Other than some small scratches it looks and runs great. The battery isnt super strong but i may have to tweak the settings to get it to where i need it. It's so fast and so nice, while being relatively inexpensive in comparison to laptops with similar SPECs. My only complaint, is the mouse pad is a little wonky - it's not as responsive as I'd like but that seems to be with all Asus products, unfortunately. I think it's that weird calculator thing. But really, other than that, phenomenal piece of equipment.

2022 open box ASUS Zenbook 14" OLED gets very hot

Bought this lovely 2022 OLED model emergently, as a low cost open box item. Later on found that as many reviews stated it runs very very hot esp under heavy load like mult tabs and apps open and while charging. So I returned it. 2023 model is not supposed to get this hot, but much more expensive. Also tabs at back bottom of 2022 lid dig into your thighs, not 2023 model. HWinfo and battery testing CMD info confirm that this item was likely a heavily used floor model. Battery life was disappointing too.

So bad

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My overall experience with this laptop was so bad: first the material this laptop is made of are really cheap, second, when I tried to make a video call the fan speeded up a lot without stopping and the computer got ver hot in addition to the loud noise of the fan of course. Also the speakkers weren't working properly: the voice of the person was breaking up a lot even when he switched to a different laptop. The noisy fan and the heat kept happening even with normal use. Finally, I would not recommend this laptop to anybody!

It's regrettable to hear that the unit gets really hot and the fan noise is loud. This is not the kind of experience we want our customers to have. Usually, when system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full throttle. Please refer to the FAQ below. His old one had a failing hard drive and I didn’t see the point in repairing a 4 year old computer. He’s said nothing but good things! Uses it mostly for work (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.). For what he’s using it for, it definitely does the job. I’ve played with it myself and it’s pretty speedy.

But for me it was too small and I didn't like the shortcuts. I want to press one button to get to the end of a sentence. I had my 17in laptop for about 7 years. So go from that to this was a big leap for me but I'd recommend this to any laptop savvy person.

Not enough memory!

I used it for about a week and kept running into issues with the 8gb of memory not being enough for day to day use. I looked into upgrading the memory but it is not up-gradable on this model so I had to return it and buy another laptop with 16gb of memory for an extra 200 dollars. So I would definitely look into the next model up with more memory if Your considering this laptop.
