Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the lightweight, price, battery life, and performance of the Zenbook 14" Laptop. They appreciate its portability, affordability, long battery life, and ability to handle daily tasks and simple gaming. However, customers are negative about the keyboard, fan noise, soldered RAM, heating issues, and key visibility. They find the keyboard difficult to use due to poor backlighting and faint print, and express concerns about the laptop's cooling and RAM expandability.

I love the compact design of this laptop. The display is wide and the hinges are basically invisible. The performance is great, and is fairly light in its weight. I was recommended this laptop by an IT friend and also the BestBuy employee who helped me. Would recommend for anyone who doesn't want to mess around with the 2 in 1 laptops, and wants the speed of a good processesor.

Don't let the MX350 deceive you! Bad laptop.

I took a look at this laptop on my YouTube channel and I can't recommend this device for a number of reasons. - When the lid is open, the laptop is lifted onto two small rubber feet which make the laptop very slidey on tables. - The laptop's GPU is severely limited in power consumption due to the hinge design. The LCD needs to stay at or below 50C, which results in the GPU and CPU throttling hard if you're attempting to utilize the MX350 what-so-ever. - The keyboard is impossible to see in various real-world lighting scenarios and you almost always need the kb backlight on whcih reduces battery life significantly. - Accessing the SSD and wifi card through the bottom panel is nearly impossible without using a sharp tool because the rubber feet conceal two screws. - The display bezel began to peel near the air vent on my Zenbook 14 within just two weeks of usage. - The trackpad isn't aligned with the spacebar, and due to its size you can accidentally click on the trackpad at random while typing. This is incredibly frustrating, to say the least. - You can't charge via USB-C. They never claimed you could, but this still sucks to not have on a device of this caliber. - The chrome accent along the top of the keyboard deck is warped and has ripples on every Zenbook 14 I've seen. It looks cheap and really shouldn't be on the laptop. - This laptop doesn't support proper S3 sleep. This results in significant power consumption while asleep for the first 5 to 10 minutes. After this, the device simply hibernates/shuts down and will restore when power starts. Overall this Zenbook 14 just isn't a good buy unless you only plan on doing basic browsing and office tasks with it, which if you're going to do that I'd recommend getting something that doesn't have a dedicated graphics card because that's just pointless for that workload.

      Dear CodeHusky,

Do understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused you if the laptop didn't meet your expectations.

On the contrary, lots of satisfied customers, having positive experience using the product, will agree with me that the unit is a decent system that is perfect for running popular computing applications, without compromising system stability and performance.

The laptop does have rubber feet in order to prevent it from sliding from a glass or smooth surface.

The keyboard backlit can be turn off while working on a well-illuminated workspace, it doesn't have to be lighted up every time.

We don't recommended opening the laptop if you are not computer or hardware savvy. Opening and accessing the internal parts may caused damage especially static-sensitive parts or components.

All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, and are built to last.

Got it because my surface was starting to operate less efficiently after a year of constant use (I teach, so lots of zooming.) I know this isn’t considered a high end laptop, but still...for the price, I must say I had higher hopes. The camera is pretty rough. My zoom image is always blurry, and can sometimes become very laggy. Overall, there’s nothing wrong, it just feels like you’re using an older laptop, no bells or whistles. If you’re needing it for video use, I’d pass. If you just need a plain, no fuss computer, you may like it.

    Fast But Not Well Integrated

This is a super fast laptop, though I do not understand why it has discrete GPU as the Ryzen integrated GPU is nearly as fast. I've seen this point before, why it is that they put their money into this instead of a better fan and a little more power for the CPU - overall performance would seem to be even faster with that choice. The other issue I experienced was that we had some blue screen occasions - I'd not seen the blue screen of death for so many years, but multiple times in one day with this one. There must have been some driver compatibility issue. And the display - it's pretty dull, they also saved too much money on this to make a nice laptop. Price was great, but it's not worth it.

So far it's good. I have not had any issues yet, but there seems to be issues with the audio and fans on this model. Keep an eye out for that and keep an eye on your return period in case you need to return it.

This laptop is kinda like a baby gaming laptop, with the mx350, it's not a high end card or even a gtx1650, but it works well with some higher games. Played no man's sky, lotro, and ESO, as well as gtav. All work well. Memory isn't upgradable but storage is, I have a 1tb drive in it as well as a 500gb in an external carrier for when I'm home
