Good router; seems to need occasional reboots

I then did a swap of my main Asus AP (using the AiMesh system) to become the router, and bought the RT-AX82U to be my main AP. It works really well. My only complaint and why it did not receive 5 stars is that I sometimes notice my iPhone 12 intermittently disconnecting after it has been up and running for several weeks. It does mean I have to reboot it occasionally. Otherwise, I would recommend it, and I hope future firmware resolves an issue like that. I cannot speak to the gaming side of things as my online game play is pretty limited to a few Nintendo Switch games that are not latency sensitive.

This router is extremely fast, delivering 900mb/s over with WiFi over 5ghz band within 10 feet. WiFi also has great range. Ethernet is 998mb/s with a gigabit port.

It has a gaming port for prioritizing gaming traffic to only one device, but it works well. The stability and throughput is excellent on this router, granted my broadband only pushes 30 Mbs at best but this is a 1 Gps capable router. It will actually handle two connection for up to 2 Gps capability, but I'll never see that where I live. The router configuration is highly customizable, and due to my limited bandwidth I use the heck out of the QOS features. When I'm gaming I can crank my daughter's facetime traffic and gaming on PC is actually possible while she's doing it. Fantastic!

This was the 2nd one I had, 1st one died within 48 hrs. 2nd one has been functioning 5 days so far with no problems. The automatic setup didn’t. Required manual setup. The 5400 sq ft coverage doesn’t seem to be in my home. I’m replacing a 9 year old Linksys 8300 to upgrade the network security. The Linksys has greatly better coverage with them both in the same room 8 feet apart. As I said, decent for the price.

There have been no connectivity issues across any devices. It runs games on my laptop and my fiancés laptop with ease. When we needed to download the big new Minecraft update, we plugged our computers directly into it and got blazing fast speeds. Even after power outages, there have been no reconnection issues. This is a great purchase for those looking for a good internet experience at an affordable price. Great investment!
