Best bang for the buck.

Best laptop for college students!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing. I don't know why the price is so low since it's so amazing. I am able to do my college homework, play sims 4 with custom content, and run Adobe Photoshop and illustrator, all with no problem! I'm buying another one! The batter life is a con tho, I have to bring my charger to campus if I wanna take notes during class. I usually stay all day at campus, and the laptop dies within 6 hours, but it's probably bc I always have many tabs open and gaming on sims 4 is bound to drain the batter as well.

Great deal
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got the laptop on deal of the day for $250, bought memory to max out at 16gb and a 1tb hard drive. Runs exception with total spending under $350. Can’t complain.

Amazing laptop with just one major problem
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop online when the price was still cut down. So far it's been fantastic. Lightweight, multitasking capability, very decent processing speed and battery life, proper mousepad sensitivity. Also aesthetically pleasing as a bonus. On top of that, I received a one-month free trial of Microsoft 365! There is only one major problem, and it's audio related. I can pair my Bluetooth headphones, but they won't actually connect or play audio. When I use wired earphones instead, I can hear audio, but the laptop does not register the earphones' built-in microphone. No amount of troubleshooting has helped me fix either problem. With that said, I still don't think I will be looking for a return or refund!

Nice compact high-powered computer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this computer because it's high powered and compact. If you're on the going, don't want to have a big computer in your person. This is the one for you.

Happy but poor battery life
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am quite satisfied with the product. I bought it to use for travel as I didn't want to carry my much more expensive, heavy larger laptop. It is quite quick and the overall quality is quite good for the price That is the positive. What I don't like is the battery life. So far I am getting about 3 hours of life before I need to plug it in. It shouldn't be too big of a problem if I have access to a power outlet. However it is just a disappointment overall[. Would love to increase the battery size if I could

Nice laptop for the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got it for half off and it was well worth the price. Small and light which is good for travel. I was carrying around a gaming laptop which is a lot heavier.

Great laptop
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is fantastic. It's build quality is great. It is plastic all around, but different types. The plastic on the bottom panel is a standard hard plastic. The plastic by the keyboard and on the lid is also plastic, but it feels like aluminum. The screen is great too. Its an HD TN panel, but its not as bad as others. The resolution is fine for the screen size, and the TN panel is significantly higher quality than others I've used. The viewing angles are ok for a TN. The performance is great, and its perfect for web browsing, streaming, and work. I got it on sale for $229, and for that price its unbeatable. Even at $429, its a great value.

Lightweight and thin, easy to travel with
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased as a backup since my Chromebook was getting old; seems to respond quickly to commands, lots of different features that I am still learning, it gives really good tutorials to help you ease your way via some of the features. Comes with copilot which is an AI feature that does come in handy, downside is that slow to update and you really have to have patience when adding some Bluetooth devices because it won't recognize some Bluetooth you may have to navigate around to find the perfect match b4 it will connect.

Disappointed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hmmm, it’s ok. Definitely wouldn’t work for my needs. It’s entirely too slow and its operating system wellll….let’s say, it’s okay for a child and their schooling. Once you actually get it going, sigh. I chose this as an upgrade to our sons old computer, as it’s had enough and it’s antiquated. This is lightweight, quiet and the perfect size for a kiddo. It was easy to setup, in the beginning or so I thought, although you are required to set up a Microsoft account. Which in my opinion is so unnecessary and shouldn’t be required to use or simply sign into a computer…any computer, but it wasn’t a pain (again…so I thought). It’s a very straightforward design with no gleaming bells or whistles. The keypad doesn’t even have backlights. No extra dongles and bobbles needed. It could possibly handle a few light weight games but I wouldn’t want to bog down the system. After initial setup, I came back to it about an hour later and it gave the circle dots of death after I entered the password for a good 10 mins and then turned black for a bit. Then I was stuck when it kicked back on to a “search for app in screen” text box and no matter what I did it would continue to pop up. This was still at the sign in screen. This issue lasted for a good while. I’m not sure why it did that, but nothing was added to the computer at this point after initial setup, so why it stalled out like this is beyond me. Also, apparently you need to have internet to sign into computer. So if your sign in screen pops up before the computer has time to recognize the wifi, you’ll have to deal with that too. Oh and if this is for a child be ready to create your own Microsoft account or be patient for a while if the computer doesn’t recognize your already created, old but RARELY used Microsoft account password. I almost got so frustrated re-entering the password over and over, I started to question if it was even correct although I could access it on my own personal devices and laptops. Microsoft is a pure headache. Finally, I’m in and parental controls are set. Wait..what..where is the cool Minecraft background/personalizations, printers, bluetooth devices and the few lightweight Microsoft games I’ve already added upon initially setting up the device? Gone. Went through finalizing all of that with a massive headache of slowness, circling screens, removal of pre loaded apps we don’t want kids to have access to, and a million Microsoft “failed but not really” logins to just sign into the laptop for all of the previous settings to be gone. Annoyed is the most friendly way to put it. It also takes forever to update changes, with its circling dots of death. My star rating has fallen from 4 to a 2 based on setup and speed. 3 stars for simplistic design. 3.5 stars for a kids that just needs a better computer. 1 star for an adult that needs a good/great computer. If you’re ok going through a bit of a hassle for a kid’s computer you could use this. But for an adult with things to do this is a definite…pass.
No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from ASUS Answers
Posted .Dear Shae,
Thank you for your comment and for sharing your experience with the laptop.
We do understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused setting up Windows initially. It does require an internet connection and a Microsoft account in order to successfully complete the initial Windows OS setup. Also, installing updates may take long depending on your internet speed and network traffic from the Windows update server. Once all these were performed and completed, the laptop will run at its optimum speed or performance.
Should you need further assistance with the product, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than happy to help. Great computer...for Linux.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a perfect computer...to run Linux on. I run Kubuntu and I upgraded the RAM to 16GB on this system and the power is amazing. Windows is not a good option for low end hardware like this. If you buy this computer, run Linux. It's an amazing system when you don't run Windows.
