    Good modem which seems to work well. Hard to figure out at first but once it's set up correctly, it works great.

    Gamers and streamers beware!

    All the reviews you read about after a few months of ownership is true. After 3 months of having this we have had nothing but issues. My husband is a gamer and we have a Xbox Series X and he can't play online with friends because of the constant lagging of internet ( and his Xbox is wired in). We only got this because we thought we would upgrade our Netgear. We owned our Netgear for 3 years with no issues with service. Our internet speed from spectrum is 400. Asus customer service is lacking because they will just repeat every step they have already done to try to fix the issues which never gets fixed. I've asked for a replacement and they avoid the question. I myself stream movies and i have to constantly deal with my movies pausing and the picture quality degrading. Overall I wouldn't recommend this product especially for gamers or people who like to watch movies.

    Did I get a bad one?

    As long time user of (2) Asus AC1900 (RT-AC68U) routers I was really disappointed that despite multiple attempts to install this router, NONE of the devices (20+) on my network will connect to it! Before doing anything I did indeed update to the latest firmware. I tried both WITH wifi 6 enabled and WITHOUT it being enabled, no change. My SSID's ARE separate (i.e.. MYSID and MYSID_5G). I also tried factory reset at least twice. ONLY My Galaxy S10, which is wifi 6 capable, will connect to this router. Oddly it shows/thinks? it is connected to wifi 6 no matter what settings are on the router (whether wifi 6 is enabled or disabled.) Perhaps this is part of the problem, that the router broadcasts in wifi 6 no matter what? VERY DISSAPOINTED ASUS! Will update this IF/WHEN things change, presumably after I spend hours on the phone with tech support because I have searched high and low online and can't seem to find anyone with similar problems or a fix that works, which is strange and further leads me to believe maybe I got a bad one.

      When the LED is on, press the button for 3 seconds to turn off the LED and Aura lighting.

      When the LED is off, press the button for 3 seconds to turn on the LED and Aura lighting.

    Slower speeds than I ever expected.

    Hmmm. Weird because I like ASUS as far as gaming goes. I had an ASUS pc. But this router was getting horrible speeds. I updated and tried everything to make it run to get better speeds. But this one is a no go for me. Especially at the price they ask. Note: maybe mine is defective but I won’t be getting another so I I won’t know for sure.

    Was not worth it

    Never really worked correctly. Ended up going back to my old router. This one would not hold a Wi-Fi connection even when close or far away. Had to reboot it constantly. Upgraded firmware and still did not fix the issue.

    Worst router I have ever had! Would not connect up to my smart lights, smartthings devices. Took hours to hook up my ring camera devices for them to work. any old devices you have will not connect up to this router!!

    Worked for two years. Had issues all two year with internet going out even had ISP look at it and it’s the router not my internet. Won’t buy again going back to Netgear!

    If you have more then 10 connections this does a poorly job on wifi. With technology these days they should be able to push out your internet. 800mps i pay for, and get around 100-200. There are better options out there would pass on this.

    Absolutely do not buy. Tried upgrading my 7 year old router with this one, it's catchy box labeling makes you think it is a giant improvement. Oh how wrong i was. We by no means have a large house and this router loses signal as soon as you leave the room it is in. My video buffers and pauses one room away, my TV resolution streaming Netflix or HBO is garbage. Put it back in the box, plugged my old router back in and will be returning this crap. Oh, and my old one was $100 cheaper, 7 years ago.
