Gets extremely hot, and speed slows to a crawl.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed and tested with a gain of about 80-90 mbs over my onboard wireless nic. I was honestly a bit underwhelmed by this, considering it was $50. Within minutes, it began loading info very slowly. It tested again, and it was about a quarter of the previous speed. I pulled it out the usb slot, and it was extremely hot to the touch, almost enough to burn you. I've heard these can run hot, but im not keeping this inserted for fear of doing damage to any of my ports. This is going back to the store tmrw for a refund. Very disapointed in this.

We do understand your concern regarding the speed of the network adapter. To resolve the issue, please verify if the PC fully-support the adapter and if it does, check if the computer's latest chipset driver was installed. Also, check if the USB port is working properly. Check if the PC is within range to an established wireless router or access point and internet service is working properly since poor and unstable internet connection will affect the speed or bandwidth.

To my dismay, the adapter had speeds slower than the built-in Wifi 5, especially the upload. My Wifi 5 upload speed was 200 Mbps, whereas my Wifi 6 upload with the adapter was only 35 Mbps! I contacted Asus technical support to figure out how to correct the speed issue. I tried the adapter on 2 different Windows 11 and 10 laptops. After working with 4 different technicians, they gave up. So I gave up and returned the adapter. Really disappointed with Asus on this one.
