I had persistent audio dropouts and stuttering with my Bluetooth speaker and initially thought Windows was the problem. After some digging, I discovered the real issue was the ASUS USB‑BT500 dongle storing old pairing data internally. Even after removing devices in Windows, “ghost” devices kept coming back and interfering with audio. To fix it, I verified Windows wasn’t the source (empty Bluetooth cache, clean registry), then uninstalled the dongle in Device Manager and physically unplugged it to force a full hardware reset. After plugging it back in, Windows reinstalled it cleanly, all ghost devices disappeared, and audio performance immediately stabilized. The problem wasn’t Windows — it was the dongle re‑injecting old pairing data. A full reset completely solved it.

I was looking for a way to use my Bluetooth headphones on my desktop because it did not have Bluetooth built into the motherboard, for 20 dollars this little device delivered exactly what I needed and It was very much a plug and play device.

I needed one for my computer since it did not have Bluetooth built in, i was able to pair my xbox controller and head phones with no problem! Great product!

Purchased this adapter for an older laptop without bluetooth capability. Worked well as a plug and play device. Purchased as a replacement for another brand which Windows 10 was unable to recognize for some reason but this one continues to work great for me. I definitely would recommend it.

I've actually purchased 2 of these now, one for work and the other for my laptop, and they work great! In both instances they were just plug-and-go. My laptop has 4 Bluetooth devices attached to it and I have never once had any kind of a disconnect (I use Zwift w/ a BT trainer, heart rate monitor, cadence sensor, and a shifter for the hub). This is the absolute thing to get if you need to add Bluetooth to your computer!

I bought this bluetooth smart ready USB adapter a month ago for my laptop. It's very easy to set up and use, handles multiple devices very well: I connect my wireless earbuds and bluetooth mouse without issues. Definitely recommend.

I use this to connect my Sony and Jabra wireless headphones to my Dell inspiron laptop. The increase in bluetooth range is fantastic, and I can walk around my townhouse with my headphones and not lose connection.

Worked perfectly for my application which is using my Dualshock and Dualsense controllers with my PC using Ds4windows. I already had a USB Bluetooth adapter, but my wife's computer has the same exact adapter and for some reason they were fighting for communication with my controllers. Even though the controllers were paired to my PC, they would auto connect to hers and her PC would get a prompt to pair. I decided to get a different USB adapter with proprietary drivers and the ASUS adapter worked perfectly. I no longer have any handshake issues. The range seems pretty good. My couch is about four feet from my PC and I get a solid connection with no dropouts when playing games on my TV. My PC is a windows 10 PC and I was able to install the drivers easily from the asus website.

Got this yesterday. Bought a $3500 computer from MainGear and mb doesn’t have bt onboard. This device allows me to have bluetooth. Works perfect with my Xbox series 2 controller, no noticeable lag.

I have an older (though still very powerful) workstation that didn't have integrated Bluetooth. During the pandemic, I shuffled things around to make room for my kids to have a place to sit and use their laptops for school - I didn't have a long enough cord for my headphones, so I ended up buying one of these to use with my Bose 700 series headphones and it works great! I should have done it sooner - I generally have music playing out loud, but this makes it so everyone can focus and work while they need to with no distractions.
