Customers are saying
Customers consistently note the strong performance and spacious SSD as major positives, frequently praising the large screen size and capable graphics card for gaming. However, some users point to issues with fan noise and the touchpad's responsiveness. The lack of a CD drive and the 60Hz refresh rate were also cited as drawbacks by a few customers.

good computer for basic work needs
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is good for basic work needs. The hard drive and ram is good for the price. The battery does last a lot longer then I thought it would. I do wish I had went with a laptop with a CD drive and a sd reader.

Good for price, small annoyances
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: price lower, processing fast, start-up easy, looks sharp. Cons: No disc drive, keyboard's red key-lights don't work, some ongoing distracting processor noise "chirps".

Meh
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got it for gaming, but it barely runs Mount and Blade on lowest graphic settings. Often lags. Would have been better buying or building my own. Expensive as well.

Good Laptop but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall the laptop is good for gaming, but the battery life is really really bad. You will have to be plugged to a wall if you're thinking of using it for school

Bummer Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just went "pop" the other day and wont turn on. Motherboard must have fried. It was WAY to loud for a unit to be sitting in front of. Disappointment. Bought April 2019

DIED ALMOST EXACTLY A YEAR AFTER
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The computer was pretty great until a week after its anniversary it decided to die. The screen would be completely black even though the keyboard lit up and fans turned on. Took it to Best Buy thinking it was an easy fix and they informed me the motherboard was unfixable and that it would be an $800 fix. The computer was never damaged, never dropped, never abused and yet it just died for no reason. That is unacceptable for a 1k piece of equipment. Trust me and save your money, go with something more reputable.

Broken device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop came to.me broken. Keys were defective immediately after unboxing. Keys were not producing characters they were supposed to or producing extra characters. For example, the backspace key generated a 4 and the delete key generated an =. There were others defective as well. May not be anyone's fault but bad first impression and now I have to wait another week to get my laptop. Very disappointed.

Tuf? More like Ruf!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cheap materials. Laggy and sporatic mouse movement. THEY PUT DIFFERENT SIZE SCREWS IN EACH OF THE SCEW HOLES ON THE BOTTOM SO IF YOU PLAN ON UPGRADING HDD OR RAM PAY ATTENTION TO WHERE EACH SCREW CAME FROM OR RISK DRILLING THROUGH THE SHELL! I DEFINITELY DIDN'T DO THAT THOUGH....

Poor communication!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Brought this back in for a cracked screen to Geek. They sent to Asus. I was charged $300 by Geek. Then found out Asus has it's own warranty, no one bothered to let me know about this so I'm still out $300!

Not a reliable laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Less than 6 months after purchase the ethernet port would only work half the time. Now that it's a year old and out of warranty, the ethernet port has stopped working all together. Asus support is horrible!

14 Months Old and DEAD!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You'd think a computer this expensive would last for more than 15 months! The motherboard is dead!! Warranthy is only good for a year. I wish I'd known these were "disposable".

First day impressions
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just received via Best Buy 1-day shipping, and it arrived on time in perfect condition. Before I turned on the computer I easily opened up the computer and put in a 1TB SSD and an additional memory stick. The computers 16GB is on ONE SODIMM. I had an extra 8GB module at the same speed, and it worked flawlessly. The only thing I did have to do was go into bios and change boot order to ensure it was booting from the 512 PCIe disk. The computer itself is plastic, but textured and looks great. The backlighting is red only, but it looks good. The keyboard feels good to me and seems like most any other keyboard I've ever used. The touchpad works well and has good clickiness for the buttons. The screen is big and bright and looks great to me. During gaming the CPU does reach high temps, but it seems the i7-8750h can handle these high temperatures by design. The GPU, however seems to hold a good decent temp. Overall this is finally the computer I have been waiting for. It's only $999 now and includes all the features I had been looking for, and doesn't include anything I don't need.
