This is a great laptop. First time owning an ASUS and I have to say I absolutely love it. It has a SSD and it literally starts up in seconds. It is super simple to use if you are not a tech savvy person. The battery life is good but not as good as I had thought it was going to be. Not bad enough to take a star away though. It has a descent amount of RAM and a pretty good video card. I would recommend this laptop to anyone.

We purchased this laptop for our 8-year-old to use for distance learning. It might be a little too powerful for his needs, but we don't experience any lag during the Zoom meetings. The video seems a little bright, but I think we can adjust this in the settings. Audio is clear and easy to understand.

Overall decent notebook, not as light as expected compared to the LG Gram, but better than an HP Envy series. Runs decently and not stuffed with excessive bloatware from ASUS. Still testing all functionality, but visually very crisp and brighter than HP amd Dell ultrabook lines.

Love the sleek look and feel. Love the lightweight and speed of the laptop. But the lack of a backlight on the keyboard is killing me. I am constantly using the numbers and cannot see them without the back light. Major flaw in design.

For the price point you won't find a better all-rounder with dedicated graphics! The MX350 is slightly better than a 1050, and plays most games at decent frame rates. I wouldn't purchase this machine if you're looking to play AAA titles or the latest shooters, however. The webcam image seems decent quality and the Windows Hello login is very nice to have! The speakers are decent sounding and reasonably loud for a laptop this size.

I purchased this laptop for my son so he would have something for school. When he received it, it was simple to set up and get going. He is having a great experience with his classes because he is using this laptop. It should last him a couple of years.

What a great buy this little laptop has turned out to be. I wasn't expecting "greatness," since I already have a 17" i7 top-end laptop. But this little machine has knocked my socks off. My kids are using it constantly, and it has never even hiccupped. One of the best little laptops I have ever purchased.

Straight out of the box, this computer has been one pleasant surprise after another. The first thing I noticed was how lightweight and thin it is. I’ve purchased at least 10 notebook computers since 1996, four since 2011, and this is by far the most user-friendly form factor. Given the size and weight, I don’t hesitate to grab it and head to another room. I love that I can set the closed notebook down on a table, place my thumb under the front of the lid and, with nothing but the edge of my thumb contacting the computer, swing the lid open to the desired angle. That’s a detail I’ve previously observed only in machines costing two to three times as much, and I am very pleased to have that experience with this notebook. It made a very positive first impression. I plugged it in and turned it on. After trudging through the initial Windows setup steps, I finally got to assess the LCD display quality. It’s excellent. Colors are vibrant, and the 1920x1080 feels just right for 14”. I love the matte finish of the screen and the way it all but eliminates reflections of ambient light. This is my favorite notebook display to date. The wireless network adapter functions wonderfully and easily stays connected, delivering acceptable throughput when I get near what used to be the fringes of my WiFi coverage. I’m very pleased. This is a computer I intend to use for work, but I couldn’t resist the urge to test basic gaming. I loaded up Half-Life 2 and turned up all graphics options. It easily stayed above 60 fps, only occasionally dipping to the 50s. The results were the same with Skyrim Special Edition, TF2 and Minecraft. Like I said, I wanted to test basic gaming. The ZenBook 14 didn’t disappoint. Also of note: Temperatures stayed quite comfortable. An unintended effect of the gaming tests was that it really drove home just how fast this computer is. It’s kinda nuts! Loading screens that I used to use an excuse to go get some more coffee are now gone in a matter of seconds. It boots in about 10 seconds, and 25 seconds after that Dropbox has finished loading/syncing. Office applications load near instantly and run flawlessly. Battery life is excellent. I’ve composed this entire review while unplugged starting at “full” charge (80% using the battery saving “Balanced” setting) and am currently at 46% with estimated time remaining at 3 hr 15 min. There’s plenty of ports for my needs with an HDMI, one USB C, one USB 3.1 and one USB 2.0, in addition to a combo headphone/mic jack and a microSD slot. The Asus ZenBook 14 has set a new bar for “bang for your buck.” I couldn’t be happier with it.

    • Brand response from ASUS Answers
      Posted .

      Dear Valued Customer,

We do understand your concern about the fan noise.

It is normal for the fan to spin at full-throttle and generates noise louder than normal while the laptop, regardless the brand-name, is under heavy load, especially during the initial WINDOWS setup and WINDOWS Update installation. Also, the fan noise will be louder while antivirus software or malware are running continuously in the background.

When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle and noise will be louder than normal. It does decreases or normalizes once utilization goes down.

All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, experiencing a hardware issue within the first month of usage is a random problem.

Should you need further assistance with the product, please email me at [email protected] and I would be more than happy to help.

Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

      Regards,

      Rodel

Brought for my granddaughter who needed a laptop for her cyber security classwork at home. She was able to download the required program with no problems. She told me that the laptop is working great and meets her needs. I assume it will last for the rest of her high school years and into college. Good but, excellent customer service at store.
