The new Asus AX5400 has a much stronger signal and works great throughout the house. Don't use the app to set it up, call Asus Customer Service.

2.4Ghz band is Terrible

If you don’t need a good 2.4ghz band then this is great. 1 foot from router I get 100+ mbps and 10 feet away unobstructed getting barely 8 mbps on 2.4. Most smart home devices require a good 2.4ghz connection, but this router can not provide that. Will be returning as I am in the return period still.

We do understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing connection problems with 2.4GHz band with. Legacy devices may not work properly with WIFI-6, please check updates for these devices. You can try connecting these devices manually to 2.4GHz. Additionally, legacy devices were designed for IPv4 and will unlikely work with IPv6, try to disable IP46. Furthermore, update the firmware if the router is running with an older version, latest firmware version is posted at: https://www.asus.com/networking-iot-servers/wifi-routers/asus-gaming-routers/rt-ax82u/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=RT-AX82U .

I get high, consistent speeds on wifi and wired connections. The dedicated gaming port is a godsend. And the programmable LED lights add an great esthetic touch. I Highly recommend this router .

I only had it temporarily until I get a mesh system, but this held its own and if anything, it doubled the speeds that I pay for. Not only that but had full control of the wifi on the app.

Only issue it has kicked off my blink cameras, I had to reset it to make them reconnect, sucks that I wasn’t home so couldn’t have my usual peace of mind being able to watch over my blink cameras.

This one was recommended to me by the store employee. I even got a 15% discount for "trade-in" on the old one. It works really good and it hasn't disconnected , like to old one.

It puts out a strong, consistent signal and the speed is great! There are several devices connected with no lag or slow down on speed. Very Happy so far with this Router.

We don't think about it! it's just there, doing its job. It was relatively easy to install. There are a few spots outside the house where we don't have coverage, but no problems anywhere in our three level (basement family room, main floor, office upstairs) 2,000 square foot home. We do have two extenders still installed, because our former router was weaker. We still have one in the basement, and one in my office, which probably helps strengthen wireless signals.
