I'm a lifelong linksys router fan. I saw this mid-level ASUS model and decided to give it a try. So far, I am blown away by the quality and amount of features it has. If you have any experience configuring a router using the web interface, you will have no problems with this model. Wifi speeds are a huge improvement over my Linksys EA6350 and there are no issues with signal strength throughout my house.

We just got fiber to the house and my "old" router maxed out at 100Mbs. Set up on the ASUS was very easy and immediately bumped connection speeds from below 100 to close to 400 (my fiber maxes at 500). It connects to all areas of our 2500 square foot house but speeds drop significantly the more walls there are between the device and the router. I'll be adding a second ASUS to service the second floor

Our old router was clearly underpowered for our home. We had no connectivity in our bedroom. With our new router we are getting 40 Mbs in the bedroom. In my home office, speeds improved from 10-20 Mbs to 90-100 Mbs. The Geek Squad (Totaltech) installed it for us. He arrived promptly and did the set-up quickly.

The router is stable, works well, and recovers from power or service outages by itself, so far. Like almost all routers, it is hard to mount on the wall (where pets cannot get to the antennae or connections). The slots for screws in the back are hard to line up with screws put into the wall. What would be wrong with a through-screw hole or two at the edge of the circuit board?

Simply an amazing piece of technology all around in the WiFi market. I would say my compliants here but it’s just been amazing for me and my internet service provider. I am signed up for 300 mbps internet but this router is able to give me around 315 mbps consistently all over my home while having amazing app support which can control all specs of WiFi networking. Excellent product overall !!

Upgraded from wifi 5 to 6 using this router thru Spectrum service. Works GREAT. Network is stable not like before where I had to reboot my old router couple days at a time. I have over 15 devices on this router in a 3200 sqft home with an extender upstairs and its solid. I dont hear my college kids complain about the netowork being spotty anymore. The 5 and 2.4 ghz are solid connections.

Needed to replace a Netgear router that got zapped. This ASUS router works great, and was very easy to set up. I kept the same SSID and Passwords as my old router. So all my devices connected to the new router with no issues.

I wanted to replace our router, which was starting to show its age. I have used Asus routers before, so, based on the speed and features of this one, I bought it. The AX3000 was easy to set up, and we're getting increased wireless speeds. As a bonus, it was on sale for $20 off the regular price

I'm very happy with this router, other than being fast and reliable, most routers that I bought break within the first 6 months because of the workload, I've had this router for over 2 years and it's still going strong. VPN feature comes real handy when traveling over seas. Highly recommend!

Not much different from the more expensive model

I'm happy with this router now that I bought it, but when I was trying to comparison shop, the specs were really confusing. I'm still not sure whether this router (RT-AX58U) is the same hardware as the RT-AX3000. Some people say it is, and only the firmware is different, and others say the hardware itself is different. The specs on the BestBuy site say it doesn't have a firewall (which would be really strange for any router in this day and age)--it does. It was also really unclear whether buying this model would come with a pro-plan lifetime internet security subscription (I forget what Asus calls it), like the more expensive RT-AX3000. It does. Overall, I'm glad I bought it instead of the more expensive model. I was also pleasantly surprised at the small footprint, since my desk is already pretty crowded.
