    has sleep mode software problem my brother like it but it has this problem he was able to update the software from the original company website and it was fixed.

    It all looked good at the store but when I opened it up at home there was way too much white noise that could be heard in the next room. When I tried to find a fix for it on the ASUS site there was no answer for the problem. So I returned it the next day for an other one, but found out it had the same problem. I had ASUS for years and never had a problem with them until now. They dropped the ball on this one. I opted out for a Samsung witch I am happy with,

    Bought the notebook for my 15 yr old daughter. She seems to like it. Only giving 3 stars because the keys are difficult to see.

    Returned this computer. The letters and numbers are grey on grey computer keys. Therefore, you can't see the letters and numbers and I can type. I'm not a hunt and peck person. All my other computers have white letters on black keys. We immediately returned the computer.

    Considering I buy a few laptops a year, I am particular on the speed and consistency of the machines I buy. First thoughts of this laptop are extremely positive as for the price that this is offered, it will be hard to beat. I am usually partial to the competitor processor buyer at the I7 level (at least) but this laptop has made me think twice about AMD and its Ryzen brand. This machine easily boots up as fast as some of my competitor processors and honestly, I believe it is faster. It handles multitasking extremely well and even with 8 open browser windows, the fan was at a negligible level. Unboxing and setup was very straightforward and the visual look and feel of the computer is premium. I am still not sure if the chassis is a metal composite or plastic but either way, it feels both lightweight and premium. Opening and closing the laptop reveals no squeaks and has a sturdy demeanor. The screen has a matte like finish and the HD screen is superb. Connecting to various media sources at home with all my subscriptions was positive without any buffering. Sound is as to be expected from any laptop although after tweaking the settings it was noticeably better. Processing, screen, multitasking....all great. I have just a few "negatives" that warrant mentioning...first is the keyboard. Computer manufacturers need to realize that not everyone types without looking at the keyboard. While many of us do, having a grey base chassis with grey keys with silver markings is, well, curious. My second critique is regarding the charging port. I simply do not understand why any manufacturer, including the fruit, would not adopt the latest in charging a device - USB at the latest version. Another "charging cable" is, well, antiquated. Overall, I recommend this for a mid range capable product with just a few upgrades needed.

    This was to pricy. Should be around 400 not over 800 after taxes don’t recommend. If anything waist a little more for better lap top

    An Ultrabook but not an Ultrabook

    This Asus Zenbook is an amazing laptop. For $700 I am surprised by all the technology that has been included. Its more expensive brother has a 4K screen and faster internals (and a few more other quirks). However when you take into account all the features they share you’ll be surprised by the deal you’re getting. Typically an ultrabook goes for above $1000. You’ll get a fast, lightweight and thin machine. However you get that right here. The laptop also feels sturdy as well and sometimes in other higher end ultrabook models you loose that. For starters you get face unlock. It even works from an angle so even if you’re not directly in front of the device it will still unlock. You get faster boot times with the SSD. Usually laptops at this price range come with HDDs and usually you’ll have to pay double - or almost double for an SSD. So for a medium priced laptop you’re able to turn your computer on and resume where you left off, in a second or so, and this is quite remarkable. One thing to note is that when you open the lid you still have to press the power button. Typically this is not the case with the more expensive unltrabooks. It does however auto power off when the lid is closed. Even though the directions mentioned the laptop should be fully charged I neglected reading the documentation until after several uses. It has been nearly a week since I’ve had it and the charge is still above 50%. The battery does indeed last awhile. One minor inconvenience I find is that the screen doesn’t get that dim. So it will definitely add to eye fatigue during night uses. Speakers to me are loud. I wouldn’t expect at this price-point you could get a laptop that wouldn’t need external speakers. So to summarize, for the price you get all the ultrabook features but without the ultrabook cost. You get features like a backlit keyboard, bluetooth and many other features that typically years ago you would be paying more. But now, all you loose is a little bit of processor speed and a 4k screen that most people can probably go without.

    Decent mid range laptop with a couple issues. The screen is vibrant and the full HD looks really good. It gets plenty bright and just dim enough so I’m happy with that. The processing speed with the Ryzen 5 compares equally to its Intel match the core i5. I didn’t run any benchmarks to test but have similar laptops with core i5’s that I can tell run just as well. This could use 12 or 16gb of ram instead of the 8 it comes with. Windows and chrome is so heavy on the ram that it can easily slow the laptop down. The big issue with this laptop is not the processing components, That all runs fine. It’s the back light to the keyboard in combination with the color the keys and letters are painted. Too little contrast between the keys and the letters make them impossible to read unless you are directly under a bright light. Nice light and very compact, easy to carry around. This has a usb C port But you can not charge the laptop with this port unfortunately, and its also not thunderbolt 3 which would have been a huge plus. Like I said this is a Decent budget or midrange laptop with the keyboard issues and the lack of more ram which I don’t believe is upgradable.

    Wifi is dead after around one month. Troubleshooting it with Windows or MyAsus doesn't help. On/off button is in the wrong place, so it's easy to click it instead of Delete button. Letter on keyboard are super tiny and barely visible under angle, backlit helps but not enough. All the other things are great in this slim laptop.
