After upgrading firmware, zero issues. Wifi is stable. Only negative is this is not currently supported by Merlin firmware.

Performance good so far. Set up from the ASUS site is pretty average. Options for the unit’s performance and settings choices thorough and useful. Support and troubleshooting from ASUS.com might have been developed by the writers for Laurel and Hardy’s “Who’s on first, what’s on second, I don’t know is on third.” Inconsistent formatting for information fields, endless looping in the chat section, dead ends that do not complete the inquiry’s journey, repeating screens requesting information they don’t need. Time to again watch Bill Murray again on Groundhog Day, again. Thus two stars, again. In store help was great.

Great router for mid-size apartment, no challenges with setup or configuration. Software is good, not perfect but good enough to get you through what you need.

Can't complain, does what it's supposed to but wish that the signal traveled further through the house. When signal is strong its great when signals weak... Meh not so much.

Does a great job on multiple connections, VR, Streaming video, ect. I have had no issues like disconnects. It has worked flawlessly for me.

Was easy to hook up has great features fast connection... I have had netgear and linksys and always had issues! Love Asus products

I got this router expecting to fasten my internet connection but instead it did the complete opposite and slowed down my internet. I spent almost 200$ just for this to slow down my internet. Don’t waste your money because this router is a waste of money and time

Speed were pretty low where I couldn't play any games. Lots of people in my house using the wifi, but this bad boy did the trick and now im gaming with ease

This router makes my modem connection drop from time to time and I am unable to reach my max speed when I hook it up to my router ( I am on xfinity gigabit speed). I used the Lan ports multiple time and it is frustrating to see that a wire connection only reaches 250mb instead of my gigabit speed. It's Lan speed is exactly the speed of my wifi. So what's the point of being wired at that point then. The wifi is awesome though, it really works well and the signal strength from upstairs to the basement I can reach the max speed of wifi still.

Since I've had this router, I've no complaints! It's a stylish unit, the interface is easy to work with and offers a lot of features!

This router was amazing when I first hooked it up. We had much faster speeds on our gaming consoles, PCs, and mobile devices. However, all of our Rokus had trouble connecting and some of our smart home devices kept disconnecting. It was nice to have super fast gaming speeds, but hardly worth it when you can't use smart lights or streaming devices. Perhaps ours was defective. Either way, this was the first and likely the last Asus router I will ever buy.

Awesome router, does everything you could want and than some. I highly recommend it. Only down side is that the antennas don't unscrew from the back of the router.

So far the router is working like a charm, with great internet security.

Amazing router! It literally covers my house better than a mesh system. Worth every penny! Setup is not as intuitive as newer mesh systems but that somewhat expected with a “gaming” router.

I updated from my old router that was still working fine. I find that the speed is not as fast as my other router and the distance is about the same. Need to go into the settings and try changing them to see if I can increase the overall speed.

Works well, but instructions required outside help. A required info was not in the box or on the item. Also, my current system has a combined modem/router. The instructions were not helpful in how to turn off the router portion of the combined modem/router.

After my old Netgear router quit, I needed a new one soon. I read the reviews, and decided that this was going to be a suitable replacement. I definitely have not been disappointed so far.

Excellent router, had the XR500 gaming router before and kept dropping connection during play. This one works flawlessly.

The router is everything expected. It’s likely more overpowered for my uses but better to have excess capacity rather than too little. The ability to prioritize through QOS is very nice.

Apparently i have 85+ devices on my network. I was hoping this would be able to handle the load but it became very unstable with many drops. If you can move up to the AX-86U or the AX-88U you'll probably have a much better experience. Better yet the AX-11000 is probably the single router to beat. ASUS makes really good routers and the ability to make them a mesh network just by adding another router is really a killer app. The 82U would make a great mesh add on if you have an existing setup already.
