Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the TUF Gaming A16 laptop's strong performance, solid build quality, and satisfactory battery life. Many also appreciate its reasonable price, exceptional speed, sufficient RAM, and great graphics. However, some customers have noted that the laptop can get hot during demanding games and that the fan noise can be loud. Additionally, a few users feel that the storage could be larger, the laptop is a bit heavy, and the screen brightness could be improved.

Wonderful Laptop. Runs any game at over 120Fps without an issue. Also great for everyday use as its light and portable. The only drawback is the the battery life, so while i game i keep it on the charger.

Good gaming computer for just about entry level gamers. Spec'd well enough to run most games and quality seems great thus far. It does seem to run hot, so probably want this more on a table/desk than on the lap.

Asus TUF A16 Advantage Edition (2023)

As advertized. With a little tweaking on battery settings the Asus A16 TUF Adavantage Edition ran video playback with sound at 50% and screen brightness 30% for about 7.5 hours. The laptop is easy to transport at just over 4 pounds and I like the tactile feel of the metal lid and trackpad. The side bevels look and feel sleek. The screen hinge tension is secure, easily opening with the front protrusion, and the screen frame itself is set vaulted away from the keyboard which I believe helps with viewing angle and cooling. (And looks cool) Vents on the bottom (2 fans) and sides allow for max cooling during gaming, but you'll want to find an outlet for gaming sessions over an hour as the dedicated gpu recommended for AAA gaming will use more power. Overall very happy, and the upgrade space for RAM and storage will make this a very capable little machine. 4 stars: I wish the speakers were a little louder. Also keyboard backlight is not programable, just 3 settings of all very bright white.

This is a great laptop if you can get it on sale and now how to work the settings of the pc and how to utilize asus armory. Poor thermals. Out of the box this thing will max 95c EASY. It is a laptop but thats pretty bad, however there are some things you can do to easily keep the temps manageable when your gaming or other intense tasks. Just look up stuff on the internet about the tuf a16 and you'll find some ideas to try out. I got this laptop on sale and for an 8 core cpu and an 8 gig gpu it was a heck of a deal! Haven't played to many games yet but with the tweaks to manage temp I was running Space Marines 2 on high settings while maintaining 70c range. This goes for 1100 here on bestbuy, if you can get it for under 800 like I did id for sure consider it! to be completely honest I feel like you can get something better for 1100.

Great display and really fast. Been great for gaming and just general use. Definitely need to be plugged into charger while gaming cause it drains the battery. it also gets really hot while gaming.

Works pretty great, no major complaints. I will say that some more demanding games will have the fans running super loud so just be aware of that.

Great AMD CPU/GPU. Great keyboard and 144hz panel. Build materials on the laptop could be better. Different size screws so be careful and layout the screws exactly how you placed to ensure it goes back in the right hole. Otherwise you can risk cosmetic damage with small bumps which is known to Asus laptops. Microsoft pushed out a nasty windows update that messed up the bootloader which thankfully the system restore was enabled by default from the factory as Asus does their custom image like other manufacturers with software such as Armoury crate. I didn't need it with the steam deck, gaming desktop and a simple laptop for school work but it's a great machine nonetheless when you catch it on sale.

Great price, easy to upgrade, and handles games well. Has an unfortunate battery, but the charger isn’t too bulky to where it’s annoying to carry around. I can’t recommend if you don’t want to keep the charger with you at all times.

Solid mid/low-tier gaming laptop. There is a CPU bottleneck for sure and I recommend upgrading to 32GB DDR5 RAM (not in this economy though). With upscaling tech, it can run most AAA games at 50-60 FPS and competitive games at >144 FPS. Battery life is very average (do not travel without your power brick).

This is my firs gaming laptop. All specs meet what is required for the games I play. it handles Helldivers 2 and EDF5 with ease. I highly recommend adding a second SSD to expand storage as the main will fill quickly if you have a lot of regularly played games. Be patient and take your time to learn the AMD Adrenaline system, this machine has great potential! The display barely has glare, is very responsive and is easy on the eyes at higher brightness.

Good, solid machine. I upgraded the RAM (which says 32 GB max, but I went with 64 GB with no issues), and added an SSD. The only thing to watch out for is to set it to hibernate vs Sleep. Sleep seems to wake on a bump or mouse touch. The 7700 handles cyberpunk nicely, can't go insane on the setting, but now I see reflections in the hood while I drive around the city.

I was looking for a great gaming laptop capable of running 2024's most demanding games, including a maxed-out Baldur's Gate 3, and the ASUS A16 delivered. Excellent and affordable gaming machine, at least with the sale running when I purchased it.

Sad purchase and the worst of my life

    Posted .

I bought this laptop in August, but have only used it a total of 5 times. The first time I didn't notice anything strange, the second and third time I noticed that it got too hot and the battery lasted only an hour, without even using games or heavy applications, only with google. Today I used it a couple of times and I could recognize worse problems. The screen flickers without apparent sense, parts of the screen appear in white and others in black, the whole screen turns black from one moment to another. I do not live in the United States and it was a friend of my mother's who was able to buy it and bring it to Peru. But it has been the worst money my father has ever had to spend in his life. It has been more than 60 days since the purchase and I just noticed the failures because I didn't want to use the laptop so much so that it wouldn't break and only for university work (making maps and using Zoom). Now I can't even use google and type because the color changes on the screen prevent me from doing so. I really don't know what to do or how it would be possible for BestBuy to accept the return. I am too sad because my father saved for a long time to be able to buy me this laptop. I hope someone can help me.

Great gaming laptop for under $1000. Solid CPU and GPU with 16 gigs of ram(minimum needed for gaming). Easily add a Second hard drive for more storage. One downside I found is the Screen could be brighter but as long as it's not in direct sunlight it's OK.

I bought this for my sister in law and she is so impressed with the price and performance. I even saved so much more by buying open boxes items. I was hesitant at first because I am thinking that the quality might be affected but it is not. I had a little bit of trouble because I was missing the power cord for the charger. But bestbuy fix it by giving me one when I informed them.
