Unexpected stuttering?!

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This was a negative surprise - few years ago I had a G14 with all AMD and that one worked well, so when this TUF went on sale for just $599 open-box I though it is a great deal. However, it stutters in games where 4060 works just fine. It runs a bit hot, but no more than other gaming laptops. It struggles even at 1080p using the laptop screen, and is more evident at 1440p external monitor both HDMI and usb-c to display port. After the 45 min gaming session with F1 2024 it crashed with a message from AMD Radeon software that driver is disconnected from the hardware?! Disappointed. In local LLM tasks works well Meta Llama 3.1 8b parameters and a famous "write me a thousand word story" ends with respectable 42 tokens/s using the rx7700s (vs. cpu only 5.6 t/s, apple M4 does 18.6 t/s) Did not try longer LLM / RAG workloads.

To resolve the problem, please check if the laptop is running with the most current AMD chipset and audio driver, and BIOS. Keeping the laptop updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance. Additionally, while accessing cloud games, please ensure the unit has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since poor and unstable internet connection will definitely affect system speed and performance, and may cause stuttering while gaming. If these steps were performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. It has lots of ports (HDMI, Ethernet, USB-A & USB-C), 16 inch screen and number page. The internals (SSDs, wifi card) are upgradable. Nice lappy.

I have an older laptop, one with i7 12700h and an RTX 3060. The jump from that laptop to this AMD generation is awesome. It's so smooth and blazing fast!
