Screen looks good enough, even if there is some text fringing it makes up for it with OLED black levels. Performance is adequate. WiFi performance is great. Battery life is exceptional for a Windows laptop. Build quality is surprisingly good for the price. It's reasonably portable and light weight. I find the keyboard easy to type on. The track pad isn't the best but it works well anyway

Finally good audio in a Windows laptop, very close to the MacBook Air 15" M3. Excellent camera and superb OLED screen. It's fun to use this computer. Still, it's early days and some screens don't always complete. Wireless issues instead? Don't know. Full-day battery life and then some. I find myself switching between this and the MacBook Air. That's a good thing. Having a standard (no dongle) HDMI port on the S14 helps me make presentations easier. I would recommend this for people who are looking for a daily driver with a beautiful screen to look at.

Good value for a student laptop - for reference we paid ~$650. The overall build quality feels decent, not too much OEM bloat on software and the performance is more than enough to smoothly run productivity apps like Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc. Re reliability Asus as a brand is ok but not great (I bought an Asus in 2020 that died <2 wks but BB replaced no questions asked!) so I purchased 2 extra years warranty through BB.

I have been using the newly released Asus Vivobook S 14” OLED - Copilot+ Laptop for almost a week now and it is ready to replace my older high-end Yoga C930 4K laptop. I just need to finish transferring all my docs, pics and videos to it. Asus is well known for building quality desktops, laptops, screens and components such as motherboards that I’ve always used in my custom PC builds. This laptop is no exception - it is thin and light aluminum construction, yet solid and sturdy. Despite its relatively small size, Asus was able to pack some mid to high-level performance into a relatively slim package at about 1/2” thick and under 3 lbs. This model comes with the NPU enabled Intel Core Ultra 5 Series 2 - 226v CPU w/8-cores and Max Turbo Boost Frequency up to 4.5 GHz. When it comes to multi-tasking for work, media or play this is an efficient and powerful workforce. Moreover the 16 GB of high speed LPDDR5X of memory is plenty to simultaneously run many modern apps, create and edit large documents, graphics, videos, spreadsheets and presentations. Also contributing to the speedy performance is the 512 MB M.2 PCIe 4.0 Solid State Drive that helps boot this laptop in about 20 seconds. The Intel Arc graphics is no slouch either. It’s great for everyday home and business use, media consumption and light to medium gaming. Battery life is surprisingly great with the 4-cell 75Ah Li-Ion battery and USB-C charger. Was able to go through a whole work-day on a single charge. Where this Vivobook truly shines is the 14” OLED screen that has very bright and vivid colors in WUXGA FHD+ resolution (1920x1200) with thin bezels, great for work productivity and HD movies. Speaking of HD movies, this laptop has excellent Dolby Atmos sound by Harman Kardon for very immersive sound for a laptop. Additionally it also incorporates a quality 1080p webcam with facial recognition and a built-in privacy slider and a built-in microphone with AI Noise Cancellation that works really well for on-line video conferencing. Another nice touch is the customizable RGB backlit keyboard which makes this laptop easy to type on in any lighting conditions. As for external connectivity, the Vivobook is very well equipped with two USB 3.2 Type-A for legacy devices and two USB-C Thunderbolt 4.0 ports and an SD-card reader as well as an HDMI 2.1 port for quick TV connectivity. This laptop also comes with the latest generation low-power consumption Bluetooth as well a very fast Wi-Fi 7, 2x2, wireless card. The initial setup is pretty standard completion of the Windows 11 installation and updates, and a few Asus specific apps, but not much bloatware compared to other brands. This laptop is CoPilot+ AI enabled, with a dedicated shortcut key which will work with Microsoft/Windows Apps. This capability works smoothly and is future proof made possible by the built-in NPU Intel AI Boost. A few things would have made this a nearly perfect laptop for me: Touch screen should be standard on laptops at this price point Larger storage, 1 TB would be the sweet spot Smaller touchpad, though the oversized one it comes with works well Upgradable memory, though it may be a limitation of the CPU All in all, I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an all around mid-range, good travel companion laptop with a beautiful OLED screen, office and school work, media consumption/creation/editing (without touchscreen capabilities) and occasional light gaming.
