I bought the ASUS Vivobook 14 for $299 + tax during a Best Buy offer, and honestly, it’s one of the best deals I’ve ever found. The screen looks great, the audio quality is surprisingly good, and the 12GB RAM handles everyday tasks effortlessly. The i5 processor is more than capable for daily use, and the laptop itself is lightweight and compact—perfect for carrying around.

This lightweight Asus is more than meets the eye. The sound quality is amazing and feels theater-like. The speakers are on the bottom and so when you have it in your lap while watching a music video/movie you experience a theater like sound. Very impressive. Online gaming was solid and response time, screen view of fast moving character/objects was great. The picture quality is very good. The colors vibrant. The laptop screen open all the way flat to a 180 degree angle. There’s a switch to cover the camera so you may have privacy you seek when camera not in use. The mousepad has a built in calculator which allows for turning it on/off from just a touch on the top right corner of the mousepad. You can turn it on upon opening your laptop and the laptop turning on and then use the calculator pad to enter your numeric password pin to get into your laptop. Calculating is easy with this feature. This is NOT a touch screen laptop. The light weight of the laptop makes moving it around, having it on your lap or passing it to someone as easy as passing a large tablet, yet it still feels solid and well built. The number keys have larger to read numbers and the other options on those keys are smaller. The button to turn on the laptop is located on a key on the actual keyboard located on the top right corner area. The enter key has a marking to allow you to find it quicker. The Asus laptop comes with lots of safety features that allow you to toggle on or off and includes a 3 month online gaming trial. The charger is squarish with a long wire. Recording was great as it has noise canceling features and allowed for me to record myself singing while canceling out other annoying noises in my background environment. The set up was easy and connected immediately to my home wifi system. A little too easy, like lightening. Many ports for those who need to plug in lots of various connections. See pics attached. Overall a great laptop that I would highly recommend.

This ASUS Vivobook 14 14” FHD Laptop with Intel Core i5 processor, 12GB Memory, and a 256GB SSD in Quiet Blue is a good choice for home or college use. It has a lot of customizable features via the ASUS software.
Setup time was only time consuming due to all of the updates. Once they were installed, it went smooth and fast.
Best uses for this laptop:
The best uses for this laptop are what many do most with a laptop. Browse the Internet, watch movies and videos, listen to music, productivity apps like word processing, spreadsheets, simple presentations, email, calendar and scheduling apps, journaling apps, and editing photographs.
The amount of space on the SSD is 256GB, so you have some space to store documents and photos, but not a massive amount.
Performance:
The laptop performed well using installed productivity software and web based applications.
I had no issues watching movies and videos. There was no lag or delays at all.
Web browsing went smoothly and there were no hiccups. I opened multiple tabs to see if there would be issues, and there wasn’t. I was able to navigate through pages and pages of content seamlessly.
Battery life:
Battery life all depends on what you are doing. A fully charged battery lasted me almost 7.5 hours while watching movies, videos and browsing the internet. That’s pretty good. It also charges pretty fast too in less than and hour and a half.
Screen resolution:
The 14” screen is FHD, and is bright and colorful. It can be adjusted in settings.
Speakers/Sound:
The speakers sound pretty good for a small laptop. I could clearly hear the movie, videos and music.
The touchpad/numberpad:
This is different for me, and at first I liked it, but then I didn’t. It’s kind of awkward having the numberpad on the touchpad. I couldn’t get used to it. This is a personal preference, but it’s just out of place for me.
To sum it all up, this is a good laptop for someone at home or school that does everyday tasks on the computer. It can handle light gaming, but not heavy gaming. It can handle multitasking and your productivity apps. It’s a good little laptop.

Slow, but functional

This laptop is small, fairly light and functional. You can get the majority of basic tasks done with it. It runs Windows 11, so you have all the familiarity of other computers you may have been used to. With a click of the corner of the mousepad, you have a number pad available, although it is a little odd to get used to. Other than having something light you can check the internet with or do some basic productivity type it doesn’t have much more going for it.
With that said, this has been one of the slowest laptops I have used in a good while. First off, it asks to connect to WiFi before you even get into Windows and you can only connect to 2.4Ghz. Then it took forever to run some updates, which essentially felt like it was trying to download the entire operating system. Then, once you finally get to the Windows details, you have to go through getting all of the updates for that as well. So, expect to spend the first couple hours of getting this laptop just to get it updated, despite having faster WiFi and internet available, the system just runs slow.
I know this is a budget laptop, but it feels like there could be a few things that would really help, like having a backlit keyboard. They show the feature of a “lay flat” display, but the screen is not a touch screen, so it doesn't even feel like it should go that far. The power adapter is an old style tip and I have no idea why it’s not a USB PD connection at this point in time. Again, I know I don’t expect much but the screen on this has a very small sweet spot. Anything off center the slightest and it is either too dark or too bright to read anything.
Overall, if you just need the barebones small, light laptop, this isn’t all that bad. However, I feel like there are better options out there. This one feels like it is lacking some common featured and too slow.

This suits my needs well. It runs pretty fast (especially compared to my old one). I like that it has 3 usb ports. The big number pad on the touch pad is a nice feature, but actually disable the touch pad and use an actual mouse. The only thing that concerns me is that it is extremely hot. Even if it's closed and just charging, it's hot on the bottom. And there's a spot on the screen that is kind of blurry and I can't seem to get it clear. But other than that, this is great.

So far so good. Nice little laptop that does everything I need it to do. Pretty light, folds down very flat, has USB inputs, good battery life so far and easy to get started and operate.
For the money, a good choice to get basic tasks done. I wish I went with a slightly bigger screen but this is easier to transport.

Bit of a learning curve

The model I am reviewing has a touch pad that can also be a numerical pad. I am not quite sure of the purpose- there are numbers across the top like most keyboards. The numerical pad does not work like a calculator. I suppose it is to mimic the larger laptops that have the numbers to the right side.
I have accidentally switched from touchpad to numbers (there is a spot in the top right corner of the touch pad that toggles between the two settings). I must have dragged my finger across it while typing and then gone to use the touchpad and a number pops up!
When in the numeric setting, I do find it a little finicky. I push a number and it pops up twice (or more). It is very sensitive. I have also brought up a calculator on the screen accidentally when toggling between the touchpad and numeric pad.
As a computer, this is a solid little machine. It seems quick and responsive. The keyboard is nice.
I am used to a touch screen and find myself touching the screen to move the cursor but that is my issue, not the computer's!
While typing this review, I have accidentally turned on the numeric pad while moving my fingers on the touch pad. Perhaps it was not the best idea.
Lastly, the color is called "Quiet Blue" and it is very "quiet"- It looks black to me.

Overall good system. doesn't feel really robust but it is very slim and light. take it anywhere. enough memory and storage to do most work and business tasks. fine for watching videos and playing music as well. Win 11 home works well and snappy. there are times i accidentally turn on the numeric pad on the mouse pad and that interferes. only happens when I'm playing a game and it could be disabled. overall a good deal for the price - 319. probably wouldn't have paid more. excellent battery. sitting here with over 7 hours left.

The build quality of this all-plastic device is solid; it doesn’t look or feel cheap, although it does attract fingerprints. The blue finish is stunning.
The keyboard has minimal travel and lacks backlighting, but it performs well and features handy shortcuts.
The i5-1235U processor offers surprising speed for the price, making it great for basic tasks and light gaming.
The webcam is average—its overall performance isn’t terrible, but it’s not exceptional either.

The ASUS-Vivobook 14 FHD Labtop Intel Core i5-12 GB Memory is light weight and pretty compact. I'm able to carry with me in a purse, backpack, and or labtop case. What I like about the labtop is that the touch mouse pad, also has a numerical pad, with the ability to turn the calculator on or off. I have never seen this before, so a cool feature. In addition the speed of the Vivobook. I enjoy watching videos and the volume of the labtop is good for me. There are ports to where you can plug in speakers, mouse, HDMI cord, etc. The keyboard size is good. Like the large keys, make it easy to type with. There are keyboard shortcuts that your able to use. The display of the screen is pretty clear, the speed of the labtop is good. Opening up browsers quickly and apps was done easily and quickly. The download speeds were fast. Overall pleased with the product.
Pros:
Quick Setup
Large Key Size
Great Speaker Built In
Portable
Light Weight
Great For General Use
Great For School Use
Cons:
None at this Time.
Thank you for allowing me to test this product.

I’ve been using this laptop for a few weeks now, and I’m honestly impressed with how well it balances performance and build quality. The design feels premium without being flashy—light enough to carry around all day but still sturdy. The keyboard has a satisfying feel (not too mushy, not too clicky), and the trackpad is smooth and responsive.
Performance-wise, it’s a beast for multitasking. I usually have dozens of Chrome tabs open, a couple of big spreadsheets, and Photoshop running, and it doesn’t break a sweat. Fans kick in under heavy load, but they’re not obnoxiously loud. The screen is sharp, bright, and color-accurate, which makes both work and streaming look great.
Battery life is another strong point. I consistently get 7–8 hours with regular use, which covers a full workday if I’m not pushing it too hard. Charging is quick too—I can go from almost dead to over 50% in less than an hour.
If I had to nitpick, I’d say the speakers are just “okay”—they get the job done but don’t have much bass. Also, the ports could’ve been placed a little better, since some cables stick out awkwardly.
Overall, though, this laptop checks all the boxes: fast, reliable, and well-built. Definitely worth the price if you want something that can handle both productivity and light gaming without compromise.

I am using the previous version for ablut 8 months. It is very good one. In previous version one prpblem was Windows S mode. Apart from that that is best. But for this version they gave a windows without S mode means normal windows with 12 gb ram and i5 processor. I also see they add a graphics card too. I bouth it 290+tax. Now in my home I have two of them.
This one is solid built in this price. Sometimes fan sound may bother but not too much. Charge stay long n sufficient. Owebcam is super cool. So in this proce range I think this one is the best n best deal. I highly recommended this one. One thing to mention I do not play games n do not do heavy task only my graduate work. Overall I am satisfied

Setup was simple and user-friendly. For the price, the value is excellent. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs a reliable device for home, school, business, or ministry work.

I'm no computer expert and I wasn't looking for anything amazing when I was searching for a computer to replace my old one. What I can say is that this laptop, while obviously no supercomputer, is versatile; it runs well, has a good amount of storage space for my needs, and hasn't given me any real problems. The battery life is pretty impressive and the sound is crystal clear. If you want a computer that suits the general needs you have of one, then I'd give this a look.
