Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thought things were going well, although the fan is pretty loud, and sometimes would run at high speed for a prolonged time for no apparent reason. After 10 days, the wireless network adaptor failed, and I could not tell if it was a hardware or software issue. So I returned it.

I do understand your concern about the load noise coming from the fan. It is normal for the fan to spin at full-throttle while the laptop is under heavy load, during the initial WINDOWS setup and WINDOWS Update installation. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. It does decreases or normalizes once utilization goes down once WINDOWS setup and update completed. Malware and antivirus software running in the background can eat lots of resources and will cause the fan to spin faster , also. Malfunctioning Display, Lightly Used.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially this was an amazing machine... by far the best computer I'd ever purchased. It doesn't get used much, maybe 3-4 hours a week. It's never been moved since I brought it home. I keep up on updates and am very careful with my electronics. About 6 months ago, I turned it on and noticed a black vertical line running from the top edge of the display to the bottom. At first I thought maybe it was a window border that was somehow "stuck" open, but after repeated attempts at clearing it, I found a post online that suggested taking a screenshot of it and noting whether or not the line showed up in the screen shot to determine if it was a hardware or software issue. To my disappointment, it turns out to be a hardware issue. So now I have a lightly used $1200 malfunctioning desktop. I understand, now, all the cautions about buying an AIO unit. Very disappointing. I will likely not replace this anytime soon even though that line is going to drive me nuts. As far as the specs go, it's got great internals that can keep up with everything I'm using it for. But that line... it's just stomach-turning every time I turn it on. If and when I do replace it, I will probably have to reconsider the Asus brand after 15+ years as a customer and fan of their products.

Better to avoid purchasing this item
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This AiO was purchased in late OCT 2018. Within 2 weeks 'black scree'. ASUS CS correctly diagnosed the problem with the MoBo & Face Recognition, so I sent it by way of BestBuy to a repair facility in Atlanta. Returned in three weeks, with a new MoBO & Face recognition working. Within the next one week the 'black screen' appeared again. Today (DEC 2018) I am returning this to BB for credit. The worst part is I always thought highly of ASUS due to their personnel in the Anaheim area for which I was a consultant. My view of the product capability and supply chain, however, is not very good.

I certainly understand your disappointment with the product and the inconvenience this may have caused you. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, this is a random problem. Usually, you will do the following to resolve the no boot up or black screen issue.Try to do a power cycle a couple of times. Shut it down completely, wait for at least 10 seconds then power on. Please wait, if the system is applying updates in the System Registry, it will black screen temporarily. If it still black screen after a few minutes, at least 10 minutes, please repeat the power cycle process again. Please verify if the AC adapter was properly connected from the laptop to a working surge protector or AC outlet and the power button is being pressed all the way down to trigger a power on signal. Also, please try to disconnect the power cable and let the unit drain for 24 hours to clear the memory and reset the hardware to default settings. After doing this, please reconnect your AC adapter then power on the unit. Poor reliability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This computer had issues from day one, but were mainly attributed to Windows 10. After 18 months, it failed to turn on. Power supply was fine & found out the motherboard failed. Not wanting to spend approx. 800.00 to repair, have decided against buying another AIO computer or any products from Asus.

Broke two months after I got it.

In order to maintain optimum system stability and performance, cumulative WINDOWS Update needs to be installed periodically. If you are accessing web applications, please make sure the unit has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since this will definitely affect system speed and performance.
