Really nice laptop. Once you uninstall all of the bloatware, the ram usage goes to about 3gb out of 8gb. Battery life is goodish, wish i could get a little more. Can't undervolt the cpu to be able to run the unit alittle cooler but over all its a nice unit with a beautiful screen. Don't usually hear the fan unless you are using it muted and even then not really a sound. Upgraded the m.2 to a gen 4 2tb firecuda 530 and makes it a little bit quicker. I use this mainly to play emulation games on the go. Mario kart double dash looks so pretty on this screen.

Great laptop overall! The Screen was beautiful, battery life was amazing. Size & weight was perfect just wanted something decently powerful but lightweight and most important battery life. But sadly I got a dud and or borked BIOS update. After doing windows update which so happened to have also uploaded the BIOS I lost audio (not a driver issue) There were several BIOS updates in a span of just a few days for this model for some reason as well. Fresh install of Windows 11 and drivers from ASUS no audio. Audio driver was fine, it was one of the Intel drivers that was having the issue stating "FW not found" or "couldnt start" in device manager. Otherwise this would've been the perfect laptop. Leaving this review in case anyone comes by with the same issue still curious if it was an actual hardware issue or the current BIOS revision did it. I did end up returning the laptop and getting a different ASUS model.

This laptop is very good. I have had owned various ASUS laptops in the past and they have been good for me. The specs: 90hz OLED 2.8K Panel with 100% of sRGB and P3 color space. 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM ( soldered onto the MB) 256GB SSD ( Upgradable) Intel I5-1240P Intel Iris Xe Graphics Backlit Keyboard Touchpad with their Numpad on it Anyways I got this laptop initially to do online school and I needed a light laptop for it with good battery life. This only ways slightly more than 3 pounds and the battery life was rated at 18 hours. The screen is gorgeous with that OLED panel and at 90hz it makes windows look smooth. the Intel i5 is a P series CPU which is supposed to be a middle ground between their performance cpu's their H series and their ultra low voltage cpus their U series. My only limitation for me was the 8GB of RAM which is soldered onto the MB and can't upgrade it down the line and I felt I wanted more than 8GB of RAM so I did end up returning this since a similar laptop ASUS sells like this was on sale for $799 that also had similar specs but an intel i7 and 16GB of RAM with more storage as well with 512GB SSD

    Perfect for Light Use but…

This sweetie just dominates certain aspects even when compared to laptops of higher price. Of course the most brilliant feature is the OLED screen, it’s just so good with the color and display. You can’t find anything better than this in the price level < 1k. And the ASUS design is just so clean but elegant. The touch and the design make you feel like this is a high level laptop. I mean yeah there really isn’t much things on it except a few lines on the cover but for me this is the best design. Portable. It’s a small one, very easy to carry around. The touchpad is so smooth so feel free to use it without a mouse. Many people praise the number pad attached to the touchpad but honestly I rarely use that feature since I find it so hard moving my mouse and typing numbers at the same time with a single touchpad. Ok then here we have something to be aware before buying it. 1. Graphic card and RAM…. Yeah light use only. Xe graphic card is absolutely garbage for gaming, video editing, modeling, etc. Even if you don’t have high demand for graphic card, the RAM is way tooooo low. AND IT’S NOT EXPANDABLE!!!! 8gb soldered to the motherboard it’s absolutely the most stupid design on this laptop. They don’t even give you a choice to upgrade it. Yeah it sucks. My laptop takes 5g when idle and the total is only 8g. Yeah in conclusion this is just for light use, if you are just watching videos and doing some basic tasks, you will love this cute little piece, but if you are using some professional softwares, def go for higher level laptops, if you are using it for gaming…. League is fine, nothing higher than that plz. 2. Battery Life. As I said it’s portable, but usually it takes 3 hours to drop from 80% to 0 for normal use in the default settings (but I usually use high brightness which might lead to the short battery life). If you decrease the brightness and change the settings I believe you can extend that, but just be aware of the battery life issue. It’s decent, but not long. 3. Great thunderbolt 4, but One USB-A only. The laptop has two usb-c and supports thunderbolt, which is also the only way you can charge it, but you have only one USB-A port. I uses mine to connect my wireless mouse, but if I need to insert a usb drive then I have to disconnect my mouse which is a little bit annoying. 4. Cleaning. The keyboard can get dirty quite fast (or probably I should wash my hands more often?), I don’t consider that a big issue but just be aware. Overall it’s just so great especially in this price level. I bought it with $550 plus tax and I can’t find any major flaw beside the 8g ram. I’m now getting a new ASUS M16 for college but I would definitely keep this zenbook even just for the screen and the design. I would definitely prefer this zenbook over m16 for watching anime or doing simple works.

For the price, this laptop is hard to beat. The i5 is plenty powerful for everyday tasks such as web browsing, email management and office work. The highlight of this computer is the screen. It's absolutely stunning. It's a high refresh rate OLED that produces stunning colors. The only let down is the ram is soldered but is expected in this class of laptop. 8 gb of ram isn't very future proof but in my few weeks of testing I have had no issues. The ssd is gen 4 and upgradeable.

For 500-600 bucks, no laptop comes even close to beating this thing. Especially if you can make do with 8 gigs of RAM. Which I can since I basically just use it for chrome, office, and media consumption. Anything more, you should probably look for 16 GB or more. And while the CPU is strong, the thermal design is not great and will hold you back beyond basic, bursty tasks. Looks good, amazing screen, thin and light, cheap, powerful CPU. Good keyboard, good trackpad with numpad. I enjoy using this laptop. Most people will.

Awesome Laptop, bought at 750 it went on sale for 499 was able to price match and get money back. The screen is the best I've seen on a laptop hands down. I feel the screen is the most important thing there is. The keyboard feels like the same spacing as a normal keyboard. Battery Life is good. Min Bloatware. I5 is great, the SSD is fast. Only thing wish the ram could be upgraded. Overall for 500-750 really cant beat this laptop.

Very sleek and fast for basic internet browsing. The screen is relatively small for the high resolution it can output and the screen is very clear. Would recommend at a lower price, not at MSRP. From what I've read the storage and RAM cannot be expandable so that's the only real problem I see with this laptop.

Amazing Machine. For the regular price of $750 it's well worth the investment. At $500 on sale, there's absolutely no reason not to get it if you're in the market for a laptop within this category (Ultralight, School/University/Office work). The screen is absolutely amazing and would easily be found on a laptop at 2x-3x the price of this one. Keyboard is great for a thin and light, though a finger print magnet. Performance is excellent despite being hard capped to 8GB which is perhaps the one and only downside to an otherwise amazing machine. If this had been 16GB, it would be near perfect for a laptop in this price range. 256 GB for storage is low as well but if you buy this discounted ($500 or less), you can pass on the savings and get a nice 1TB+ drive for $80+. Battery Life is dependent on the usage(resolution, workload/brightness levels). But it should get minimum 5 hours to maybe 8 if you squeeze things out by putting it on lowest performance and battery saver. Still should be sufficient for 80-90% of people. To summarize, this is a good product at the $750 price tag. At a discounted $500 price tag, it's an absolute steal for the screen alone. The build quality and features are just icing on an already appetizing cake.

Best laptop screen I've ever had. Very good speakers (turn on enhanced audio in settings, sound, speaker). Keyboard and trackpad are excellent. I kept accidentally turning on numpad 2.0 on the trackpad, so I disabled that in the myAsus app. I don't mind the smaller screen (I use a 16 inch laptop for work) because the screen DPI is high enough that all the icons, text, etc. are sharp. Wifi reception is very good. The system is fast and for my use case of outlook, word, excel, browsing, watching videos, I think the 8GB RAM is fine. I don't need more than 256GB storage because I store my docs on OneDrive. Good battery life of 6-7 hours with 70% brightness, best power efficiency power plan, bluetooth mouse on, keyboard light on, standard fan mode. During the first couple of days, the laptop was downloading a lot of updates and indexing the disk drive; the case was very warm during that time and I could hear the fan. But after everything settled down, I don't hear the fan and the laptop doesn't heat up. The build quality is very good. The creaking sound you hear when you tilt back the screen comes from 2 plastic feet, that prop up the laptop, scraping your desk; it's not a build defect. Gorgeous color and excellent brightness. At the $750 price point, I don't see any better option.

A Good Laptop Hampered by Drivers

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Recently purchased this Asus laptop as I wanted to try out Intel’s first discrete laptop GPU while at the same time also wanted a laptop with a 120hz oled screen (this Zenbook fit the book). One thing you’ll notice with the laptop are issues with drivers when you play both old and new titles (games will not launch, spit out an error message and still launch, or very rarely launch normally like a Nvidia/Amd graphics card would). Even being on the desktop presents issues with Google Chrome often going pitch black when watching Youtube (I can still access the desktop, but Chrome itself is black with the video still playing and I would have to close and reopen the browser). I’m hoping Intel would be able to make a dent into the discrete GPU market, but this is definitely not it at the current moment (performance is barely comparable to Nvidia’s 3050 laptop GPU). Build quality on the laptop is otherwise good-great with the chamfered edges providing a nice contrast on the case. The Touchscreen Oled display is also beautiful and color accurate to Pantone’s standard while also being very responsive. I’m returning and exchanging mines though as I noticed a few large gaps around the screen edges and power button which I wanted to confirm if it is normal with the second unit. Compared to other options in this price bracket, there are many which meet/exceed this Zenbook graphically, but the main things they lack are a 2-in-1 QHD+ Oled touchscreen display while also being thin with a discrete GPU which you are a premium for with this laptop. I plan on keeping this laptop despite the driver issues as I believe Intel will iron them out over time (I’ve also liked the screen and touch responsiveness though I’ve never used a MPP 2.0 compliant stylus pen on it yet).

I enjoy this computer, I am loving everything about it. The 90hz OLED screen looks amazing and I definitely recommend it for people who want a great display. Great purchase for the money! I have been a Mac girl for a long time, but it was time for a change. This has an efficient processor, and everything runs very smoothly. One of the most important things to me was the weight of a laptop. It is super lightweight, and I am still able to get great graphics and memory. The fact that it has a sleek look makes it even better!

I have nothing but good things to say about this laptop. At $750, it's a decent deal, but on sale it's a great deal. Yes, it would have better with upgradable ram. I have not encountered any "creaking" as some mentioned, nor is the fan noise an issue. Great screen, solid performance and very good build quality. Highly recommended!

First impressions. This laptop is absolutely amazing for the price. I got it on sale for 500 but the normal price of 750 is a fair price too. for 500 dollars you are getting a 2.8K 90Hz 400 nit screen. That is unheard of for this price. I play some light gaming. I had a Macbook and it could not even run basic games at a similar resolution with a lower Hz display, at 35-40 FPS. All this laptop has is Intel Iris Integrated Graphics. And with that, I can play league at medium high settings at the native 90 FPS for the display. This is basically a MacBook equivalent with its build and look. The keyboard is very good and also reminds me of the MacBook with the clickiness. At this point, there is absolutely no reason to by an apple laptop. you pay more for less performance. If you were stuck between sticking with an apple laptop or getting this, get this. So far I am very satisfied. A few nitpicks, The RAM and Storage is low but it is a 500 dollar laptop and for the trade off of the screen I will take it. (Baseline MacBook Air has the same storage and ram for double the price) Lastly, I hate the power button. it is clicky in a bad way and the fingerprint reader is embedded in the power button and it is not good. Again though, worth the trade off

I bough this laptop open box excellent and I have been using it for 2 weeks now and I have the below pros and cons - Pros - 1. Display - it’s a OLED display and its really bright and colors are very punchy. Contents are looking very soothing and no extra sharpening. 2. Sound - This laptop’s sound really impressed me. It has Dolby Atmos and it gets more than enough loud at 50%. 3. Portability - it’s a 13.3 inch laptop so the size is very portable as its weight. No issues carrying it in hand or bag pack 4. Speed - it has i5 12th Generation processor, 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD, so its comfortably fast. I am not a gamer so cannot comment on gaming performance. Cons - 1. MyASUS app looks pretty outdated and of early 2000 type so ASUS needs to work on it. 2. The calculator on touchpad is a gimmicky feature and its get annoying sometimes as the light turns on sometimes accidentally. I wish there would be any option to permanently disable it. Apart from that it has 2 USB C port, 1 USB A which is expected. Battery is average. I like the option not to charge beyond 80% to elongate the battery life Though its a open box but its a certified open box, so I expected better packaging but the batter was not properly kept inside the box, few smudges and fingerprints on the screen but no dent or scratches.

Nice features/value, but speaker quality issues

I bought this during the July 4th sale, and felt it was a good mix of features for the price, particularly with the 16:10 2K OLED display, 12th Gen processor, decent keyboard and trackpad, and good ports selection. The battery life is OK. The machine does run warm, but I think that is expected for this 12th Gen processor. I wish more memory could be added later to add more life to this machine, but 8GB is still very nice for casual use. But I noticed the right speaker buzzed for certain tones/frequencies when getting notifications or playing some streaming movies/music. For a laptop with such a great screen and featuring Dolby Atmos it begs to have a good speaker experience, but my kid noticed the speaker buzz right away and pointed it out to me. I took the bottom cover off looking for the source of the buzz, but I could not resolve it. I returned laptop #1. After I received laptop #2 it had the same buzz from the right speaker. I returned laptop #2. Laptop #3 sounded great, no right speaker buzz! But after 2 weeks the sound stopped playing from both speakers, windows reported some intel driver failure and factory resetting windows did not solve it. I brought laptop #3 in to Geek Squad. After they verified the audio wasn't working, laptop #3 refused to power on anymore. They gave me Laptop #4 to replace it. It also had the same buzz from right speaker issue, but it was not as bad as laptop #1 and #2. I ended up keeping laptop #4 after finding I could minimize the buzz by loosening a few bottom cover screws, but frankly it still buzzes and it bothers me that I can't not hear it. I debated giving up and getting a refund, but this laptop was still a good value for everything but the speakers. Overall the whole experience of bad right speaker sound left me frustrated and disappointed with Asus quality. I would score this laptop as a 4 or a 5 given the great features for the price. Given my hit or miss quality experience for right speaker buzz I'm rating it a 3. I did try reaching out to Asus support to see if they had a resolution, but the Asus system kept routing me back to Geek Squad. Geek Squad seemed surprised that I would give Asus 4 chances. I know others that received this laptop with perfect speakers and love it. You might too if you're lucky, or you might be unlucky like me. So if you're lucky or don't care about audio, I recommend it. But since not everyone is lucky I'm marking this as not recommended. I expect maybe 1 out of 4 people that buy this laptop will get one with good speakers.

This is an amazing deal. The screen is worth the cost of the laptop. However, two problems. It runs hot, and the chassis creaks a lot. This won't matter as much if you just leave it on a desk, but holding it with one hand, opening the screen, causes the chassis to flex and creak. Maybe I just got a bad example, but that's my experience.
