I had this computer for approximately 8 months it crashed and I wasn't able to save it. The geek squad was not helpful at all. Before that it worked well. There may be a bad machine from time to time but with only 8 months of ownership I don't feel Best Buy or ASUS stood behind there product.

      Dear LHStock,

We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused.

All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, this is a random problem. Normally, ASUS provides one year warranty coverage, if product was purchased brand-new, in order to fix or repair any hardware or part that stop working prematurely under normal usage. To resolve the issue, please check if Windows is up to date. If the OS is up to date, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. If this is not pre-installed on the laptop, please download the application at the Microsoft Store. For details on how to use "My ASUS", please go to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1041686/. If problem persisted, please boot up in Safe Mode and do a System Restore, please do the following:

      1. Click the Windows-button → Power.

      2. Hold down the shift key and click Restart.

      3. Click the option Troubleshoot and then Advanced options.

      4. Go to “Advanced options” and click Start-up Settings.

      5. Under “Start-up Settings” click Restart.

      6. Various boot options are displayed. ...

      7. Windows 10 starts in Safe Mode.

Once in Safe mode do a System Restore in order to revert the system to the last known configuration. If this didn't work, boot up again in Safe mode and do a System Recovery.

According to specs should be fine for heavy video editing, but not up to the task. In addition, it is not upgradeable in either memory or storage (except external SD of course). Due to limitations, returned to BB

Love the laptop but only a few months old and already quit working. I'm sure it is under warranty and all will be well, just a pain. Overall love it, would be 5 stars if not for the issue already.

      Dear Valued Customer,

It's unfortunate to hear that the computer quit working. This is absolutely not the kind of experience we want any of our customers to have. Our standard manufacturer warranty for new units is 12 months, while open box/ refurbished units are for 3 months. If you wish to have this issue resolved, feel free to reach out to me at customerloyalty@asus.com and provide this link for reference. I'll do my best to provide a quick resolution to your case. Your feedback is important as it helps with improvements to ASUS Support channels.

    A win on the flip

I’ve had a few weeks to experience the ASUS ZenBook Flip 15, overall I like it and the features. The flip screen function which turns this into a tablet is well thought out. The build quality has tight hinges but not too tight to operate single handed. It holds firm in every orientation. I also like the Ergolift system, whereby the keyboard is lifted when the screen is angled. The screen is sharp however there is a little glare problem in bright light, I find the trade off acceptable, just close the shades. Working outdoors is a challenge but I’ll put up with it for that amount of time that actually happens. Sound quality is great thanks to Harmon Kardon Speakers, it is not a theatre grade sound but for a laptop, it is all I need. The touch screen is a win, why any laptop does not have a touch screen is absurd. The stylus pen is a great addition, use it, you’ll like it. But, alas, no on board storage so it generally gets left behind, another question, why would you not create a storage port on such a large machine. While I’m on the topic, thankfully they have taken advantage of the size and included more than just a USB C connection. Again, there is no storage for a universal connector so I have often found myself without one. Thankfully they have also included a backlight keyboard, again, why wouldn’t you. Battery consumption may be affected but there are outlets everywhere nowadays and portable batteries. Overall I have found they MYASUS system to be useful in monitoring battery usage and the system itself for diagnostics and setup. This unit is powered by a 10th generation Intel Core processor, GeForce graphics, I’m not gonna bore you with more tech dribble other than to say it is fast and can handle what you throw at it, gamer or no. Because of the features, build and price I would definitely recommend this unit.

Out of the box this is a really nice computer! This is my first experience with Asus and so far, so good! It is a sturdy, slightly heavy laptop/tablet with a really nice black/dark grey coloring. It comes with a quick start guide that only tells you to charge it, open it, and turn it off! I found a user guide (wonderful tool) in the ZenBook Flip icon that I found helpful learning about this computer. Teaches you about the Task view, Snap feature and some helpful keyboard shortcuts! It helped identify the right and left views of the computer and what they are for. This computer comes with the i7/11th Gen processor, only 16 GB of memory, decent size hard drive @ 512GB, nice gaming graphics card, Harman Kardin speakers and a very nice display/screen resolution. You can also set up Windows 10 with face recognition when signing in – I opted not to do that. With that being said, I wish it had more memory as I’m worried it may become sluggish with too many Apps open – so far it seems ok. The speakers are good, not excellent for watching movies and getting great sound, but for Zoom etc., it seems good. I’m not a gamer so I can’t comment on this, but my son said it works nicely for his gaming entertainment. I/we are really pleased with the screen resolution even when we have it dimmed at night. He has also used the headphone port and says it works really well too. The microphone works really well and I am very pleased with the camera quality. Great size for the touchpad and instructions found in the user guide help 1st time users maneuver scrolling, gestures, dragging, and swiping. Upon start up you can have Asus walk you through a set up or go back to it when you are ready. The battery life has been very good and I’ve changed some of the settings to give me more battery life. The keyboard is backlit which I personally love, and the set up and key touch is great! I am a big fan of the side numeric keyboard and it seems to fit nicely on the keypad. It takes some getting used to it if you are not a big user of this type of keyboard – my college son doesn’t like it and prefers the regular keyboard. The side fans are super quiet, unlike my fans on my Dell 2-in-1. It also has Alexa that you can download for free to use on the computer. I have used this in tablet mode and it seems to work very well. I do enjoy using it in the tent mode versus the tablet mode. I would absolutely recommend this laptop as a purchase! Very well made with up to date features and capabilities!

Well the good. Everything you need and fast. Also fun and good looking. The bad was straight out of the box the fan made a terrible whining noise. I’m not sure if this is normal for this machine but it’s too much for me. Even turned the fan down on the asus app and it was still loud enough for my gf to hear it across the room.

I bought this laptop less than a year ago and my charging cable stopped working suddenly. no exterior damages, as it sat on my table since I got the laptop. So I called the manufacturer and they told me to contact Best Buy and to buy a new cable, even though my warranty says the cable is covered. So I contact Best Buy and they told me to contact the manufacturer. So now I have a dead laptop and I can't find the charging cable online anywhere except for shady, 3rd party websites. So disappointing.

We do understand the inconvenience this may have caused, your dissatisfaction with the quality of the product and your recent customer service experience.

All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, this is a random problem. I purchased this laptop to use for running Adobe design software occasionally and light gaming. The laptop would not come out of sleep mode the first day that I used it. Since then I have tried everything to fix the issue. Now only 8 months after purchase, it won’t turn on at all. Very disappointed in the quality of the ASUS brand. Good General Use Laptop

The ASUS Q528EH laptop is a capable machine for school or office use. Overall I give it just under 4 stars due to a 1080p resolution screen and 720p resolution camera, both of which should have been spec'd higher for the price. PROs • Nice keyboard with numeric keypad. Feel is comfortable without being noisy. • Screen bezel is minimal, making the laptop relatively compact for a 15" screen • Excellent battery life. Easily lasted 7 hours+ for general email and browsing. • Harmon Kardon speakers deliver an excellent sound. • ASUS MyLink software allows you to pair your phone to the laptop to make/receive calls and texts, transfer files and more. Most functions work on both iOS and Android. CONs • Screen resolution of 1980 x 1080 feels dated for a 15". Even if just using for office or school work, you'll find some fonts don't render smoothly compared to a screen with higher resolution. • Camera resolution is 0.9MP (1280 x 720). In today's world of Zoom meetings, it would have been nice to have a higher res camera. • While the keyboard is excellent and allows for easy typing, the number pad uses half-sized keys. There seems to be enough room to have allowed for full size keys, though. Another 15" laptop I have is the same size footprint but includes a full size number keypad, as well dedicated keys for Page Up/Down, Home and End. The ASUS requires using the Fn key to access those navigation keys. If you do a lot of office or school work, you would appreciate those dedicated keys if you had them. When on sale, this laptop is a decent value and should be on your short list. As long as you're not doing much graphics work or need to see perfect fonts, the 1080p screen resolution won't get in your way.
