Posted .Dear Joycelin,
Thank you for writing a comment for the Chromebook.
We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if the laptop will auto-shutdown. In order to prevent this from occurring, if running with the battery only, please check if the battery has an ample amount of charged life. Also, please do not run any power-hungry software or application. Running these applications will cause auto-shutdown when battery life is running low. The Chromebook may go into hibernate mode when idle for a long time, pressing and holding down the power button will usually wake it up. In regards to the camera and microphone, please verify under Settings if the correct devices were enabled.

Sound Laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is really mostly from my daughter who needed a new laptop. The system turned out to be relatively faster than what I expected. It handles all her school work (as well as NETFLIX running lol ) just fine. The size, while a tad small for my liking, really was a top high point for her. She had a bulkier laptop in the past and she really loves the compact size of this one. She been using it daily since we've gotten it and it hasn't given an ounce of trouble as of yet. 2 thumbs up... :)

Great laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this laptop for over 3 years. It is one of the best ones I’ve owned. I bought it for a remote job and it held up for the duration of my employment which was over a year and now I just use it for my personal use. It’s also has a very sleek design.

Portable and fast - Great Value!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had a great experience so far with this laptop. It's light and thin, and doesn't sacrifice the USB-A port like other ultra portable laptops (I need a USB-A port for work). I have been using this laptop heavily working from home everyday, and have been nothing but satisfied. Pros: -Set up was simple with the help of Cortana. Seamless integration with other Microsoft offerings. -The screen is nearly borderless, due to the way the screen opens, hiding the bottom bezel. More than enough screen space to work with documents and photos, or watch a quick show (not on work time of course). -Light and thin -Full range of ports, including USB-A and SD card slot -Fast. Boot up is instant and I haven't noticed a lot of developer programs running in the background. My first experience with an AMD processor, and I am impressed. -NVIDIA graphics card makes streaming content look great. Watched scenes from Avengers Infinity War on Netflix and there was minimal fast motion blur. -Great battery life. Used for 5-6 hours straight on the battery and still had about 40% battery life left. -Back lit keyboard makes it easy to use in the dark -Temperature stays pretty cool. -Great camera for Zoom meetings. Cons: -I'm for the most part satisfied with the display, but there are times when bright colors on some images look a little washed out. -The built in speakers are not great. Not a big deal for me since I use bluetooth headphones most of the time. But if you rely on your laptop speakers, something to consider. -Had trouble connecting my bluetooth headphones at first (only connected for "voice" and not "audio"). After about an hour of racking my brain searching for a solution, I saw an ASUS notice about an update that fixes bluetooth issues. After updating, I haven't had any problems. -The backlit keyboard is great in light and dark settings. But the keys are difficult to see in dimly lit settings, such as a dark room with natural light from a window. -The AMD sticker on the laptop was difficult to remove. Once I got it off, it left a sticky residue that took me a bit to get off. Have some goo remover handy! -While it's not a bad looking laptop, it doesn't really stand out. The inside brushed stainless steel finish looks great, but the outside just kind of looks plasticy. Overall, a great laptop for the price. I use it mainly for work and streaming content, and it has been more than up to the task. Highly recommended!

Solid laptop for college
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm in no way knowledgeable about laptops but hopefully, this will be helpful to someone! I'm a college student so I'm constantly on my computer doing classes and schoolwork, especially with online learning. This baby lasts a while! She holds a good charge with all of my tabs and programs open while I'm working on things. Also works well with running things like Zoom and Discord. The mic isn't bad either, I haven't gotten any complaints thus far and I've had this laptop for months. It's also very light and small so it's easy to carry around and fit into bags! I also quite frequently play games such as Minecraft and Among Us and they run perfectly. However, bigger games on Steam like Skyrim do not run the best on here. I am an avid Netflix and movie-watcher and there is an occasional hiccup in the audio that I will warn against. It's not that big of a problem though, it doesn't really bother me.

Decent Basic Laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great little basic laptop to do what most people use a computer for these days: internet surfing, word processing/Office use, and video streaming. * I've been playing Sims 4 on this computer since I got it, and the colors seem a bit washed out and not as crisp as other computers I've tried it on, same with video streaming (though this is a little less annoying as when playing video games, at least for me). * The battery life seems great, except when playing games (I went through an entire, fully charged battery in less than 2 hours the first time I played the Sims 4 on it!), but when doing other activities on it, it seems to hold up great! * The sound is clear and crisp, but even at full volume, it is very, very quiet. I tried one of my weekly Zoom calls with this computer and I could barely hear the person on the other end at full volume, using the same settings and in the same location with the same ambient noises that I use when I make these calls with another computer. * At this price point, I would expect a better screen and color saturation (though for what it bothers me for - gaming - I would be using a better laptop anyway). * Also - the face ID is awesome, and works well, even in the dark! You do need to make sure that you set it up with your glasses on and off, though, if you wear them, because unlike the iPhone Face ID, it can't tell who you are if you're wearing glasses vs not wearing glasses if you don't! (I learned this the hard way haha)

Disappointed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I regret it has taken me so long to write this review. I keep working with my Asus hoping things would get easier for me but it is not happening. Simply put I do not get along with this laptop. My familiarity with laptops has been limited to my Surface and Surface Pro and I perhaps expected the Asus to be as friendly to this old man's fingers. I started with my MS login which then have me access to my MS apps and cloud. But when I began to use Outlook, Excel, and Word — the apps I use most frequently — I found the keystrokes and (especially) the touch pad difficult to use. The touch pad is particularly challenging in that I generally could not get the cursor to land and stop where I wanted it to. And when it did stop, it seemed to develop an AI mind and determine what to do quite on its own. It would take off when I tried to pin it down, it would perform simply functions without any input from me. This became seriously threatening when I tried to use my Quicken software. Consequently I have not yet been able to determine what I might do with apps and Asus laptop capabilities. I plan to continue and try to befriend the Asus and if I find reasons to submit a more positive review I will do so.

Posted .Dear Costi42,
Certainly understand your concern regarding the issue with the touchpad.
It is a smart device, please allow some time to get use to the multi-touch function of the pad. In order to improve the touchpad responsiveness and stability, please install all recommended WINDOWS Update.
If you are accessing web applications, please verify if the laptop has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since this will affect the responsiveness of the touchpad.
Should you need further assistance, please email me at [email protected] and I will be more than glad to help. Or, you can speak to an ASUS live support agent at http://bit.ly/AsusLiveChat.

Incredible compared to the more expensive ASUS'
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was such a good laptop! I returned to upgrade to the zenbook 13.3" 2 in 1 that almost cost double more & better specs supposedly (16gb ram, 512 ssd, 2.8 ghz, i7 intel core) but HONESTLY this laptop kind of out performed my new one. This laptop did not heat up when I had multiple tabs opened and multiple videos playing; perhaps this is because of the dedicated graphics card instead of the integrated one that I have in my new laptop. I'm actually considering if I made the wrong decision to return this laptop because of the overheating issues in my new ASUS.. If the overheating continues, I might consider rebuying this laptop instead as it works beautifully and isn't loud/doesn't overheat. My only complaint about this laptop is the backlit keyboard as I cannot read the keys with the lighting that is supplied by the laptop. Would say theere is much to be desired there. But other than that, this laptop is perfect although I wish there was a touchscreen or 2-in-1" option.

A great purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally purchased two HP Chromebooks a week ago. Didn't realize external rom drives wouldn't work with them, etc. so though they were nice, I exchanged them for the ASUS. I have an ASUS laptop, 17" that is 9 years old and showing its age, etc. I have had this Zenbook two days and so far am VERY impressed. I like the Face ID feature when it comes on and after being on standby. So far, I have used it off the charger on a full batter to start since yesterday, and have turned it off at night. It has been on for 5 hours straight and battery is just now at 39% and 4 hours and 40 minutes charge left. I'm impressed. Will charge it once I am home this evening. I do recommend getting the 3 year service protection and the Webroot virus protection and at least 1 year of Geek Squad support. It's all worth it.

Small, powerful, just what I needed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had it for a couple months now, it's really good, pretty powerful although very small. Because it is so thin and small it generates a lot of heat, resulting in the bottom being hot enough to possibly cook on. It can handle quite a lot of games on mid to high settings, note that if you play for too long it will shut down due to high heat. Only wish it had more storage on it, 256gb won't allow you to hold many games. All in all, with the small size and power, it's perfect for school and light gaming. I'd recommend getting it while its on sale tho.
