I've gone through quite a few routers throughout the years from Netgear, TP Link, Eero, Google, etc. I've seen good reviews on this one and thought sure, need a new one for my new home and this is by far the best out the box it's very beautiful and the lights are customizeable with different settings. The signal is fantastic for my 50's concrete walls (5ghz), 2.4 is good but speed is for me. Great all around from ASUS and very happy with my purchase, now time for some Merlin firmware!

Excellent router. Very easy to set up and easy to use. I was able to get it up and running in less than 5 minutes. Great speeds too!

Have been using Netgear routers for the past 6 years. My last one started dropping 5G signal left and right and wouldn't broadcast the SSID for very long before doing the same thing again and again. I purchased the Netgear back in December and added the protection plan. Took it back and they didn't have that model any longer. Easy process. Found this ASUS RT-AX82U for $229 and thought I'd give it a go. Actually ended up with store credit $ after all was said and done. SO GLAD THAT I WENT WITH THIS ROUTER! First off, thing thing looks awesome! Set up was pretty straight forward as laid out on the quick start: 1- power up modem, 2- connect ethernet/modem to router and power up the router, 3- open a browser on a connected computer and walk through some easy steps! DONE! The Wi-Fi speeds are consistently blowing past what I was getting with the Netgear (both of them are Wi-Fi 6). The admin interface takes just a little bit of getting used to if you're coming from another router, but is very easy and provides me with loads more functionality than the Netgear admin settings had. Finally, I went ahead and grabbed the Android App. MIND BLOWN! So much faster than the Netgear Nighthawk app and has a ton of easy to find/use great features. Absolutely recommend this router to anyone looking in the market or needing to make a change! I'll update down the road as far as longevity, but I am literally blown away by this router! Love it!

Switched to ASUS from netgear nighthawk (total garbage)! Super happy. It is easy to setup Nice looking wi-fi Works perfect! Super fast!

I honestly thought it would be faster. I probably need to add another router to the basement but for the price, I thought this would have taken care of the lag.

Easy to setup. The colors are pretty wild. Overall a nice router. It didn't take up as much space as I thought, but lately everything has to have multiple antennas. The software is nicely laid out (my previous router was a compact ASUS, but this is a nice upgrade. No hiccups with all the wireless devices. My previous router was taxed with the smart TV, the 2 iPads, 3 cell phones, an Apple TV, company laptop, printer, and when the xBox couldn't log in wired. This worked seamless.

So far so good. I haven’t had it long but it’s performing well. We have multiple streaming tv’s, devices, and gaming. We also have an ASUS mesh system that I bought separately as we are in a 3 level home and have a tv in the garage. I had the mesh system before upgrading to this router. So I don’t know that it’s necessary but kept it since it all works well together for us.

Lightning fast. Easy set up. Great value. We needed an upgrade and this fit the bill.

This router was recommended by a BBY associate. It worked great for about a month and then it reset itself to factory settings… not ideal.

Easy to setup and runs very fast. It just works without any attention. Which is what one would expect from a router.

Holy moly this things fast. Upgraded from a Nighthawk C7000 AC1900 to this on a 1.2Gbps connection. Wasn't prepared for it being a router only (my fault for not reading) but luckily my Nighthawk can act as just a modem. Connecting wirelessly to my PC which has an ASUS PCE-AC88 wireless card and I'm getting 700Mbps wirelessly. That's because of the limiting Nighthawk modem which is temporary. This thing delivers and the control suite is fantastic. I couldn't be more impressed.

I didn't even end up needing it for the purpose for which I originally bought it, and ended up keeping it anyway because I liked it so much.
