Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the lightweight, price, battery life, and performance of the Zenbook 14" Laptop. They appreciate its portability, affordability, long battery life, and ability to handle daily tasks and simple gaming. However, customers are negative about the keyboard, fan noise, soldered RAM, heating issues, and key visibility. They find the keyboard difficult to use due to poor backlighting and faint print, and express concerns about the laptop's cooling and RAM expandability.

I like it, truth be told this is my first personal laptop. If I were to change anything, it would probably be the amount of USB portals it comes with. Besides that, this thing is pretty versatile and easy to work with. Very fast for such a small package laptop, lacks a little memory, but I was prepared for that with a 4TB external drive. Thanks for the black Friday deal guys.

This is a lightweight laptop computer with amazing quick access to programs with an ease of use and was a perfect accompaniment on a 3 week trip out of state. As a professor with tons of assignments to grade, I found this laptop to be far easier to use than my workplace issued one. I want to buy a second one for my husband - and he doesn't even realize that he needs one like this for transport between multiple worksites!

Bought for my mom fir Mother’s Day / birthday present while laid up in bed after surgeries. It’s been a great laptop. She loves it. She VPN’s to work, does her tax return and surfs the internet. Much faster than her desktop. Just wish all Asus came with backlit keys on keyboard.

It very quick, like but it has enough power to run Photoshop and and a bunch of other programs. I also do a lot of Zoom conferencing and the Mike and camera are excellent. The only thing I don't like is is the silver keys they are difficult. To see in dim light

It was between the Zenbook and HP envy 3-in-1. Both laptops have the new Ryzen 4500u, 256gb ssd, and 8gb non-upgradable ram. Decided to go with the Zenbook seeing that it came with a dedicated MX350 GPU and for $100 less. I’m telling you right now, go with the Zenbook. Use the extra money to upgrade the storage to 512gb or even 1TB. (Be sure to clone the drive, do not perform clean install) The Dedicated GPU allows you to play games with respectable frame rates. I’m not a gamer, but having an ultrabook with great battery and the capability to play games when I want is a definite plus. 60 FPS - GTA V medium (some high) settings (1080p) 60 FPS - Apex Legends low-Medium settings ***If you’re looking for a laptop at the time of this review, be sure to grab one that includes a Ryzen 4000 series processor. Not only are the laptops typically cheaper, but they also outperform intel chips.***

I bought this for my wife to replace a Lenovo system that had hinges breaking the case at the corners -- 2nd one from Lenovo to do that. Never again!! I've had good luck with Asus with two different laptops, so when I saw this one on sale, I jumped at the chance for another one. It's not been a disappointment. The case is solid -- tough metal and smooth. Very little flex to it when picked up. The screen hinges seem good. Keyboard is fine for typing, though the backlight isn't the greatest. It lights up the white letters on the silver keys, and there isn't enough contrast to make it easily readable. Not a critical feature though. The screen is gorgeous, and the processor and drive seem very snappy. My wife really likes the facial recognition feature for logging in since she isn't the best with passwords (we all have too many!). The bottom line is that it's light, thin, bright, and speedy -- can't ask for much more in a basic, more or less midgrade laptop. My old Zenbook (2016 era) looks like a dinosaur in comparison.

This is my second ASUS laptop. The first one I had for 5 years and I just crack the screen and just decided to get a new one, So far I have only had this a couple of weeks. Added a larger SSD card to it. So far Like the the laptop. The backlite on the keyboard could be better but that's during the day at night its fine. Like I said only had it for a few weeks but had my older ASUS for 5 years and had no problems.

    For my brother

My brother got this laptop for college as well. Being a triplet, and the most savvy of the three, it was my responsibility to choose technology for my siblings. This laptop was not only an amazing value, but the 1080p IPS display is sharp, the laptop has a facial recognition login feature, and both the CPU and GPU allow for hardware acceleration at no deficit. I predict that this laptop will easily last my brother years as he will most commonly use it for chrome to access the plethora of Google Suite applications, attend classes via Zoom, and stream video on Netflix and Hulu. He also plans to occasionally play CS:GO if he has the time and motivation to do so, something that this laptop will have no issues running if need be. Finally, the laptop possesses a full aluminum alloy body. When holding and using it, both my brother and I noticed the high build quality near instantaneously. This laptop will easily fit in nearly any average sized bag because of the renowned portability the Asus ZenBook line offers.

So far, a great laptop. It's sleek, stylish, and extremely light weight. My only complaint is that if it left on on a fabric surface, the fan becomes extremely loud, despite the computer not feeling hot at all. I have since left it on my desk only and have had no more fan issues.

Purchased this on a whim. Nice and light laptop, the battery is excellent, can get up to 10+ hours in save mode, about 7+ hours in regular mode. The only drawback is that the screen is non touch but it is not a deal breaker. The screen colors are excellent. Overall a really nice laptop so far especially for $550. I would highly recommend it.

My in-laws were wanting to get their first ever laptop and asked me to pick out one and set it up for them. I did a lot of searching for one that was in their price range and that checked as many boxes as possible. I definitely wanted to go with an AMD 4000 series chip and the 4500u is great for a mid range laptop. They aren't going to be playing games on it and if we are being honest, the MX350 isn't going to be worth it if you are a serious gamer. Battery life was a big factor, backlit keyboard is a plus, large track pad... they would never use a touch screen or use a 2 in 1 laptop in tablet mode, so this is a great choice for them. I am comparing it with my Huawei MateBook X Pro i7 8550u / 16gb and a MX150. The Zenbook with the 4500u loads everything faster, gets much better battery life and looks just as good. Both have very similar screen to body ratios and I thought my Huawei had a great screen and color until I spent time with the Zenbook. The Zenbook has 100% sRGB and colors just pop. I think the 3:2 ratio with 3000x2000 resolution on my Matebook X Pro makes things look a tad crisper and sharper but it was also twice the price. If the Zenbook had a finger print reader, I would be tempted to sell my MateBook X Pro and pick up one of these as a replacement. This model doesn't have a finger print reader but the other Asus models puts it in the trackpad which would drive me crazy. I love how HP and Huawei put the reader on the power button. TL:DR - excellent laptop for the money, great feature set and great screen.
