Great for students with $550 budget
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good, portable laptop. Adequate specs for student use- Excel, many browser tabs, memory-heavy apps like Teams, Outlook. Metallic finish makes it sturdy and look sleek. One concern with touchpad is that scrolling with 2 fingers is not so responsive when I use it with Excel or Chrome apps.

Can’t see the keys
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice size, well made. The letter and numbers are barely visible. They are the same color as the keys. I will have to use my label maker and make the letters, numbers, and symbols, and stick them on each key. Not sure t by is will work, bit giving it a try. Otherwise, I can barely see the keys. I thought of using a Sharpie, but I don’t think that would look good. The laptop is well made, but very poor design choice with the keys.

ASUS Zenbook
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect for what I wanted! Only negatives for me is the camera isn't the best (still good) and the fan will turn, and stay on, often.

Not safe, but fast
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No access plate for HDD nor ram. Had to go through windows recovery to get to bios. No button at start to get to bios so if your recovery partition is corrupted and you haven't set up bios then it'd be cheaper to buy new comp then fix. I consider it unsafe for a standard user, wouldn't recommend. Processor is good ram is good, start up is quick. I've no idea if mobo has e-sata port because it has T6 bolts on bottom. Wouldn't recommend for Linux or dual OS. Would have returned it if I had time to get down there. I think I'm stuck with it now.

Wish I could have kept it
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this laptop. It was so easy and quick to use. I loved the look of the laptop and it was so light. It was easy to carry and love how sleek it was. Unfortunately, I did have to return it because I need more storage for my job and I didn't want to mess with other devices to add that storage.

Zen and the Art of ASUS
||Posted . It's thin form-factor makes it easy to stow and carry in a backpack. Definitely a solid performer!

Really good. Intel fanboy believing in AMD now
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was quite biased to Intel in the past, and I probably still am. But got this for a user and for the same price I'm really impressed. Very fast, beautiful, light. It is also a one hand open design, which is awesome. Only issues are: 1) USB c charger... 2) metal is kind of thin so I thought it was plastic first. AMD CPU is fast and nice. Very impressed. Display is also very nice. Ram is super fast speed. Come on Intel!! AMD is doing laps around you.

Great Value
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Laptop works great. The speed is pretty fast love the screen. Was not sure about the AMD Ryzen 5 because I normally purchase Intel Core I-5. But I am pleased with my purchase. The size is just perfect very light weight so I can care it anywhere. Over all a great purchase.

Great value
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is great for a mid-range laptop that has gaming capabilities. Don't expect to play most high-end games on the High or Ultra video settings, but definitely enjoy any game on Medium settings. Very quit boot-up time, a decent amount of storage. Really no complaints at all.

Nice, light laptop for kids
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked up 2 of these for the kids to take to school and to use for schooling-at-home. Very light compared to other models. Keyboard backlight could be a little brighter, but the machines are very fast. The kids are loving them so far.

An overall good laptop hindered by QC issues
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the realm of the increasingly saturated market of thin and lights, this unit has a unique combination of above average display and build quality, its specs are otherwise average except the Geforce MX350 which is a nice addition if abit puzzling considering the more than capable onboard Vega graphics. The Good: +Display is above average color space (100% SRGB coverage) +Build Quality is fantastic, its ultra book quality. +MX350 discrete graphics has 2GB dedicated VRAM +Touchpad is above average for this segment The Bad: -Keyboard back lightning is awful -No USB-C Charging -Mediocre Battery Life The Ugly: --First unit had defective keyboard back lighting with several LEDs orange in color, as well as mild back light bleed --Second unit came with back light bleed in all 4 corners, and a dent on the bottom Bottom Line: If you can get a good one, this is a fantastic laptop, worth of 4 out of 5 star rating, but I cannot rate this higher than 2 stars in good faith considering my experience, you are simply taking a chance buying one of these.

Posted .Dear Rayman30,
It's good to know that you are satisifed with the laptop overall. Do understand your concern about the backlit keyboard, battery life and USB charging.
Regarding the backlit keyboard, it is recommended to turn it off or adjust the keyboard brightness level while working in a well illuminated room or area, in order to improve color contrast, by tapping the hotkeys, "Fn + F7", repeatedly.
The USB ports is capable of charging cellphone.
The battery life is approximately 7 hours with light to medium workload. In order to improve or prolong the battery charged life, please do a manual calibration by draining it completely then charging it fully without using the system. Once fully-charged, please use the system, without the AC adapter connected, and drain it completely. Please repeat the charging process thereafter. Also, please verify if the unit is running with the most current system update and third-party battery draining applications are not running if not in used.
Should you need further assistance with the product, please email me at [email protected] and I would be more than happy to help. Or, you can speak to an ASUS live support agent at http://bit.ly/AsusLiveChat.
Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

Zenbook, always awesome value and peformance.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a 14 inch laptop, this thing is light, it's less than 2.65lbs. Also the webcam support IR for Windows Hello, which means you can login without inputting your password. Overall, Asus delivered again on their zenbook series.

Great Everyday Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is light, quick, and incredibly affordable. I'm impressed with the build quality overall. I love that it's quite durable, having passed a variety of tests (drop, temp, vibration, etc.). Admittedly it's not the highest on RAM or processor speed or storage, so if you want a really decked-out laptop it might not be for you, but I wanted a solid lightweight laptop for writing, reading, and browsing the web, and it's perfect for that. I touch-type most of the time so the less contrasted keys (especially backlit in daytime) aren't a big issue for me, but a keyboard cover would solve this issue for someone who had a harder time adjusting. Also, bottom speakers could bother some people, but the acoustics for them are actually really good if your laptop is on a surface and otherwise I just use headphones. Only complaint is that there are no Thunderbolt ports, only USB C, but that's not a deal breaker. I really like this laptop!

Nice compact laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good. The computer has worked very well. The only issue is the keyboard is silver and very hard to see the keys in just about any lighting even with the backlit option.

Laptop for mobility, performance & build quality
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Asus Zenbook is a great laptp with mobility. It has tons of great features and packs a punch with speed for productivity. The large trackpad is nice. The feel of the keys are smooth. The shell is built with quality. The HD display is very nice w/ barely bezel. The discreet GPU Nvidia GeForce MX350 isn't the cheap integrated options some laptops offer, it's a gaming GPU which offers performance. My only drawback for this laptop per my preferences is the only 8GB RAM and cannot be upgraded (Soldered onto board) in that aspect. Otherwise a great mobility option that doesn't hog up space. Very well put together and fairly inexpensive in the $600-700 range for this model. The Intel model is $1000+, however this model gets things done, no need to drop the extra money.
