Portable & sleek
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the flip screen & it has plenty of ports. If you’re trying to decide between this laptop & the “gaming” laptop then I recommend this one. It’s sleek & doesn’t look like a little kids’ laptop but can still game as well. I bought an adapter so that one of the USB ports can become multiple extra ports of all kinds if necessary but haven’t even needed it.

Exceptional Laptop!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Of course, the very first thing to consider when determining the value of a product is whether or not it does what it is supposed to do. In this case, ASUS went so far above and beyond the mere functionality of this laptop that if I was able to rate it any higher, I most certainly would. As I opened the box, I was greeted with a "pop-up" design in which the laptop was actually raised out of its box, much like one of those pop-up story books. It may be a small thing, but it goes a very long way in demonstrating how committed ASUS is in making a purchase of one of its products more than just a financial transaction...they are committed to making it a memorable experience. After removing the laptop from its box, I was intrigued by its somewhat hefty but balanced weight. ASUS absolutely did not scrimp in the build of this machine. The case is a beautiful dark colored aluminum and is meant to protect. Everything looks and feels perfectly aligned. To say it is "heavy duty" doesn't really do it justice. The very first thing my friends remark on is the look and feel, the obvious quality. The setup procedure was straightforward. The operating system is Windows 10. The setup gives you several options to choose from, including the ability to utilize the facial recognition function for signing in. I might add that this function didn't appear to affect the performance at all. After setup, it was time to test it out. I do a lot of video editing, and other resource intensive applications, so I was a bit concerned how it was going to perform, especially with this new upgraded version of Windows 10. Now, I did not load and use only one application at a time, I made sure I had several applications running at the same time. I did my very best to stretch the ASUS to its limits. I have to admit I was very pleasantly surprised when not once did the laptop show any signs of lagging or buffering. It maintained smooth and fast operating speeds at all times, even during some rather intense video rendering. I honestly couldn't believe how well it performed. Since the main purpose of this computer is to run all my business programs, that is where my focus was. I know this is perfectly capable of excelling in the online gaming category, but I didn't really put it to the test in this regard. But if the outstanding performance in the multi-tasking tests I put it through with the memory and resource intensive programs I was using is any indication of how well it would perform in the online gaming arena, then it would do exceptionally well. PROS: The design and build of the product The outstanding inventory of top-notch components The display is clear, crisp, vivid, and at times downright stunning The constant high speed and performance, even under pressure of several active applications. CONS: Yes, there are a couple of things I noticed that I wasn't very excited about. The first is the sound volume. Don't get me wrong, the sound itself is very good, but the top volume of the included speakers is very disappointing. In an active environment, it would be difficult to hear. The second thing I noticed is that when it is in flip mode, and in the portrait position, if you happen to be holding it with the On/Off switch to the bottom and you sit it down on a table top or other hard surface, it will turn off. You have to actually turn it 180 degrees and use it that way. The third is in the layout of the keyboard. The number keypad is quite abbreviated, and does not include the "normal" right-most Enter key. I find myself reaching for it quite often and its a bit frustrating, but its all about the learning curve. In spite of those three very minor inconveniences, this is a top-of-the-line laptop and is worthy of much more than a five-star rating. It is so superior in so many ways that in my opinion, it is the benchmark of convertible laptops. I would in every way HIGHLY RECOMMEND this ASUS laptop to anyone and everyone, especially considering its extremely affordable price point. Seriously, do yourself a huge favor, and get on down to Best Buy and get one. Seriously!

Misses the Mark
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ZenBook Flip 15 Q528EH is powerful, but at the same time, it feels like it's missing something. You're getting a lot of power but at what cost? From the box, the ZenBook Flip 15 is very sleek. The gray color is nice. It opens and shuts with ease. And the power brick is low-profile and can fit in any kind of space. I like the amount of SSD space. I feel as though 512GB is pretty standard these days. Even the 16GB of RAM is a must-have for many applications, so this laptop scores another checkmark. Make no mistake; this laptop is super fast. When it comes to graphical capabilities, being equipped with a GTX1650 Max-Q is par. Could it have been tuned up with what many applications and games ask for today? Sure. But it gets the job done. Out-of-the-box, you'll get a standard performance with all of these specs. And here is where things go bad. Now, I can't ding it too bad for this, since it's a laptop, but the ZenBook Flip 15 gets hot. Super hot. I'm saying it really feels like it's burning you. I'd definitely avoid placing this laptop anywhere on your lap. Instead, I recommend investing in a cooling pad. The display is sub-par. I've seen it many times before—the built-in display is often neglected in terms of putting qualitiy into the unit, and this one is no exception. Colors aren't popping out the way I expect, It's got a 60Hz refresh rate, but it doesn't feel like it. But hey; at least it has one. I wanted to try playing a game with my wife, so we got out a mouse and headset for the laptop. And that's where the problem instantly started. The ZenBook Flip 15 has a SINGLE USB-A port. I've never seen that. It was rather frustrating, as I feel at least two ports is practically standard with any motherboard. Not here, apparently. We were at least able to use the headphone jack to connect some earbuds and play that way. Of course this can be circumvented with a USB hub or USB-C adapter, but out-of-the-box, this was upsetting, as many devices today still use USB-A. I'm disappointed here, as I've had a good experience with ASUS in the past. This isn't a bad laptop, but it's not a good one either. It wasn't quite as versatile as I expected it to be. It may miss the mark for some people, or it may be just fine for those not asking for much beyond speed. Make sure to look around a little more before considering if the ZenBook Flip 15 Q528EH is the best choice.

Good value, poor graphics card/weight/speakers
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you fancy yourself a "light" gamer, it better be truly light. The 1650 only gets it done if you kill the graphics quality in the game. Also the weight is extreme. The speakers are clumsily placed forwards. The only person that will value the speakers are the people who solely use standard laptop view or someone who insists on watching things with tent mode. Pros: The hardware they give you for the price: if you caught this thing on sale*.
