It does everything I need to and it's very light weight. The only issue I have is the mouse pad sometimes doesn't work great.

Operating system is very difficult to use. Used to Windows 7 commands, icons, file listings, etc. So haven’t been using computer.

If you want cost effective light weight option, go for it. Not for high maintenance crew

This laptop is very good for the price. Coming with a 8th gen i5 and 8 gb of Ram ensures that performance is not an issue. I am an engineering student and have used the computer for NX CAD modeling and internet browsing. It handles everything with ease. Due to its smaller size it is also very easy to carry around. My only negative comments are the following: Screen: As other reviewers stated the screen is somewhat matte and not very vibrant. It would benefit greatly from an IPS display, But at this price point I cannot complain much. Fan: If doing anything more intense than internet browsing ( i.e games or CAD) the fan noise will get quite loud. Once again not a huge complaint at this price point and the desire to keep the laptop cool. The track pad: The sensitivity and feel of the track pad is not great. Sometimes it struggles to pick up my sweaty fingers. Design: It is all plastic. Once again I cannot complain much at this price point. But it would benefit greatly from metal hinges or accents. Overall it is a strong performer and budget laptop. Yes there are areas that it could improve yet for its price point it is a successful laptop for achieving my needs.

The mouse pad was a nightmare to get to work. It hardly ever responds unless you wipe it off after every gesture. The speakers are badly placed u see the laptop and sound horrible. Very bad. The brightness and viewing angles are also nothing to compliment.

Purchased this computer because it has good specs of having an Intel Core i5 processor and solid state drive. After only 7 months, the hard drive and motherboard went out and had to be replaced. Four months later, the screen broke due to the metal framing being thin. One month later (and just a weeks out of manufacturer's warranty), the computer is dead again just when we needed it for online learning. Fortunately, we have GeekSquad protection but unfortunately, computers with this type of processor are more expensive and we'll have to spend probably over $500 out of pocket due to cashing in the protection plan and having to add in tax and a new plan. Very disappointed and I will by no means ever recommend an ASUS computer to anyone.
