Purchased this AX82U unit since it was an Asus and in stock. I don’t think the coverage is quite as good as the 86U but it is working well so far.

Great Unit, But Cheaper Options

I will say the router performed great in the house giving me optimal WiFi speeds all throughout the 2nd floor of my house acting as a second router upstairs. The reasoning behind my rating is because the price. I bought a Tenda AC23 router as well, that one performed better than this one but being 1/3 of the cost of it. It gave me better coverage and better WiFi speeds when hard wired to it. If you're looking for a good router that has better performance than this one look into the Tenda AC23.

This was the 2nd one I had, 1st one died within 48 hrs. 2nd one has been functioning 5 days so far with no problems. The automatic setup didn’t. Required manual setup. The 5400 sq ft coverage doesn’t seem to be in my home. I’m replacing a 9 year old Linksys 8300 to upgrade the network security. The Linksys has greatly better coverage with them both in the same room 8 feet apart. As I said, decent for the price.
