As you can see from all the positive reviews, this laptop is very VERY good! But please understand that this is a great purchase ONLY IF you find it at a sale price! DO NOT consider buying this laptop under it's regular listed price. I'm not going to go too much in detail with the pros as a lot of other reviews mention those such as how fast the laptop is. Pros: - Silly FAST! - For the bargain price of roughly $700+Tax, this thing has enough oomph and then some! - Upgradable - This laptop's memory and storage is upgradable. Asus also provides the service manual for a full disassembly for when you need to clean, re-paste, repair! - comfortable keyboard - It is a weee bit mushy for my taste, but the key travel is decent so the key strike still gives you that positive "I clicked therefore I typed" tactile feedback - Lightweight - I saw a review from someone else mentioning this laptop is big, heavy and bulky! IT IS NOT! Anyone that delt with previous gens gaming laptops know what an 8 lb. laptop and 3 lb. power brick feels like in their backpack or carrying case. This thing is smaller and lighter than the 15.6" Dell gaming laptop it's replacing. - Great I/O selection - 2 USB C and 2 USB A ports along with ethernet, HDMI out and combo Audio jack. I wish it would have had an SD card reader as well, but it's good enough. Now for the cons section. Keep in mind that these cons should not, by any means, deter you from considering this machine when it's on sale. Just keep them in mind when purchasing. Cons: - WINDOWS 11 - Just... Wow... The biggest con this machine has is the OS. We all complained back in the day when Vista was bad, then came 8, and now we have this gigantic mess that I don't even know if M$ knows where they're going with it, but w/e... moving along... Yes, this OS does not help the 16GB of dual channel memory that come with the machine. First boot leaves you with only 5.4GB of usable RAM with Asus's Armory crate stuff installed along with the other Microsoft stuff (I'm looking at you OneDrive!). With Windows 11 in this machine I have experienced no sleep situations along with some older DX12 games that will not run and have to be forced to DX11 (confirmed working perfectly fine when installing Windows 10 on the laptop, so the problem is Windows 11 in some way). - Reliance on Armory Crate - You're stuck using Asus's Armory Crate software to be able to control the fan profiles along with GPU profile. YES there are alternatives to Armory Crate BUT! You have to remember that this is a full AMD laptop with a MUX switch, so most of those alternatives will only give you Hybrid graphics and not use the AMD SmartAccess Graphics or SAG. (in laymen's terms, you wont be using the MUX switch and all processed graphics will go through the iGPU instead) - 16GB of RAM - Yes it's dual channel memory but it is unfortunately not enough to deal with the behemoth that is Windows 11. I upgraded my system to 64GB of Kingston Fury Impact memory (kit: F548S38IBK2-64) as it has the best timings for 4800 MT/s speeds. DO NOT BOTHER buying anything higher than 4800 MT/s for this laptop, the EUFI/BIOS doesn't have memory control so it can only do the maximum JDEC speed that the CPU allows, which for the 7735HS CPU is 4800 MT/s. - 512GB NVME SSD - like others have stipulated, 512GB may not be enough. The included WD SN740 drive is good enough for me as an OS drive as it is GEN4 and it's fast so to keep the overall cost of the machine low I added a GEN3 2TB NVME SSD in the second slot. - It runs HOT - This laptop does run hot. I have had temperatures reach 94C on the CPU while gaming and the chassis overall gets quite toasty so be mindful of the environment that you're in when gaming. Might have to use Turbo mode in those situations as the fans get to ramp up sooner and go for higher RPM than in regular Performance mode in Armory Crate. Due to the chassis getting hot I have also noticed that the NVMEs get hot as well, so get a low profile heatsink for them! - Screen - The screen is Okay, not great, just Okay. It's not bright enough for my taste. - Realtek Wi-Fi card / BT - The Realtek 8852BE Wireless LAN WiFi 6 card that this laptop comes with has mediocre performance and, even though it allows for Wake On Wireless LAN magic packets, the driver doesn't seem to handle that very well. It also seems to be part of the problem (driver wise) for Windows 11 not going to sleep. I get an Event Viewer error with a mini dump file when trying to put the system to sleep. In terms of Bluetooth, I get some device disconnects every so often with my mouse and headset and then reconnect right after which is very annoying. It will be a good idea to budget in an Intel card upgrade. - Battery life - Battery life is Okay. It ultimately depends on what you're doing with the laptop and what setting you have the dGPU in. Based on that, this laptop is in the 3 to 6 hours of battery life. Overall, at the sale price of $700+Tax, the pro's outweigh the cons since a very large portion of them are software derived. Using good ol' Windows 10 (downgrade) or a Linux distro mitigate quite a few of the issues I've mentioned by making the machine usable with only 16GB of memory, being able to sleep, etc.

A couple weeks later - Great laptop, super powerful for heavy gaming although the fan runs a little loud (I can live with that) and great battery life for daily stuff. It is heavy though and isn't the most beautiful thing to look at, but again if the power under the hood matters more, like it did for me, buy this laptop! Super competitive price for a upper mid range dedicated graphics card too Cons: Heavy to lug around, Not beautiful to look at (these things did not matter to me) Pros: Great power and battery life, excellent hardware under the hood for the price, nice slightly larger than standard screen, sturdy, well built and feels solid, keyboard feels nice to type on.

Ill list the pros and cons first so you know please read the full. Cons: - start off storage is too low 512gb is not enough - entry level ram 16gb - battery life is atrocious 30-45 minutes at best off charge - laptop is very heavy -gets very hot Pros: - 16gb ram is dual channel and adequate enough for multitasking and gaming - ram is upgradeable - storage expandable up to 2x2Tb pcie nvme drive 4Tb total. - Ryzen 7 7000 series apu is great - RX 7700s dedicated graphics with 8gb vram is great with most any game especially for a laptop - rugged build for the laptop very sturdy design and screen is great Overall: This laptop is amazing. Its handled every game ive thrown at it with absolute grace. No problems with fps no stuttering no issues whatsoever. I will say the overall build is amazing the quality is great and its completely worthwhile. The price is a little higher than id like however this laptop appears to go on sale freqently and i was able to snag it for 742 after tax. Amazing bang for the buck. The laptop comes with 2 8gb 4800 mhz ram. Dual channel and 512gb ocie nvme drive. Its all expandable up to 32 gb ram at 4800 mhz and up to 4tb total for storage. 2Tb for each drive slot. The laptop does get very hot so i recommend a cooling pad to help keep performance high. Battery is atrocious if your gaming youll get about 30-45 min at best if your kucky. Youll wanna stay plugged in. That being said the laptop does come with a 280w power supply to keep the laptop plugged in and charged during any gaming session no problem. Watch a youtube video on how to upgrade the ram and ssd which is fairly simple and invest in a cooling laptop. Get one for 27 on amazon your good to go. I bought this plus another 220 for the upgraded storage capacity and ram plus cooling pad and this thing is an absolute beast. All you need is a mouse and your set. The 7700s also has smart switch so it changes from apu to gpu depending on the aplication your using to optimize performance for whatever the situation you have. Absolute must have and a great buy if you either dont have the money for nvidia or a team red fan.
