Customers are saying
Customers consistently note the strong performance and spacious SSD as major positives, frequently praising the large screen size and capable graphics card for gaming. However, some users point to issues with fan noise and the touchpad's responsiveness. The lack of a CD drive and the 60Hz refresh rate were also cited as drawbacks by a few customers.

NOT FOR ME, BUT IT'S FAST
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this one because my main laptop had to have the monitor and case replaced. I didn't know if it would work properly. I have it back now, so I don't need this one.

At $999 Best value for your money.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are a number of great deals this black Friday. I was torn between this laptop at $999... MSI G63 at $1300... Gigabyte Aero at $1749... Ultimately decided on this because of the value just too good to pass. And believe me when I tell you I have done a tons of research of deals on all sites. Before I go over the goods and the cons. Let's go over a basic hardware calculation so everyone understand what an amazing deal this is... GPU 1060 3GB: $200 + CPU i7-8750: $300 + PCI SSD 500GB: $120 + A Cheap 24inch IPS 1080 Monitor $140. + Windows 10 $100. + 16GB DDR4 Ram $120. The total come out to be $980... This does not include the keyboard, AC Router, Webcam, the case, oh yeah and putting the laptop together. Which only a very, very, very few of us have the ability to do... On a value perspective, this is an amazing deal. Now onto the review... This is perfectly for me as I will mainly use this laptop for the following: Excel work, web browsing, video watching, and a portable VR device. And the 5~6 hours of battery life is sufficient for my need. If performance is extremely important to you, and portability is not than MSI G63 might be a better option at $1300 If portability and battery life is extremely important to you than you might want to bite the bullet and check out the Aero 15x v8 at $1749. Monitor: Good: 17.3inch, thin bezel, IPS display. This is more than sufficient for Netflix, and excel work & creative work. (The 17.3 inch monitor is really helpful when it comes to duo tasking vs 15.4 inch, this laptop is one of the only one that is portable, good battery, sufficiently powerful, yet has a 17.3inch monitor!!!) Con: 60hz only. If you want to become the next best Fortnite player you'd want to get a monitor that is 120hz or more. At the very top level even a bit of advantage will make the difference. CPU: Good: i7-8750H this is by far one of the best CPU currently out there for laptops. Unless you want to shell out $2,000 plus for a desktop replacement. GPU: GTX 1060 3GB Good: Perform much better than a 1050ti, roughly 30% bench mark, and only a bit slower than a GTX 1060 6GB, roughly 5% benchmark. I tried running Arizona Sunshine, which is a pretty demanding VR Game, and the auto setting for it was on high, and the game play was smooth as butter. Weight: Good: For a 17.3inch laptop this beast is only at 5.73lbs and 1.1inch thin. Battery Life: Good: 5~6 hours on light work. This is on part or much better than most of the 17.3inch laptop out there. Ports: Bad: No SD card reader! Only USB 3.0 Gen 1, no Gen 2 ports, or Thunderbolt. Build: Neither: Rigged Plastic instead of Alumni. You are not going to find Alumni build at this price point with hardware this good. I do not see this as a Con as the laptop feels solid. Keyboard: Pro: Keyboard feels solid, if you push on it very hard it will bend, but even with really hard typing it did not bend at all. Touchpad: Con: By far the worst touchpad I ever used. but I plan to bring a mouse with me so this does not bother me much. Webcam: Pro: Regular webcam placed top side of monitor instead of under the monitor which is what you want unless you just want other people looking up your nose. LOL. I am an entrepreneur, and I find this is the perfect laptop to me. Not having the 120hz+ display makes me not want to play games on it. Yet the screen is good enough for everything else. The battery life is decent enough where I can spend a few hours at the coffee shop for a change of environment without having to haul the charger with me. It is also powerful enough for me to bring it to my girlfriend's to show her all the latest VR title. But everyone is a bit different be sure to choose the laptop that matches your needs and not just mine. Good luck out there, and may the force be with you this Holiday season to score everything you need :).

It was really good but..
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Watching Netflix, wifi suddenly stop working, asus customer service is real y good, they ask me to do several attempts to restar it, nothing work, but, when packaging to take it to service.... it reboot again and wifi start working..... PC looks really good, I bought it to try some CNNetworks programming, had many things and it is upgradable, which its really good this days. Manufacture defects are not common in reviews, so Just Hope does not happen again.
