The mousepad isn't great, and it has other issues, but honestly? Of the three Asus laptops I've used in the past fifteen (?) years, two of them I thought were dead. Bought new or bought refurbished it didn't matter. My brother works at Dreamworks and he was baffled by the weird problems I had. Finally I thought back to Old Old Old School solutions to just about anything: Smack it and unplug and plug back in. With each Asus, I had to replace the charger. Right away. So if you consider an Asus, go to a Big Box Store and buy an Asus or Asus-compatible charger. It really is that simple.
