It's relatively fast and will handle all basic tasks with ease. The problem is the screen is horrible. The viewing angles are terrible. You have to view it from the perfect angle otherwise the colors and saturation are way off. I've connected it to a monitor so I now never have to see the screen. If you're planning to use the screen then consider other options.

About a month after purchase, one of them started having issues with the touchpad. I took it in for service twice for the same problem. After they replaced the touchpad, the screen began shutting down unexpectedly. Fortunately, the store acknowledged that it was still new and refunded my money. Now my daughter's laptop is experiencing the same touchpad issue. Instead of sending it in for service and risking additional problems, I decided to buy her a mouse instead. It seems like this may be a common issue with this model.

Its nice, lightweight, and works well with everything he needs to do. The only downside is the mousepad area. Having thr numeric keypad there is quite annoying and was a challenge. So , I had to make an additional investment for a protable mouse.

I got this laptop to get reacquainted with the Windows OS, as well as work on coding practice. It's been a good system so far. Supports virtual machines and coding languages. It seems to work very well as a beginner friendly device.
