I´m writing this under the assumption that this is a rare occurence for this product. I have had other ASUS product before, however, I had to take a complete loss on this product. It was 750 bucks which for me is a significant amount. I bought this a year ago and I was very excited as it had great reviews. The story is I finally decided to move abroad and experience something completely different. I thought a new computer would be a smart move before the big move. I bought this computer with the warranty. I moved to Colombia and within 2 weeks the screen hinge, then the screen, broke on me. The warranty is not honored outside the US and, in my stupidity, I cancelled the warranty because it didn´t help me there. Fast forward a year and I am back in the United States. I take it to a professional and they quote me 650. At this price I may as well buy a new one. It was my fault not recognizing that the warranty is not honored outside the US. That was my mistake and I cannot fault them for it. I am really disappointed that the computer did not last long. As stated before, 750 is a lot to me, and I treated that computer very gently so I don´t believe I caused the hinge to break. I think this was an absolute freak occurance as no one else has reported about an issue with the hinge. It sucks that I had that luck however. Unfortunately, I will likely not buy another ASUS product as it let me down in very stressful time. I think this was a freak occurance and will be HIGHLY unlikely for you but I will not be purchasing from this company again.
