Not bad at all! Although, it's not perfect.

However, it does have its fair share of problems, but I'd like to start this off with many of the positives this laptop has. With that being said, let's begin. For starters, this laptop has a pretty good keyboard. Not only is it full-sized, but it also features a number pad. It has good key travel, and it also has Aura-RGB lighting. By opening up the Armoury Crate app on Windows or pressing the function key together with the arrow keys, you can have it light up to your brightness preference along with different cycles. It was really nice to look at and it was a nice addition! Though, I think the arrow keys are a little too narrow and small since I end up either pressing the right CTRL key or the 0 key in the number pad by accident. But besides that, I do like typing on this thing. Performance-wise, this is a good option for anyone looking to get into PC gaming or just starting out. As a processor, it uses a Tiger Lake Intel Core i5-11260H meant for gaming laptops and mobile workstations. On top of that, it also has an RTX 3050Ti as its graphics card. Unfortunately, it only has 4GB of VRAM. Still, it doesn't actually stop it from actually performing well. I played a handful of games from my library and many of the games I've played were between medium to the highest settings. Valorant performed at the highest settings between 80-90 FPS with V-Sync on, GTA V performed between 40-55 FPS at Very High settings, and Phasmophobia performed at the highest settings with a few dips on the Asylum map. The laptop has 8 GB of DDR4 RAM, which is acceptable, but also very limited. Adding on to this, it also features a 512 GB PCI-e SSD for data. Booting up the laptop to Windows along with opening up programs was very quick and to the point. I managed to turn on the laptop on my way to the startup screen in 9.6 seconds, which is extremely quick. On the other hand, only 456 GB in the SSD drive and 7.78 GB of the RAM were usable. Still, you are able to upgrade both of these once you disassemble the laptop. In fact, there's room for another drive along with it being upgradeable to 32GB of RAM. I haven't had myself doing those yet for myself, but I'll definitely do it in the near future. The trackpad is pretty average. There's nothing really special about it since it's a plastic surface. The two buttons below it are just what I expected as well. It's usable, but sometimes the tracking would go in the opposite direction than I'd like, so I end up changing the speed and sensitivity to have it to my preference. I use a PS4 controller or a wireless mouse more, so this barely matters to me. As for the speakers, this is probably the worst part of this laptop. Not only are they faced in the bottom next to the I/O ports on each side, but they also sound pretty weak. Not a lot of bass and it was pretty muffled. Now, gaming laptops typically have this trait almost all the time. But I'd much rather use the headphone jack for my headset or just use my Bluetooth Beats. This is a factor that bothered me as soon as I unboxed and set up the laptop for the first time. The screen is fine since it has an IPS display and good viewing angles without it being reflective. Using the 144Hz option with Adaptive Sync was also a neat feature in this laptop. Seeing Windows 10 and 11 move and look a lot faster genuinely feels satisfying. However, there are two major issues that I'd like to address. First of all, the colors aren't as intensive or accurate as I'd hoped for. If you're a content creator, this isn't necessarily a bad option at all, but there are better alternatives. Another issue that I've experienced with the screen was ghosting. I only have one site where I saw this, and that was YouTube. Sometimes when watching videos, the playback would glitch out. What would happen is that it would move to the right side with black bars. It had some smearing when it was moving, which was a little trippy. Also, when I refresh the page when this happens, a visual glitch that kind of looks like 3D glasses will affect the lettering and the video itself. It lasts for about a minute, but it was really bothering my eyes. I'm hoping that Asus themselves can provide a patch to this in the future. The build quality is solid on this thing, definitely one of the better ones at this price point. It does have some screen and keyboard flex, but both of those didn't really affect me when using this laptop. It has some plastic, but it doesn't feel borderline cheap or unusable. I really like the metal top back cover and honeycomb pattern in the bottom of the chassis. Both of them feel very good to the touch and look visually interesting. In terms of the cooling and fan design, they're both pretty decent, as it features dual-blade fans. The sides and honeycomb chassis felt a little hot, but not to the point where it's burning me or thermal throttling. When a game is running, the fans can be heard, but nothing concerning at all with any rattling or buzzing noises. It is a little loud when you're playing intensive games, but I understand it's to help the laptop handle that type of software smoothly. What I'm not a big fan of is undoubtedly the battery life. Not only did it not last very long at 2.5 hours, but the size of it is also very small, coming in at 48Wh. Thankfully, the AC adapter comes in at 240V, which allows the laptop to do fast charging. Still, it sucks that I have to check its percentage when I'm in and out of the house. Bottom line, I think this is a good budget gaming laptop, with some hiccups here and there. It does have some fluctuations in terms of pricing, so I recommend that you watch out for price drops whenever it happens. I should also note that it features a free trial of Xbox Game Pass for a month, which is a really nice bonus when purchasing this laptop with tax. Thank you for reading!

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decent battery. 5 hours active, 3 inactive. Decent storage. I dont know what graphics and pixels and stuff look like. I like to run a lot of crap, and it has only overheated once, and that was when i accidentally had the screen at max brightness. I am a clumsy doofus who is not good with electronics and i have had the computer for about a month, so very durable.

Great value!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great deal for the price!!! The screen is in fact 144 hz (some of the comments mentioned that they received units that were only 60hz). Only critiques are the relatively low RAM (8gb), but you can very easily purchase and install additional ram (2 slots of DDR4 3,200 MHZ), and the integrated sound card lacks bass which is easily rectified with a headset.

Excellent laptop for gaming.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I won't be as technical as some reviews can be I will say this, this ASUS laptop does not disappoint. It's fast, has great graphics capabilities and fairly ergonomic for a larger laptop. My last laptop was an ASUS ROG 17.3" screen laptop and it is over 10 years old but still going strong. I've found ASUS to be a solid company for gaming laptops.

Thoroughly enjoyed this gaming laptop!

After cutting the security tape, I open the lid to see the computer. Inside is the unit, power brick, 110v cord, and a couple of brochures. Oh, and a nice page of stickers attached to the inside lid. So, I fire up the laptop, go through the Windows first-time set up and get the unit online. I know there are going to be updates, but first I want to get antivirus software installed. Luckily, I use a couple of different ones and I had room for two more devices on my Bullguard suite. I send myself a link and install the software. After updating that, I go to Windows settings and click Windows Update. There are going to be a few rounds. During or after that, I see that Asus wants to update the firmware. Oh, how I’m glad firmware works through the OS nowadays. I just click my way through, and the firmware is updated. After a restart, I’m good to go. So, this is a gaming rig and the game I choose to try first is GTA V via the Epic Games app. As soon as it starts, I have to install all the Rockstar stuff. Forgot about that. Once that’s done and I’m ready to play, I click the game and it starts loading. I immediately hear the fans turn on. They’re not very loud and that’s great, but they sound like they are working. I play through the scene where he’s following his buddy through town and then I quit the game. It plays extremely well and has no lag or hesitation. I couldn’t get my controller to work, but a quick Google search shows a lot of people have issues with controllers and Epic. I decide the next game is Dirt 4 through Steam. I change controllers to a wired X Box controller and Steam has no problem using it. I play an entire race and it doesn’t even turn on the fan. In fact, when I quit playing GTA V, the fans stopped pretty much immediately. I’m used to my Ryzen 7 desktop that seems to run the fans for several minutes after shutting down a game. So, I was pretty stoked about the performance of the Asus laptop. As for the unit itself. It works great. It has a Thunderbolt 4 port and my Thunderbolt 3 Belkin hub worked just great through it. The left side has that USBc Thunderbolt 4 port, 2 USB 3.2 ports, a regular HDMI port, a headphone jack, and a LAN port. The right side has an additional USB 3.2 port. According to the box, it has 4GB of VRAM, Intel I5 - 11260H/BGA CPU, 512GN PCIE G3 SSD, and 8G RAM. Inside is a second SSD slot and if what I’ve search is true, room for a 2.5 drive. The military-grade seems rugged and able to take a beating, no I’m not testing that. The top does however look great with the TUF logo outlined on the right edge. What else. The screen looks great and with all that real estate, gaming, and using Office suite apps are wonderful to use. I really don’t have any negatives about the unit. It doesn’t come with a ton of bloatware, it looks and performs great, the backlit keyboard is great to look at without any adjustments. If there was any downside, it was updating all the programs to get going, but that’s the same with any machine. Asus includes their own software, Armoury Crate. It too needed an update. Just saying it takes a bit to get the laptop ready to run without constant pop-ups or notifications. That said, it’s just a great laptop, it has room to grow with an empty memory slot, 2nd SSD slot, maybe a 2.5 disk slot, and an easy to access mobo. I’d gladly recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a sturdy and well-running gaming rig. If they wanted, they could certainly pay more for a faster CPU, but I enjoyed playing on this I5 with no issues.
