Probably *overall* the best laptop I've ever owned

I tend to write really extensive reviews, but this time I feel like I can say all I need to say more concisely.
I have owned literally dozens of laptops in my lifetime. I buy and sell/trade-in frequently because I like to stay on top of current tech, especially since I tend to do a lot of media production work.
This laptop might be all around one of the best value packages I have ever seen, and definitely one of the most capable laptops for creative work that DOESN'T have a dedicated GPU I have used.
The processor/memory combination for this price point (especially if you nab it on sale for $799 or even the $699 I've seen it drop to occasionally) is absolutely nuts. Coupled with the simply stunning and color-accurate 16:10 OLED screen (with touch and pen support if needed, no less), large and very usable trackpad (with the cool number pad feature that I've only seen ASUS implement), and the really comfortable keyboard with very nice key travel and response feel, it's simply a joy to do work on this thing.
Also, I see laptops all the time tout their Harmon/Kardon sound but this time - WOW - the speakers on this machine have some of the fullest, deepest bass and overall clarity I've ever heard from a laptop. This laptop has far better audio than even the MacBook Pro I was assigned from work, which previously was the best sounding laptop I had ever used.
Everything is speedy even on power conservation modes, I like how the screen automatically drops to 60hz when unplugged to conserve battery, helping the battery life stretch to about 8-ish hours when off charger even when doing a decently sized workload (which more than works for me because it charges quickly).
The only real negatives I can say about this machine are that it unfortunately doesn't have an SD/microSD card reader (a bummer for me because I now need a dongle to import photos directly from my DSLR), no fingerprint sensor (which I rarely used anyway but still is a nice option for some people I know) and that it's a HUGE fingerprint magnet. I do a fair amount of eating while I'm working, so I tend to leave my laptop looking like a greasy mess. But, I suppose, that's on me. The fan also gets a little loud when it's on heavy load in performance mode, but that's to be expected and it does sufficiently keep the machine cool and from throttling.
Overall this is certainly one of if not the best laptops I've ever owned.

I needed a laptop for college but couldn't get a MacBook because my major is IT (plus I hate MacOS). So I did extensive research and ended up buying this one. I was really hoping it would treat me well because I needed a laptop with incredible responsiveness, versatility, and overall performance. This laptop has been treating me right for the past 3 weeks. I sit through 3 hour lectures and the battery is barely half used. I never hear the fan, even when I open numerous tabs and switch between windows. The screen is shiny and does have a glare, but it isn't noticeable (of course only if you are outside and the sun is shining on it). My laptop has 16GB Memory and 512 GB SSD, with the i7. This is very suitable for a college student and I feel comfortable knowing I am just fine with my storage space. The keys are quiet, the laptop itself is not heavy, and the overall design is very nice. It does have a touch screen which is very quick to respond and has no lag. The calculator feature on the touchpad comes in handy when I'm doing math work. The sound quality is amazing as well. I'm happy to say that there is nothing that makes second second-guess my decision to buy this laptop. I definitely recommend this.

Biggest bang for the buck for non gamers. I highly recommend it it to anyone with office/work/school needs. At $699 (on sale for the 16gb model). It’s about as good as you can get in terms of processor (core i7/16gb) plus the gorgeous oled 120hz screen.
Touch Screen can be a little glossy but I’ve gotten used to it.
Speakers are excellent also. I got another one at $799 for myself and when I saw it go down to $699 I picked up another one for my kids.
Battery life is good (for windows pc). Around 6-6.5 hours real time usage. Real time is what it is. My own usage. It’s not MacBook m1/m2 battery life I get with my mba which can get 9.5 hours but it’s not bad
It can run a little hot. That’s because intel processors run hot.
You can upgrade the SSD as well. The ram is not upgradable. But this laptop will serve any college student well for the next 4 years.
Construction is high quality. Heavier 3.3 pounds. But it’s solid. Does not use cheap plastic.
Keyboard is excellent. Easy to type on and well spaced out.
Highly recommend if you can get it at $699 sales price.

This computer is exceptional, and I'm glad I didn't get the M2 MacBook Air! For less money , I got a bigger SSD, more RAM and arguably a better processor in the 13th generation Intel. You could've gotten this thing on sale for $699 from Best Buy at one point and I'm so happy with this computer that I'm not even upset I paid full price.
I was a little concerned about the graphics card not being able to handle 4K video editing (I don't do super heavy video editing, but heavy enough) but so far, this thing runs Adobe Premiere like a champ! It eats eats every task and asks for more! If I need power, I just switch to performance mode, but I'm always in battery mode because the processor is so good that it rips through the majority of the work I need it to do with Word, Excel and Edge with no problem on that setting; and it extends the battery life which is great at that setting but can drain quickly if you have the OLED set at maximum brightness.
Some people said the screen is too reflective, but I've yet to encounter that problem and I don't work on my computer outside. If you're on the fence about getting this computer, just buy it. It's not to heavy!

A very good laptop to begin with. Top of the line processor(intel series H), Vibrant 2K display which is OLED and has a refresh rate of 120hz and a sleek all metal design make this an absolute bang for the buck!
Have been using this for the past 2 weeks and have experienced no issues so far. Only downside would be a presence of only one USB-A but that's alright considering it has 2 thunderbolt ports(Yes, it charges using USB-C!). Battery life is pretty good, easily runs for 5-6 hrs on moderate - heavy usage.
I do recommend it to students for school work and working professionals.

Excellent light machine and I use it alternatively from my MacBook M4 Pro when travelling. Its competitive with the Mac. The Intel Evo Core Ultra 7H is fast and far more than adequate for my daily driving needs such as teaching, conferencing, using Office 365 and for videos including YouTube. The OLED screen is vividly brilliant and I don't need to have a 120-megahertz refresh rate. because I'm not a gamer.
I find that the boon of this machine really is its lightness at about 2.7 lbs, it's so easy to just slip into the bag and carry it. Battery life is very good. It feels and looks expensive.
I recommend this machine wholeheartedly. You won't be disappointed.

This machine takes care of my college needs with ease. The display is gorgeous, sharp and accurate. Intel 13 gen i7-13700 glides through everyday task effortlessly. If you keep settings to 'whisper mode' battery lasts more than 8 hours on single charge. Light gaming in medium settings gives respectable fps'. Just swap the existing ssd with high speedgen 4 and you are good for atleast 5 years. Build quality is nice too, however not completely cnc aluminum but insides have injection moulding plastic to support internals, lids and back cover are metal.

Asus Zenbook 14X is one of the best laptops for the price. The Oled screen is just stunning with a 120Hz refresh rate. The keyboard clicks are satisfying with the smooth usage. Trackpad has a two in one functionality to use it as a mouse trackpad and the num pad. This is equipped with Intel evo certification and it lives upto the mark. The speakers give really good sound quality. Performance wise its a really good one for the pricing. The battery life is actually best for the performance.

ASUS has made a fantastic machine here-- great specs, fast, well-built, low fan noise (with normal operation), and an outstanding OLED screen. Coming from a MacBook Pro M1 14" with a need for a Windows PC, this feels like a worthy alternative. My only gripe, and this is a personal matter of taste, is that the screen is VERY reflective-- quite a bit more than a Mac. Since I need to work outdoors at times, I may need to return it and search for a less reflective option. That being said, if you mostly work indoors with cooperative back lighting and are looking for a well-rounded and high quality general use laptop, this Zenbook 14.5" is a winner.

It been 2 months of using this laptop, as college student studying computer science. I have to say this laptop is absolutely perfect windows machine, its comfortable, quick, handles many processes and task at one time! Looks Great, its display is amazing, nothing else comes this good with out being triple the cost. Its battery is perfect never feel pressured to to keep my charging cable in at all times like other laptops. After passing my semester with flying colors thanks to this laptop literally. I got out my car and my laptop fell out bag, and I practically died of tears. Cause it hit concreate, shockingly its gorgeous OLED screen didn't crack, but unfortunately multiple edges of the laptop got some scratches and some chips. I would say it has nice durability too.

Let me preface this by saying I love Asus products. I bought this as a general use PC for sitting around the house, and it was intended to replace an Asus Zenbook 13 which I loved because of the great battery life but wanted a bit more screen space and memory. This model made a poor replacement, unfortunately. Not that it's a bad laptop, but there are some really sticking points.
First, the bad. This PC runs really hot when under load. Hot enough to concern yourself with avoiding prolonged contact with certain heat zones. When I was just streaming a game, which uses very little CPU, I had the fan running full bore and still had a lot of surface heat. The processor stays within safe levels for the hardware, but when a computer runs that hot there is definitely some thermal throttling going on (your PC slows down to cool off). Running the PC in silent mode is probably not wise, as the processor gets even hotter with no active cooling. Battery life is also not great considering the class of computer the Zenbook is. Usually lightweight sleek PCs aim for efficiency, where this seems to fail. Even in battery saver mode and with minimal processor load I was seeing six or less hours. Far less than the all day battery life that is claimed. This may be addressed in a BIOS update, but don't count on it.
The Good:
The screen is amazing. Colors are true to life and tweaking with the settings only improves an outstanding image. The high refresh rate of the screen is only useful when plugged in, since higher refresh rates kill batteries and the default setting lowers the rate when on battery. The sound is really impressive. Big, well rounded, sound is enabled through Dolby Atmos, and it does not fall to impress. The keyboard and mousepad are above average, but I found it a little too easy to accidently graze the trackpad when typing. The computer is reasonably fast as long as you aren't doing sustained loads.

I had a 13 inch ultrabook before this, but this laptop is simply better in every way. It's better than every other 14 inch in its class in fact. There's really no reason to get an XPS 15 over this. Or a Lenovo Slim or Yoga... or an HP Dragonfly. This laptop should really go for $1500, but I got in on sale for $700 which is ludicrous.
Anyway, you're getting an H-series processor with this which already puts it in its own league. A 2.8k OLED screen. Seriously, the OLED is amazing, and Dell charges a ton of money to upgrade to that. The battery life is also pretty solid. Really happy with this machine overall. Nice work Asus.

I'll start off by saying, I spend most of my time using a gaming pc. I developed a need for a new laptop while consolidating three devices (a gaming laptop, a Microsoft Surface, and an iPad Pro) as I didn't have a need for all of them with my gaming desktop at play. I wanted something that had a 120Hz or better screen, touchscreen, 16GB of RAM and was 14-16 inches wide. I looked at several laptops, and finally decided on this one after weeks of trying out different ones.
This laptop has many things going for it!
-BEAUTIFUL 2.8K, 120Hz touchscreen (far superior to the MacBook Air in this price-point)
-Fast i7-13700H processor
-Comfortable backlit keyboard
-Responsive touchpad
Is this a gaming laptop replacement? No way. Is it a fantastic multi-use laptop? Absolutely.
