    Not worth it

This laptop is not worth the money. The laptop quit working 4 times within a 4 month time frame and each time it was sent in and returned, supposedly fixed only to quit working again. The company did not stand behind it and when it quit working the last time it was out of warranty and the company now wants to charge me for a repair that should have been fixed 4 months ago when it was under warranty. Waste of money!!!

    Not worth it.

Off the bat, I could not get it to pair with certain wifi's. Screen is cheap garbage. After a month motherboard fried on me. It seriously had no more than 24hrs use. I'll try to return it, but will not spend a dime on a new motherboard, because a new one is half the cost of this garbage new in box. I should have known better than to buy a cheap LT, but had good experience with ASUS in the past. This LT utilizes 3-18650 batteries in series that are crudely packaged together. Without getting into the details this is more than likely the source of other peoples battery problems. I'll put it like this, your average name brand drill battery has a better charging circuit built into it.

    Worst pc ever

The worst computer I have ever worked on in my entire life. It is so slow, you would be better off walking everywhere you need to do any business and writing everything out by hand. It is basically a paperweight. it takes me 10 to 20 times longer to get anything done on this computer than it does on my phone. It is so slow and I just sit here and wait like it’s a disl up from the 90s. Actually it’s even longer than that. And then it just freezes and closes out of stuff and disconnects. I cry every time I use it but I can’t afford anything else.

GREAT COMPUTER WINDOWS UPDATE IS NOT THE COMPUTER

This computer has nothing to do with the long windows update install. An excellent computer with a cd/dvd drive, it runs just like other brands, it is just a steal at the price it is at with all the technical things is has! Best buys best kept secret I say. If you go to use it right out of the box and don't do the innitial 3 hour charge, well, you don't want to follow the manufactures instructions I don't know, what can be said about that. You want a great deal and great computer, Asus is the brand to get, and this model....it isn't going to last.

The Geek Squad was good asus not so much

With in 6 months the laptop was slow to start and it would randomly shut down. I brought it back to Best Buy and they sent it off to the manufacturer. Several weeks later it came back and seemed to be ok. Then I noticed when I tried to right click on pictures and word documents, the screen would freeze then close everything and go back to the home screen. After several calls to asus and a few hours on the phone, they told me it would have to be sent back and because it was out of warranty by a couple weeks, I would have to pay for it. They would not give me any consideration for good will or extend my warranty for at least the amount of time I was with out the laptop. I can use it ok otherwise, but I feel that asus put out a low quality product and won't resolve issues with it.

    Not happy

There's GOTTA be some type of design flaw or something. For one, INCREDIBLY slow. I bought a cheap one because I use google docs for everything and I don't need a ton of space. Two, the laptop kept shutting off. Out of the blue. I took it in, I was told my warranty covered drops. Not software. I finally figured it out. The internal fan must be really high up in the laptop or something. While the laptop doesn't FEEL hot, the BIOS screen showed an internal temperature of 140° before it shut itself off. I even had it off my lap. It's ridiculous that average usage causes an automatic shut down. Not a fan of this Asus. I just purchased an $800 laptop from Sam's club so I don't have to deal with it anymore. Very unreliable. Wasted my money.

    Been trouble from the start

This laptop been trouble from the start. Bought in 2016 and got so frustrated, it was just parked for a while. Seem keys are stuck or something because it kept typing letters by itself. Eventually shut out because some keys failed so couldn't type in password, had to connect a usb keyboard. It is very slow. Trying to get it to work now so it would not be a total waste of money, but it is having Operating System issues. Not sure what is happening with windows 10 on this laptop. Best to search and spend some more money and get something better, i assure you that it is not worth the headache, better safe than sorry.

Slow. Loud fan, nice screen, nice speaker sound but had some popping sounds at times. Bought as open box. Returned it after 3 days of minimal use. I would not recommend to an adult, maybe kids only as a first time laptop.

    Beyond Horrible!

If I could give this laptop negative stars, I would. The laptop does not operate well with or without the power cable. I've had it for almost 2 weeks and in order for it to stay powered on, i have to sit almost at the position of attention and only type a few letters a time. Anything more than 10 letters it shuts off, if i shift positions, it shuts off, if i take too many breaths it shuts off. It's absolutely terrible. Once i get home, i am returning this laptop and spending the money on an Apple or something that doesnt always shut-off. I hope bestbuy takes it back!

    Too Much Set-up Stuff.

Speed was primary issue until hours of time needed to uninstall crapware and default anti-virus program. Once unwanted apps and start-ups disabled, it’s finally faster than the 5 year old basic Lenovo it replaced.

1 yr Christmas present gone bad. Unplug and goes down. New battery, same issue. Factory reset same issue. When connected it runs like a champ w a samsung ssd, but likes to drop the wifi. I have an ASUS low cost like this it is 4 yrs old on the same battery still kicking. must have got a lemon. Going to try Lenovo this time. Good luck. I cant be replacing laptops every year figure it out cost per month. My HP Pavillion lasted me 7 years, but it had an overheating issue. and was on Vista.

In four months time, this computer has had three hard drives. Now I have to constantly have to "reset" because the computer keeps running script which makes the computer run super-slow. While in line a Geek Squad a customer was in line behind me with the same model computer and his would not even boot up. Anytime I try to download any program, such as Open Office, it slows down to a crawl. Do not buy this computer unless you want long hours of frustration.

1.1 Gig processor, give me a break, My cellphone has more power. Out of the box initial update was 3Gb. this laptop really takes it's good old sweet time of opening up a new window and god forbid you should need to open a browser while installing a program. I am gonna take this machine back, I haven't owned a machine this slow since windows ME was on the market.

    I should have listened

All those reviews that say that their ASUS laptops just shut down unexpectedly are true. I've had this computer for less than three months and over the past couple of days, it just shuts off without any warning. I guess I should have expected it from such a cheap computer. And it's not like I put it through any extreme computing either. I bought this laptop just to use for some mobile word processing, usually at the library or coffee shop. I don't game on it, I very rarely watch any videos and don't surf the web much at all. I just used it as a writing tool and this laptop can't even handle that.

I bought the laptop in January of 2018 to work from home. All I need it for is Excel and Outlook, that’s it. I went to start it today (4 months after I purchased) and it took 30 mins to boot up to the lock screen and from there another hour to allow me to open outlook for my email. It won’t even start for me now and I haven’t downloaded anything on it and it has virus and malware protection. Don’t waste your money.

First this was an open box product. Setting up first time after 30 minutes of purchasing and shut down 3 times within an hour for no apparent reasons. Cursor kept disappearing even though was using a mouse, alpha and numeric stopped me from typing twice and very slow. All this in one hour. Can’t wait to return for a better computer for college courses with speed. This one is made for a pre-schooler.

-not easily upgradable -RAM appears to be soldered to the MB -overall, poor performance with doing even the most basic functions, not recommended for gaming, high res videos/pictures. -comes with ASUS bloatware that expires quickly and requires additional subscriptions for software that can be found elsewhere for less. -I purchased two of these for testing and sold them both. Both individuals have asked for their money back....

Got mine on an open box special for $80 Removed keyboard off the top, and removed HDD, added SDD and this computer is much faster. I do not recommend changing to SSD unless you know what you're doing.
