receiving the expected download speed on a 5ghz connection.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was easy to setup, prompts on what it needs. Minor.. using the app to connect and tweek worked on phone but not when I used laptop. May be a firewall or browser blocking . Its fast using 3.1

Wifi6, Great features, disabled for legacy devices
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for the advertised features, smart connection, wifi6, etc. Could not keep network cards connected on any computer in the house for more than a few minutes at a time. Finally contacted ASUS support. Was walked through disabling smart connection, (now there are two separate networks, 2.4 and 5 GHz. To the plus side, now the computers connect and stay connected. But this definitely eliminates one of the reasons I purchased the router. This replaced a Linksys WRTAC1900 router that had been unreliable at best, requiring hard resets at an increasing rate. When I was no longer able to connect to specific websites, the Linksys had to go. First non-Linksys router I've owned in over 10 years. Will see how it holds up. If you don't mind the loss of Smart Connection for legacy network cards, might be a good option. I'm in the middle on offering a recommendation, but there isn't a maybe option.

Posted .Dear JBFree,
Thank you for taking the time to write this in depth review. I'm sorry to hear that you are having compatibility issues with your computers' network cards, please accept my apologies. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control, testing and inspections. What you've experienced was not intentional or representative of our brand. Could you please provide me with more information about your network configuration, including your current firmware version on the router and the model names of your computers' network cards? This router should be able to connect to older hardware without disabling Smart Connection. I'd like to investigate your case for quality control. Please reach out to me at [email protected] and include case #N191078151 in your email for reference.
Thank you for choosing ASUS!
Best regards,
